Extremely Hard-to-hear

I am obsessed with the idea this woman is presenting. I am newly divorced, and I've dated with serious intentions, and it keeps falling apart. It feels way better to focus on the ONES instead of finding the ONE. It is EXTREMELY rewarding to love friends, family, and beyond instead of being locked into just one for the rest of my life or with the possibility that it can fall apart or increase resentment. I am in a place most men long to be in and I am unlocking single at heart. I can't wait to read this book.

I was able to listen live to the author speak for about 30 minutes and then had to leave. I was very happy to hear you say this would be on You Tube. So, thank you for posting on You Tube which allowed me to hear the entire presentation. Really enjoyed both women's descriptions of research and working in the field.

Michael Kearney is a great teacher. This talk was a beautiful explanation of our deep dependence on the Earth like a newborn baby is dependent on its Mother for sustenance and life. I loved the wisdom of the poem "St. Kevin and the Blackbird" by Seamus Heaney, where Kevin is so much a part of the Earth the blackbird thinks his outstretched arm is a tree and builds her nest is his palm. Thank you Michael for bringing together the Earth based wisdom of the ancient Celtic spirituality we both knew at least subconsciously, Buddhist teachings and Native American spirituality in your book on our bondedness to one another and the Earth. I have her book, and before I get into it, I thought I’d want to hear her. She did something I didn’t do in college: she spoke with her professors/teachers about what she was experiencing and going thru. I’d call that Entanglement.

Okay your first blog, on a frigid April night in 1912, the world's largest ocean liner struck an iceberg and slipped beneath the waves. The Titanic had scarcely disappeared before its new journey began. They made a love story out of Titanic, which hit an iceberg, and only the wealthiest took refuge. The work aide and the poor took second fiddle, nothing has changed much on status.

I happened to walk into this bookstore with my wife and kids around 25 minutes into this talk. I am a conservative Reformed Presbyterian who identifies with many aspects of Christian nationalism. I believe much of what I heard him say at the tail end of his talk wasn’t true, but I respect that he is entitled to his beliefs. I’m glad I did walk into this talk. I believe it was providential and it has put this topic on my radar again. I have reached out to Bradley on Twitter and I hope that he is able and willing to have public and respectful discussions with some proponents of Christian nationalism that I suggested and referred him to. It would be helpful for everyone in both sides. I also have his book and plan to read it.
