Thanks to this video & amazon.. my system was back up & runnin in less than 24 hours. Thank you! I swear.. I learn more on RUclips than I did ever did in college. 😅
Man, exact same problem, ordered a new board and still not working. After watching your video, I'm going to try replacing the old piece and see if that works. For 10 bucks, it's worth a shot. Regardless, thank you for posting this, it is helping a lot of folks.
my heat shield is rusted out too as are two burners and all the briquette trays. I emailed RCS to see if it was covered by warranty. if not I won’t buy this product again. ridiculous that stainless steel disintegrates this fast.
This may help someone. Before you replace your board. A question for you. !!! Are your display lights and numbers fidgeting ? If the are replace the display first. Its much cheaper than the board about $115 vs $400. If not try this also my own pool did this. I put an old board in that I had replaced the thermistor in. After a new aftermarket board lasted 2 days. I was confused about the salt level numbers saying 2.7 and red lights were on after 30 seconds or so. Turns out I needed to check all my settings. It was in metric was set for t-3 cell mine is t-15 and had to calibrate the salt level. I have a hand held electronic salt meter and it’s normally very close to the Hayward reading. I had to toggle it from off to auto a few times to get it to start counting down like you’ve seen in calibration videos then flip it up to super chlorinate and back to auto to hold the setting. But now lights are green and everything it good in the pool.
Fix worked like a charm! However, now the unit is running super hot on the top right corner where the new part was soldered. I’m not sure if it ran this hot before? Now I’m worried to leave it running. Anyone else have this Problem?
I bought a house that had this piece of crap already built in. It was rusted all to hell and it’s only about 4 years old. When I saw the cost of those briquette trays, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve replaced all of the burner tubes already and I guess the trays are next... Or maybe I’ll just replace the whole thing. Ugh.
I changed this part 2 years ago. Now it needs a new one. If I squeeze the current limiter together the power light would come on. I gave it a wiggle and it crumbled. I'm calling this a bad design by Hayward. It's basically planned obsolescence. I'm sure Hayward knows this part fails often. When you call them they want you to purchase a new board.
Very well instructed and well presented instructions for this simple repair. Saved me a lot of money and headaches - thank you Joe Homeowner - I am very grateful. Just fixed my Aqua Rite.
Thanks Brother for posting- just put in a new thermistor and it’s working. Pool company probably would have had me replace entire system. Thanks for saving my family a little money
Thank you for the video. Seeing your video with the exact problem as mine. made me feel so much better. I will now change out the big Disc. thank you for taking the time. And IT WORKS !!!!!
Hey Joe you still 'ere???? Just want to thank you for your video... I did as you identified possible issues 1..2... and 3... Sadly it was # 3... no problem .. replaced the fuse your # one and # two just as you and others said was fried to a crisp fell apart when I touched it.. and as like you have no experience in soldering .. so followed your lead and also another you tube home owner.. and WAM.. thank you MAn.. LOL.. however it did not last because it was all three.. What do u expect from a 10 year old system...You may say ten years.. yes sir... you need to see other video.. it was an audio on you tube I think it was the pool guy.. meanwhile thank you...again... another home owner helping a brother.. or sister... saving money and learning things. :-)
Hey Man Thank you so much for this video, You just solved my problem, and saved me a bunch of cash, I had the exact same problem as you on circuit board i went to the website and ordered that same part.
Great video, Joe, the current limiter (thermistor) from my machine crumbled in my hand so I know it needs replacement. For those of you who need the part number it's: SL32 2R025 - They are common and available on-line and in most electronic parts stores.
Doesn't RCS have a 15 year warranty on all parts on their grills?
Thanks to this video & amazon.. my system was back up & runnin in less than 24 hours. Thank you! I swear.. I learn more on RUclips than I did ever did in college. 😅
