Oops! I clearly screwed up on my recent purchase of the K-1-17 🫤 I purchased it for use on my car but I can’t possibly mount it on the car so I was going to place it on a tow hitch mount style base. Not sure what I can do at this point.

Francis triple quarter wave antennas are great IF you can find a Francis hotrod 5.5 or the larger 8ft cb50 amazer both are great factory pre-tuned antennas made in the USA.

i drive a 2019 Pete 579 with fiberglass shell instead of metal. the specs call for any antenna to be mounted on the back of the sleeper in the center. it's where the stock antenna was. i bought the predator with a 6' whip (seller said it's the only whip that works with the predator). i put it where the stock antenna was but the predator with the whip was about a foot or more above the top of the trailer. trailer is 13'6. got the bearcat 880 tuned and peaked and everything was tits. swr was 1.00. but up to michigan i hit low bridges and it took the whip right off. no damage, just took the whip out of the antenna base. got another identical whip and now am going to have to relocate the entire thing.

When you detach the 1000 or 5000 will you have to re tune the antenna each time you replace it?

The Stryker SR-A10 center loaded version more powerful than the predator. Because predator can easily catch the water. I am using SR-A10 CB Antenna. Great product, very close to 1:1 SWR on CB! So far, it seems to be a huge improvement, from my Wilson 5000... Which really was pathetic with regards to receive on my Stryker 655.

I have a Predator Bad To The Bone and I only could get the SWR to a 1.2 on Ch 20 and a 1.3 on ch 1-&-40 in my opinion I don't think the antenna is all that great with SWR I could see if there was an amplifier inline and the SWR was a 1.2 to 1.3 then it's acceptable but for a barefoot radio doing 4 to 5 watts and having an SWR at 1.2 to 1.3 that's kind of high for a barefoot radio, But If anybody could point a few thing out to me please let me know.

so I bought a KW4-B from firestik. my question is how do I make adjustments to the antenna? it doesn't have the adjustment screw in the tip.

Stephanie the difference is the stud mount. The SS194 has a stud mount that requires terminals on the end of the coax cable. The SS194A has a stud mount that requires a screw on connector on the end of the coax cable. Best Regards, Clay

Hello Stephanie, We are no longer recommending the quad wrap. We have had quite a few break at the base. Consider the double wrap Tiger. Stake hole pocket mounts offer a clean install. Best Regards, Clay

If I wanted to install a quad wrap antenna on a dodge truck, where should I look and what should I ask for?

I have ask everyone for help I have 2002 Chevrolet Impala 4 door family car, I recently purchased Wilson 5000 magnetic mount need help get 62 " steel whip toget match up well with 1.5 or less on 1 to 40 channels! I have on roof top coaxs go buy trunk in front near back window then run in a hole near backrest of back past my seat beat right side to and front passenger one ! But wanted know if can cut whip and how much out 62" whip length total be shorter! Plus it has R8X 95 % coax 18 feet type on it to came like that at store I bought from ! know my previous antenna Wilson 1000 had 64 inches whip cut 1/4 " off and ran perfect 1.1 o Channel plus flat on 20 channel , 40 channel flat too had RG 58 U coax 18 feet! yes kale is a very nice guy we hang out at his antenna shop ever time im in the gr8 state of texas at my cb shop predator is my number one selling antenna when I set his antenna I all ways get a 1:0 are a 1:1 swr google 440 cb shop and give me a call.

I met kale, the maker of the predator antenna and he told me that if I ever have a problem with my predator to give him a call and he will replace any broken parts for free. He looks like a down to earth kinda guy.

What antenna would you recommend for a Uni-body type vehicle that has no frame? Im currently using a 40" (I think) steel whip with a bottom loaded coil with a 4 inch spring and a magnet mount. I connected a wire to the antenna to the body as a ground. little to no swr, but I get a lot of engine feedback.

Does adding the shorter antenna affect the range on the 5000??

If you look closer you will notice that I am only turning the base about 20-30% each time I move my wrist. Therefore about 4-5 movements of my hand is actually about 1 revolution.
