What a Session! A 58cm Bass Rounded Off a 12 Fish Session! 10 Bass and 2 Flounder in a morning session up The Exe. Many Bass and a Flounder caught in this session up The Exe Estuary! This was my first bait session in two years! I have to admit, I've missed it! The sights and sounds along with the fish brought back great memories of previous sessions. Because of this, I WILL be doing more of them this winter. I've always said there is more to fishing than just the fish, and hopefully, that comes across in th...

I know this is an old video but your Corkwing wrasse are just Ballans. That aside,I enjoyed watching 👍
@@MrMugilidae yeah. There's a couple in the middle that were labelled wrong. Was just starting out back then. Come a long way since. Check out my newer channel. youtube.com/@lrfandhrf?si=kS_0LAFBkNLes6-a
Hey mate, ive watched all your videos on the exe estuary. I went there today in this exact spot and didnt have any luck at all :( is there a certain tide or distance to cast etc? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
I've had my best sessions using Blow lug dug from the Exe. What bait did you use today?
@FishingAroundBudleigh i used ragworm. You don't think the state of the tide makes too much difference then?
@@TheTangledAngler I'm not expert but have only ever blanked using Ragworm Have fished two rods side by side, one with rag and one with locally dug blow, Not a bite on the rag, fish on the blow lug. I personally wouldn't use anything but local blowlug in the Exe now. Others may tell you different but if I fish the Exe, I dig lug in Exmouth beforehand.
@FishingAroundBudleigh excellent. Thanks for all your info! 🎣
@TheTangledAngler no worries. Be interesting to know if it makes a difference. Please let me know. Have you seen I have another channel top fishing all over? Its LRF and HRF
cool
I first fished Exe valley Fishery over 45 years ago. There is something magical about this place.
Was here a couple hours ago though it was soo weedy not a single bite though
Whats the bait you're using ? Is it plastics? Also what rig you using i wouldn't mind taking my little one to do some lrf fishing when i go over there in a few weeks
It's called isome. Check out the link below. I was using a splitshot rig I'm this video. I have another channel purely for my LRF fishing too. That's also linked below. LRF and HRF: youtube.com/@lrfandhrf On The Drop: onthedrop.co.uk/softs/
The inner harbour is full of mullet, you could have tried for them. Also you could have fished from the backwater Swannery bridges.
Thank you. Been back a couple of times since and had some really good sessions. Check out the links for videos on my LRF Channel. ruclips.net/video/MUERLy3jmLw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/zIFoM_kgVsc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/IaJp6pZ1-WM/видео.html
The other video you said you always put your drag loose as you nearly lost a rod :D
Very nice video. Do you ever target the bass on lures in the estuary?
Thanks. Yeah I've had some decent ones on lures up there.
Nice
Where is there please ? I wanna go for a day
This was Bathpool. But the fishing is the same throughout the whole of the canal
Thoroughly enjoyed that mate. Fished Starcross a few times.
Thanks for saying. Glad it was a decent watch. I've not fished Starcross yet but the shipwreck is on my to fish list. Don't forget to Subscribe as there will be plenty more over the winter.
@@FishingAroundBudleigh already have. One question, using those carp rods, what kind of oz weight are you using?
Oh. Thank you 😊 I use 3oz weights. I think it may be pushing it but don't over do it.
Which rods/reels you using Dan?
I was using 9ft Wychwood Riot Carp Rods in the one. The last video were 12ff ones. The Reels are Also Wychwood Riot reels
@@FishingAroundBudleigh Thanks. Will check em out.
@@Adam_Outdoors no worries. I bought them as a "temporary set up" during lockdown. Never needed to replace them and haven't even oiled the reels.
I've fished opposite that mark at the hole in the wall on the Exmouth side every night last week with rag and not so much as a nibble, Nice catch!
Try Blow Lug next session. It works so much better. My last video was at hole in the wall and had loads there last week
Thanks for the advice, where do you get them from locally ? @@FishingAroundBudleigh
No worries. I dig mine at low tide off the Imperial Recreation Ground. Or Hook Line and Tackle have them. Think you have to preorder or reserve it though?
@@FishingAroundBudleigh I'd happily buy some from you if you ever over-stock 👌👌🐟
Cracking video Dan. I really enjoy how you put your videos together, they make for great watching. Just watch your back on that terrain!
Thanks. I'm glad the effort in editing is noticed and appreciated. I think it would get boring reeling in ten fish in a row so try and keep that for the best of the action
Uma pesca que não me dedico, mas aprecio ver.💯🎣
Thank you.
What source do you use for the estuary tide times please ?
go on google and search where you want to fish and tide times
I use an app called Fishing Points. Does way more than just tides. If you log a catch it'll save all the data you can dream of including tide height, moon phase all the way to weather and air pressure the minute you caught
Hi mate just wandering were that mark is I have never fished exmouth and really want to
This was over near Powderham. But doesn't matter where you fish in the exe. You'll catch anywhere
Great video mate!! Awesome fish! I love making fishing videos as well and just want to say that I really enjoy your content! Keep up the good work!! 💪💪🎣🎣
Thank you 😊 very kind of you to comment that. Have you seen my other channel? youtube.com/@LRFandHRF?si=20-jhnkMs0Q-su8P
Welcome back Dan!! Hope to see more local sea fishing vids :)
Thanks Tracey. Yeah there will be a few to come. I'll also be posting on my other channel
Ah what was the other channel, only ever known this one :)
It purely for the LRF fishing I do. Wanted to keep LRF and bait fishing separate youtube.com/@LRFandHRF?si=budim6HRbjl4nCTL
New to the area, great to see a nice straightforward video with fish caught.
