I'm just typing as I watch along;-) 21:35 Jonathan Silverman (as Jay) actually had his scenes almost completely cut. When Madeline and Ernest arrive at the Bookparty Jay's girlfriend asks where she should know Madeline from and he lists a few fictional movies (Nobodys Bride, Sacramento, Dark Windows) and she goes: "Ohhhh herrr I thought she was dead.... what has she been up to lately?" He says: "oh yell complain, sue people... Loveboat..." and the girl goes: "oh yikesss who is her agent?" And he goes... sigh... "I AM." 8 actors were cut out of the film Then after another cut scene where Ernest is talking to an old plastic surgery client Madeline goes over to Jay to ask why he hasn't gotten her any gigs lately and he starts bs'ing his way out but he does offer her a seat on 'Hollywood Squares'. 27:07 You can see this in the trailer (better noticable in the 35mm upscale one)... there was another reference to Back To The Future when Madeline parks her car behind a DeLorean outside the beauty salon. Sadly this scene was also cut. 42:15 Madeline and Helen in the original ending were still stunning, sitting on a balcony of a beautiful hotel... They never started to peel in the original third act. Madeline in the 27 years later ending does complain about some paint coming off on her back but we don't see that. She says she has to call Lisle again to get fixed and Helen goes: "He's no Ernest...!" When Ernest and Toni are sitting on the grass below them having food and drinks Mad & Hel keep watching them (Helen turning sad because she now longs for a mortal life) and as the movie faded to black the women's perfect faces turned to skulls for a second. An entire 24 hr period of events got removed after Ernest picks up the formaldehyde: Ernest drives to The Four Seasons to meet up with Helen who is driving behind him so she speeds like crazy to arrive there before him, she gets rid of the Madeline shrine in her room. Then Ernest comes to her room and they come up with the burial plan... but he eventually chickens out and Helen rips open her hand again. In the morning the Maid finds Madeline stuffed in the freezer at home. Ernest gets Mad out and tells her to act like its a beauty treatment so she sticks avocado on her face and goes walking around the house and the stairs... Ernest gets the maid out and starts lugging her up the stairs so he can make her representable again. (You can see this in the trailer). Between Mad being spraypainted and then receiving the final touch ups Helen was exercising in her aerobics outfit and doesn't mis a move as a bellhop gives her the maps of death valley. Then right after that she is seen standing at a warehouse checkout as the clerk rings up all her burial stuff he gets suspicious and asks her if she also wants a headstone to go with it. Then Helen bursts out laughing behind her red veil. There were around 30 deleted scenes. The original film was around 2 hrs so we got the more condensed version of the movie (half hr cut and replaced with 10 minutes: 2 reshoot scenes). I think eventhough the original ending is a bit poignant and gloomy the rest of the original film is so much stronger.

I have been there a total of 3 times. The very first time I stayed there. (Alpine Room) I had the entire floor to myself. There is a bathroom that is actually shared by 2 rooms. I shut the door to the adjoining room. Well I went back to the bathroom a few hours later. That door was open. The Angora Room I was woken up by a strong feeling of being watched. The last time I stayed in the Fainting Room. I had a feeling of being paralyzed and feeling like something was touching my stomach. Now in July 2024 I am staying in the Nubian Room.

Yeah that’s wild that energy was literally the energy of that person and their frame of mind . Their psychosis was so deep, there were no boundaries for them . They just did not care I can’t even describe the energy I’m feeling other than it’s just total idgaf about your boundary . As experienced as you are it has to be something really intense Courtney. We did it as a kid with the old wooden folding card tables. We made them count and dance and answer questions. Very awesome, need to find the right table to bring for an investigation and start doing it again. Btw, Tim ROCKS!!!

One of my all time favorite movies. It's such a trip and I love all the creepy elements. Fantastic music and acting. Such an underrated film.
