Importante è dire che la canzone Diva Dance è stata la colonna sonora del film ''il quinto elemento'' dove era un'aliena a cantarla con l'ausilio di un computer e sintetizzatore, ovviamente era pensata proprio per non essere cantata da un umano ma Dimash, pur essendo maschio, è riuscito nell'impresa!!!!! Da notare la scala discendente dell'aliena creata al computer viene sostituita da Dimash con una scala pentatonica discendente perfetta (colpisce nota per nota) che, a parer mio, suona meglio della scala simile dell'aliena, inoltre la fa in 2 secondi, pazzesco!!!! I love seeing reactions to this song. I had heard the original and had on my playlist before. Then I discovered Ren and Big Push and when I saw they covered this song I was so excited. I've seen Ren singing in the street many times. He's an outstanding talent. Musical genius. He films most of his music videos around this area in Brighton where he busks. And you are one of rather few reactors with whom I don't mind a second listen at all, your expertise and close attention to detail make up for the missing momentum of surprise, also I'm sure even you'd hear new things with repeated listening... I've watched this performance (actually her whole set at Montreux, it's on her channel... - that would be great content for one or two longer reactions, as well as an album review, but RAYE live is special, she's so living the moment, to it's breathtaking to witness her on any occasion...) countless times and still am getting goosebumps every single time... For your next reaction to RAYE maybe you'd want to check out her beautiful rendition of Ella's "Cry Me A River" for the Apollo at the Kennedy Center Honors 2024. The song is about a guy who built a house and now lives all alone and sad in it ...listening to the howling of the wind outside ... This song belongs to the Ukrainian- Russian vocal clown Vitas. (Relates to Videos on RUclips: Vitas sings never live and his voice is always processed electronically) However, the Chinese forgot to ask Vitas. The rights holders have sued the Chinese television... unfortunately too late. The Chinese had already put it online and so it stays on the internet forever. Vitas (Vitaly Vladasovich Grachev, *1979 Latvian SSR is a Ukrainian- Russian pop singer who mainly sings in Russian. He is also a composer, actor and fashion designer. Dimash is classical educated opera singer with voice range of 7,2 octave and he can sing in every register, male or female, bas, bariton, tenor, cauntratenor, alto, mezosoprano and soprano, but he don't want to sing only opera because he hate to put him in a category that's why he sing popopera because his idols is Lara Fabian and Michael Jekson

Dimash performs here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. The song by Russian singer Vitas was already popular in China, so the show's production team asked Dimash to perform "Opera 2" for the second stage of the competition. However, they forgot to obtain permission from Vitas in a timely manner, and he and his team of lawyers would not grant permission to Dimash to perform the song publicly. Fortunately for us, and to the chagrin of Vitas, the Chinese had already streamed the performance online. Dimash decided to surprise the audience with a lively version of three additional key changes on top of the one done in the original. Unbeknownst to Dimash, his father had come from Kazakhstan to watch him perform this song and surprised him at the end of the performance. Dimash was so happy and excited to see his dad. He did not earn a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a fan-favorite in China and now has a loyal following.

At the time Dimash sang this, Opera 2 was well-known in China and Russia. It was being played on most radio stations. The audience, which was all music professionals knew this song very well, and was very aware of what Dimash was doing, going up three half-tones instead of Vitas’ one.

Dimash produces/arranges all of the songs he sings with the help of his sound producer/music arranger, Yerlan Bekchurin. This song is a cover, original song by Vitas. The I Am Singer 2017 competition for professional singers that Dimash competed in China had rules that required all world famous covers except for one original song by the competitor. If you hear the Vitas version, there are no dynamic variations in his voice nor in how he sings the song. Dimash sang the song one more time at a guest performance then Vitas told Dimash he couldn't sing it again. Ah, well. You can never remove Dimash's Singer videos as they had permission to broadcast it. 😆

The original singer Vitas is famous for his high notes and this song, but even he changed key only once. I don’t remember Vita‘s version very well. But I believe Dimash arranged this himself, like he almost always does with the songs he sings and usually it turns out great! 🥰 Thank you for that great analysis! ❤😊
