What to Expect at Our Clinician Survivor Healing Retreat

What to Expect at Our Clinician Survivor Healing Retreat
When I was in grad school way back in the day, it was talked about in our practicum course. We were encouraged to work for a system that provided supervision as part of our employment until we were either licensed, or willing to pay a private supervisor. I came out of grad school knowing it was not going to be free in the private realm, and well versed in supervision requirements and other state mandates. I am wondering if those topics are no longer being covered in class? I supervise the clinical department at a non-profit, and along with my own staff, supervise 3-4 students a year in their practicum. I have noticed in the last several years that many of the newer students have no understanding about supervision ratios/costs, or other state compliance information for licensing. I honestly feel like this shift took place when so many schools went to all remote learning. Thanks for sharing this info!
This is a fascinating thought that the shift happened with remote learning! It reinforces our mission to normalize money conversations in grad school and beyond when it comes to clinical work! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!
Thank you so much! So informative.
We are always happy to help when it comes to Medicaid!
This is great, thank you!
I'm so glad it resonated!
Amazing job Khara! You really knocked it out of the park!
Thank you!
Congratulations on such an amazing keynote presentation! #shineon #rockstarstatus
Thank you so much!
Hi Khara! Can one contractor provide supervision to another contractor under the same practice? Thank you for the info!
For supervisory billing yes, for clinical supervision I don’t think so?
Not sure if my original reply went through. Contracted supervision for supervisory billing yes, contractor for clinical sup only if they aren't affiliated with the practice.
@@kharacroswaite okay thank you for your quick response!
What an important topic, thanks for being vocal and shedding light and lessening shame on this choice that is hard but more common than we might think.
Amazing!!! ❤
Great Info! Would this work in NYS? Any recommendations? Thank you!
Glad you found it valuable! Medicaid is different in every state so you'd want to check with NY directly.
Your content is good but views is too less. I specialize in RUclips SEO. If you want to grow your channel, I can help you.Let me know if you're interested in discussing how we can enhance your channel's performance!
Very informative video! As someone progressing as a clinician, I find this imperative in addressing clients progress and maintaining boundaries. This video is great!
We are so glad it resonated with you!
Or listening to a podcast about a client 's issue then calling the client to talk to them about it, is that case management?
No. Case management is very specific in Colorado focused on access to services.
Can case management be billed for mandated reporting?
No it cannot.
My wife went to a therapist in Colorado, she suffered from sever Depression, she was given ketamine during her sessions at this clinic. The therapist encouraged my wife to leave me. The therapist accepted gifts from my spouse went out with my wife and drove her back to her hotel after she sessions. My wife fell in love with her and this therapist continued this relationship for 4 months while my wife was in therapy. What can I do to stop this from happening to someone else.
I'm so sorry you experienced that. You can look up the therapist in the licensing board database and file a complaint. The licensing board will then investigate your claims. apps2.colorado.gov/DORA/licensing/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx
I love that I started with my name and created a new word later when I became a group practice and did a DBA so no need to get whole new insurance contracts, EIN or anything like that.
Great point about the DBA!
Thank you so much for this! It was really helpful
Does Medicaid in Colorado cover ketamine treatments for depression?
They pay for the therapy portion only.
Thank you both!
Is there a consultation that I could schedule to review documentation as I await credentialing? I love the idea of doing the work on the front end to avoid clawbacks and fraud audits. How do I schedule with one of you?
Thanks for providing this information! It’s going to be useful and can refer candidates to it as it answers common questions that are frequently asked!
I'm so glad it could be helpful!
It's so wonderful.
Thank you! Excited to get them in the hands of colleagues!
Any updates on if this has been a successful workaround for you? I mean of putting the Medicaid ID in the "name they go by" box?
Yes it's solved the previous issues of putting a Medicaid ID after last name (in previous videos) Putting the Medicaid ID in name they go by, i.e. John Smith, name they go by box reads as John O12345 allows their Medicaid ID to populate on all notes without negatively impacting claims and billing.
Good video
Thank you!
