This feels overengineered, except for very large pieces, where it totally makes sense to use it. Its light, sturdy and wont warp.
Can a normal person do their own stretcher?
If you are looking for pre-made stretcher bars to purchase off the shelf, then yes we sell them at our NYC shop. Pre-made bars are sold in even numbers. Been using their aluminum stretchers for a few years now. I’ll never go back to wood. And the price difference isn’t terribly significant! ♥️🖤💚
Awesome product. Sturdy but they are heavy and expensive, I bought a couple of this Aluminum stretched canvas @ Soho Art materials, 7 Wooster Street, Manhattan, NY.
What is the advantage of an aluminum stretcher over a wood stretcher? maybe the weight? Pls advise!
My guess is aluminum is not wood, and therefore wont warp with moisture changes the same way wood does. It also is also totally straight from manufacturing.