Glad you enjoyed it. This is my style of video. No waffle. Just fish along pov videos. Plenty on my other channel too youtube.com/@LRFandHRF?si=20-jhnkMs0Q-su8P
Beautiful video, great to see the flounder caught, getting rare in the estuaries now. Look forward to more bait videos.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I had plenty of Flounder bites in this session but wasn't patient enough
Schoolies are fun to catch - they're almost as bashful as mackerel. Nice flounder too. Lucky you were able to escape the tide. Shows how long since you've been on the estuary.
I love Bass of any size. Stunning little things. The tide looked worse than it was. If we couldn't climb out it would have just been wet feet walking back haha.
Well done Dan another quality video! 👍
Thanks Steve. Took me back a couple of years. Really enjoyed it
Great to see bait fishing again, thank you. More please :-)
Thanks Paul. Definitely more to come this winter
@@FishingAroundBudleigh Do you prefer Hole in the wall , Lympstone or Powderham side ? :-)
They're all just as good. There have been signs put up by the RSPB restricting access to the hole in the wall side all the way from the swimming pool to past Lympstone until new year though
@@FishingAroundBudleigh Thank you. I am 250 miles away. Looks a lovely estuary. Thank you for your videos. Love the format.
Thank you. 😊
Many great memories walking around there & over the tracks with my family. May have to return with the bass rods at some point too. Thanks for the upload
Thanks. Dontcforget to sub for more videos. You should go with the rods. You'll Always find something
Mais um vídeo TOP🎣💯
Muito obrigado. e obrigado por acompanhar meus canais.
Managed to pick up a Tanago rod for a tenner off Temu and I rockpool with that using size 22 Drennan wide gape hooks and 1.5lb line, all works quite nicely for a bit of fun.
Oh nice. I've had a diawa tanago rod since last Christmas and only taken it once. Haha. Should really try it again. But I prefer just catching
I was only 13 days into LRF in this video. Crazy!
Amazing!
Your talking about the exmouth in western australia right?
Nope it's Exmouth in Devon, England
What tide and weather do you target them on? Also can you get that worm you were using anywhere in exmouth? Like a supermarket or tackle store? Cheers
good quality images!
Carolina ;)
I leave at least two spelling mistakes in every video. It's like a little game for my subs. Watch them all and point them out in the comments ;)
Tough place
Sure is. Definitely not anywhere near the top of my return to list
Bellbrook turned into a carp fishery a couple of months back 😢
You just pulled the line to the concrete, and you wondering you lost the fish and the line LOL🤣🤣
Some beautiful shots of the sunrise Dan. And another great quality video. Top marks 👍👍👍
Thanks Karl
Some cracking footage in this video Dan.
I used to spend most of my time hrf-ing for the big ballans, until discovering lrf. The bigger ballans dont half put up a scrap. Such great fun EDIT: My favourite lure is a keitech sexy impact for the big boys. The copies on ALI EXPRESS are actually better imo. They're just that little bit tougher which helps with the smaller wrasse nipping the tails off
You could have made all that in 3 mins. Iv just wasted 15 watching
Haha. Glad you enjoyed 15 mins of an 11-minute video!
It seemed like 15 hours
No one asked you to watch it? You chose to. So thank you glad you enjoyed it
No one asked me to watch It, that's not my point is it? If you don't watch something how can you give an opinion?
Don't remember asking an opinion if I'm honest? You must have such a sad little life if a video upsets you. Are you OK?
Good vibes you captured Weymouth beautifully
Great video. What jig heads do you use?
Hi What size and type of disgorger do you use for the smaller fish when hook is deep....love the videos TIA
Hi Geoff. I carry a small pair of Forceps with me. Don't have to use them that often though. Thankfully
@Fishing Around Budleigh cheers mate
Congratulations on your Zander, I’m still yet to target them but it’s pretty much the last fish left on my bucket list, living in Somerset I figure the Gloucester canal to be my closest chance, I will make the effort one day soon. Great videos and I’m glad to have stumbled across your channel. BTW I used to live in Otterton and regularly fish Budliegh, wonderful part of the world 👍
What's it like there bud thinking about going ?
I've climbed at meadfoot. Ever since getting back into fishing I've always wanted to try that spot. Stunning spot and fish.
Lovely video, fitting end to a great channel, looking forward to even better things to come on the new one and this, thanks very much Dan for posting and keeping all our interests going.
Cheers Bob. Not the end of thr channel. Just no LRF on here. Will use it for bait fishing from now on
Another great video - just subscribed to your other channel
Thank you and thanks for the sub. I'll keep them coming.