🔥
During my research of your RUclips channel and videos, I've identified some areas that may be impacting your video views and subscriber growth. If you're interested, I can show you these issues.
Great conversation: it's always a joy to do what one likes and is interested in, and our interests keep growing. As Alex said, when it's time to grow somewhere else we really know. Inspiring discussion; very helpful. Thanks to each of you!
I'm so glad it was affirming for you! When you know, you know! :)
Khara, looking back on this, I am so thankful that we've been able to connect so much! Thank you for giving me my first interview/podcast opportunity and helping me share by passion with clinicians!
I'm so glad we could work together to help this population we are both so passionate about serving!
@@kharacroswaite Agreed!
This was such an awesome conversation! Thanks for having me on again Khara!
Thanks for this video!!! 🎉
Happy it could be timely for you!
Amazing video. Your content quality is very good but you aren't getting enough views. It's because of the lacking of the SEO of your videos. You should do the SEO of your videos to get more views and subscriber.
OMG DID YOU WRITE THIS FOR ME!?🥹
Sending you all the good thoughts if you've lost a client to suicide. It's definitely a life-changing event that we are bringing into the open for helping professionals.
I think my daughter seeing me currently being abused in front of her isn't good either. I'm somehow expected to put up with everything. If they want to call me a bad person so be it.
I'm sorry you are going through all of it, it's unbelievably hard on individuals and families.
Woo hoo! Way to go James! What an awesome! set of tips and points!
This was phenomenal 👏 thanks friend
So glad it was helpful!
This is important for people to see what financial therapy might look like. I feel so many couples also need help with financial issues. My relationship included.
So many couples can relate!
So helpful! Thank you!
Yay! I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Great conversation
I'm so glad you found it worthwhile!
Excellent topic. An audience can easily include the spouse of an estranged daughter. Maybe a husband to the my mom and the whole mom/daughter relationship? How do “I” help I don't understand?
Such a great point! I think there is so much people can think about to support someone who is estranged!
So useful
Thank you Jim! Cathy's trainings are something I'll be recommending to lots of Financial Therapist colleagues!
Thank you so much for this video!! Being scammed is something that NOBODY believes will happen to them...until it does. Unfortunately, the scammers are very good at what they do. Cathy is an excellent resource, whether for preventative measures or after the fact. And Khara, your information is incredibly helpful as well!! Thank you both. This information is very much needed
They are really good at what they do! I'm so glad this video could be empowering and helpful to folks who want to know more about how to protect themselves and receive support!
Thanks, Khara, I loved talking about this with you! 🙂
So grateful we could have this conversation!
Khara, thanks for creating this place to share thoughts about therapist self and beyond...appreciate all you do to resource therapists
Thank you so much Jim! So grateful to support therapists alongside you!
The two of you are rocking it. Keep going we need both of you.
Thank you Brenda!
Helpful video, this gap has always created challenges.
It really does! Thank you for watching!
What great information. Thank you for sharing it.
I'm so glad it was helpful! Looking forward to connecting tomorrow!
Really good vid! My precious father recently retired and idk if he’s honestly doing so great:/ We all need purpose and inspiration in our lives
That's a great point about purpose! I hope your father finds a passion to help him rediscover purpose in new way!
@@kharacroswaite me too!!! Thank you for sharing your strong and powerful energy 🤗 peace!
Is it better financially to be a non-profit when switching to an employee model?
Not necessarily! Nonprofits can raise funds to pay staff and sometimes be rewarded grants for funding which may or may not allow payment to staff. Employee models can be deployed in both for-profit and non-profit businesses
Hey thanks for that mention about professional wills, in addition to all of the valuable things the three of you are saying about having contingency plans for all kinds of scenarios, taking care of yourself, and being okay with not being okay. YES, stuff (LOL) happens, look at what you need to do to plan financially, and do a chicken check-in!! Love this video! Keep rocking these videos, Khara, Liliana and Alex :-) I'll keep you updated on that professional will material coming out soooooon!
Thank you so much Cathy! We are excited to share your resources!
