@@YourNonShiningStar Actually Anakin was inspired by Paul's character so literally if you mix up lightsabers with Dune you get Star Wars. I respect that you've read the book, people can't understand everything from the movies sadly.

@@user-qp8gz9hw5n George Lucas was "inspired" by Dune - copying is a better terminology for this scenario. Furthermore is there a huge difference between Paul and Anakin in which this comparison between those characters lack enormously. Anakin wants power to protect Padme from death (and a bit himself) Paul is going this way as he sees a (fragment) type of future as to free the galaxy with the golden path. Therefore I see a huge discrepancy between the two protagonists. Please tell me your kind of thoughts as I would be very interested in a fellow fan :) Wish you a wonderful night

@@YourNonShiningStar Honestly I think the movie makes Paul look like Anakin, although they are really not that alike. They are seen as the messiah of their story, Anakin is less respected, since he is really just one of the jedi in the prequels. He is stronger than them. Paul is seen as the literal Messiah, and he isn't strong by power a some fremen could even defeat him. Nobody could stop Anakin while he was being Vader. They are really different in this aspect. One more thing between the two of them is the jedi-sith in SW and in Dune(movie)south-north disagreement. George Lucas went further with them being arch nemesises.

Let's go all the way to their beginnings. 1A - Paul, the son of a Bene Gesserit and of a world-ruling Duke. 1B - Anakin, the son of a lowly slave woman and the force. Next, let's look at the first major events that changed their lives. 2A - The Atreides are attacked, and he loses his house and his father and is forced into hiding. 2B - Qui-Gon Jinn finds Anakin and offers him a deal to become a Jedi. Anakin goes on to win the pod race and is able to leave his life of slavery, but he has to leave his mother behind. Next, their general lives afterward. 3A - Paul and his mother treck through the desert and eventually finds the Fremen and wins a spot amongst their people. He then goes on to find out that he might or might not be the messiah they have prophecies about. His mother goes on to be an influential figure in the Fremen's religious ring and makes them believe that Paul is who they believe. Paul wants revenge on House Harkonnen. 3B - Anakin trains under Obi-Wan as the order believes him to be the chosen one, which he is. (Note: Anakin's prophecy was that he would bring balance to the force - the force being a mostly intangible power that governs and guides the universe. Paul's prophecy was that he would deliver the Fremen to paradise.) During his time at the Order, Anakin will lose his mother and fight with connections to people he cares about, but that the Order, his whole world, says he should not have. Their falls and rises, respectively. 4A - Paul wages a war on Dune against the Harkonnens alongside the Fremen as a leader. He eventually gains the ability to see into the future where he finds the only path to a Fremen victory. He leads his new people in a final battle against the Harkonnens where he wins, captures the emperor, wins a duel and, after not being acknowledged by the other houses, leads the Fremen on a holy crusade that will kill billions. 4B - Anakin kills Count Duke, cementing the true beginning of his fall to the dark side, which had been slowly festering during the 4-year-long Clone war. He discovers that his secret lover since childhood is pregnant with his child, which is so against the Jedi code (which is something he is practically ruled by) that would remove him from the order. He is plagued by visions of her death, which were put into his mind by the single most powerful Sith Lord to ever exist. Said Sith Lord offers him a way to keep his love alive, but Anakin refuses and goes to the Jedi order so they might arrest him. Remember, Anakin has had seeds of doubt regarding the Order for years, and recent events only perpetuate that. He then confronts the Jedi and finds that they are planning to kill the Sith lord who had also been the only father figure during his years at the temple. Anakin makes the impulse decision to kill the Jedi and thus cementing his fall to the dark side, and the decades of terror he, his master, and the empire will bring upon the Galaxy. I'm not saying they aren't similar, because they are. But they are not copies in any way besides the fact that they are both chosen ones.

Working up the ranks from a desert planet 3.Mentors who ignore the orders from their secret wizard/witch like order of the training of the said chosen ones because they are dangerous and end up being right 4. The way the force and and the Bene gesseratte powers work that was a very simple and extremely short summary there is a lot more
