I have 2 points in the final column for putting which is Putt Weight. Putt Path is 3 and as you say roll is 1 which should be avoided.

You do have to allow for a lot more break on downhill putts due to the slow speed the ball is moving at. Taking the extra distance off will help get the ball closer as well. But they are always tough. Good luck!

Are you using a wired controller?

@fairway2heaven no, Im using a logitech wireless, and I'm now noticing that my greens are all around 155, which is why, I'm guessing, my ball is zipping all over these greens. My difficulty is set to amateur. So I think I have to play around with my settings. It is incredibly hard to get my ball to stay on the green. Also, Steam just had the game on sale for $8. You may see an uptick in traffic.

Ah. That explains why I’ve had more views. I would recommend using a wired controller if you can. I’m on Xbox and found that with a wireless controller it was more inconsistent, particular as the battery ran down.

@@fairway2heaven things are much better now that I'm playing courses that have Med- Slow greens.

Congrats! CC-C is no mean feat. You are not that far off the pro leagues. Make sure you play the Promotion Events on the Platinum Tour when they are held. Anyone can enter them and if you have a good result you can get promoted to a higher league. It’s easier than grinding through all the leagues.

To start you can do this mathematically. Every 3ft change in elevation impacts 1 yard on your shot distance. So if the green were 30ft above you, you would need to hit a club that flies 10 yards further. In practice that roughly works. The bit that I find throws this out slightly is the trajectory of the shot. Shorter irons with a higher trajectory it works pretty spot on. For longer irons with a flatter trajectory, you are looking to pitch the ball short due to its extra roll out. This can result in the ball pitching into the upslope and dying. So add some loft to the club so it flies further to land on the putting surface and stops quicker. For long iron shots to greens below you, you can take more off than the calculation suggests if there is no hazard or rough in front of the green due to the rollout. Start with the simple calculation and then tweak things from there as you get more experience with it.

Please forgive me I used the wrong term. I should have said slopes instead of elevation. How do you manage slopes?

I’m a bit of a feel player on slopes but again you can do it mathematically. Red slopes result in a 10-15 yard deviation, yellow 5-8 yard, and green 1-3 yard. Be carefully with shaping the shot off slopes. When the ball is above your feet, a draw seems to move more in the air and the same for a fade when the ball is below your feet. Conversely the opposite shots seem to move less and hold a straighter line.

I know the feeling. Just got my second top 10 of the season in the Kinetic league, but I’m sure a missed cut is just around the corner. A bit like real golf. You can play rubbish but that one great shot brings you back the next week. 🙂

That’s dedication. 🙂 I like the ball flight of the hybrid. It flies a little higher and stops quicker when lofted. Also at this stage I have so many fittings I have maxed them out but agree there is a little more synergy when using just irons. Good luck!

Hello! I’m not aware of a quick way to level up your xp but it is not that along a process. Play the first season on the Tour and you will get there.

Well there was 2 years between the videos so I reserve the right to change my mind! But in reality you can get to similar stats from both archetypes. It’s the stats that are the important thing.

With a lot of practice. You overpower by over swinging but the more you over swing, the smaller the swing path and perfect timing get. So you have to be a near perfect swing to do so. My recommendation is don’t do it. You will get a much more consistent outcome with a swing around 100%.

I didn’t particularly. Power, Swing Path then Timing were my focus. Just how the fittings fell for those stats. Lie range is really only useful if you need to hit a driver off the deck to a long par 5. A high lie range will increase how far it goes which can make a very long hole reachable.

@@fairway2heaven Thanks. That explains it. Another question - I notice you use both a 3 wood and a 3 hybrid. Have you tried swapping the 3 wood for an extra iron and if so where would you spend the extra points for the archetype?

Many players play this game for how it feels like playing golf, not to play an arcade version of it. That and you can’t use 3 click in the TGC Tour leagues. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@fairway2heaventhat needs to be changed, you should play the game that’s you not what prefer, you be allowed play with what setup you want. Some players can’t get to grips with stick swing or vice versa so should be player preference rather than clubs choice. Just my option I know a lot will disagree but hay ho.

Well the TGC Tours has a separate league for 3 click players. It is perfectly reasonable to separate the two as for the best 3 click players the game is too easy. They are shooting 20 under a round and better which no swing stick player can compete against.

If you read the tooltip on the archetype screen it says for timing ‘Timing scales the hook / slice forgiveness window’. That is the overall grey bar not the white perfect bar. It reduces the amount that the ball curves in the air. If you want to see some testing on it though, check out Ma_Kachada’s video. Just tested it and when I go from Rythmn to powerhouse my perfect tempo window gets smaller even though powerhouse has more transition

It’s a combination of both. Higher timing increases the starting width of the swing foregiveness which is a combination of the grey bar and white perfect tempo. Because the overall gets wider so does the white perfect tempo bar. From recollection (I have my swing timer turned off), as you swing the club back these bars shrink in size (past 100% swing). How much they shrink is based on your transition stat. A higher stat and they shrink less and so it results in a wider perfect tempo bar. I remember seeing someone test this, and maybe it wasn’t Ma_Kachada. If I can find it again I will link it in a comment. I might be off here, but doesn’t change the build at all as I favor timing for the reduction in how much the ball turns.

That’s awesome. Look forward to seeing you in Kinetic soon! The course for CC is very score able this week. Wasn’t able to get my course guide out yet on it but it plays very different from the back tees. It’s one of those courses with hazards at driving range from the back, but which you clear easily from the mid or front tees. Lots of holes that favor a left to right shot tee shot as well. Good for a lefty player like me. Early in the round avoid going over the greens. Some tricky recovery shots if you do. There are quite a few greens later with backstops but the standard green speed is too slow to really take advantage of them much. Let me know how you get on.

@ just played my 2 rds At TGC, wow quite tough, -4 for 1st rd and -12 for the 2nd rd, that 1st rd was tough

You don’t see that in TGC Tours. In the Kinetic league where I play currently, the cut is normally around -8 per round, and top ten is -11 to -14. This is played on Master difficulty. The top players in TGC Tours don’t use modded controllers. They are just very good. I play in a society league with Wo Be Killin who is one of the top Xbox players, and he is just very good. And he does have bad days as well.

The restrictions on controllers is ridiculous on tgc tours, my 15 dollar msi controller didn’t pass their fair play test, if you’re using a modded controller with any inconsistencies your scores will not count

I would absolutely recommend you recalibrate if your swing tempo has changed, or if you have a controller update. Once you have developed a consistent swing tempo, which is the most important thing, recalibrate several times to get the ball flight how you want. Personally I have calibrated so that I can hit a slight fast or slight slow through feel. It lets me move the ball into a pin. My go to shot is a slight fast as it flies a little further and is better in windy conditions.

Kinetic. Playing on Xbox so an uphill struggle to get to Elite and higher with the parsing of the controller. Certainly my aim to keep improving.

You can still make the Powerhouse work. It’s all about getting to the stats you want and how to get there with the fittings you have.

That’s right. They just finished the last season a week or so ago. They have donations to fully fund the next season so we should see it kicking off in a couple of weeks. Register with them and then play in the first challenge circuit event. That will then place you in a league. Good luck!

I would strongly recommend that you do because the hybrid ball flight flies higher and sits softer than a long iron making it a great club for long par 3s or shots into par 5s. But if that doesn’t persuade you … On Fittings you still want to use a similar strategy but try to get your 3 Iron presumably long enough to bridge the gap to your 3 wood. On Skills, you will have 11 skill points to allocate. The following skills are reasonable alternatives. 1st column: Zen Garden 2nd: Range Finder 3rd: Tee Timing/ Beach Bum 6th: Blacksmith 7th: Double Major / Easy Reads I do think that the hybrid bag is better overall because these alternative skills are not ideal.

@@fairway2heaven The reason I don't need to use hybrids is because I'm a powerhouse build. I rely heavily on my driver, 3 and 5 wood, long irons and especially my wedges. I get more chip ins to avoid long-range putts.

Whatever suits you sir. You can get to similar stats either starting with Powerhouse or Rhythm.

I’m putting together a build video currently and should have something out by early next week if not earlier. In it I will cover clubs, fittings, archetype, and skills. So you have something to go on now though, I am currently carrying Driver, 3w, 3 hybrid, 4-9 irons, PW, GW, LW, SW, and putter. I have a 11 - 15 yard gap between my clubs all the way up to the 4 iron. Then 24 to the hybrid, 25 to the 3w and 34 to the driver. Hope that helps and look out for the new video coming soon.

TGC Tours only allows the standard ball in competitions so I have only ever used them. I think Respawn TV did a review of balls.

Interesting. I use it in TGC Kinetic and it is fine. Currently I’m just outside the top 400 in the world at Master swing difficulty. With the right fittings you can make any of them work, but they won’t all be optimal. Powerhouse gets you closest.

You need to have a timing fitting for each part of the club you want to put on - grip, shaft and head. You can put the same type of fitting on all three as long as you have one for each part. There is no restriction on that.

Agreed. It feels like 75 to 80 is the base line for a lot of the stats particularly at Master or Legendary skill level. Swing path at 87 is nice. My power is boosted to 100 with the skill that kicks in when I fly a drive more than 275. Given it’s so easy to activate. I’m not sure you need more than 90.
