    Good video Doctor. I would also strongly advise you to look at the Rayner RayOne Galaxy IOL. This brand new IOL uses a brand new spiral technology. It’s rolling out in Europe now with some Clinics already using it. I believe Rayner are seeking US approval for sometime in 2025. Other than that I totally agree with your choices. The best new IOLs to land in Europe this year were the Tecnis Puresee and the Rayner Galaxy IOL. I totally agree with you about the Light Adjustable Lens. At the end of the day it’s a monofocal lens so I didn’t understand all the hype around it.

    I am a softwaredeveloper. Reading the whole day or working in offices with white walls everywhere. I had about 80 Floaters from each type, my eyedoctor says she never seen this much in 25 years. Thats my POV to start my story: I live in germany and believe it or not, its not possible (not allowed) to get atropine drops!! I had several laser vitreolisis, which where very helpful - no problem at all. But for the last 10% I do each day an exercise TCM from Austin Goh. I am 37yo and heared that the vitrctomy has so much dangers, especially in my age. Does anyone has experiences with that, long term?

    Hello Doctor, I am a junior eye doctor with myopia -5.75 BE. I am considering to undergo SMILE surgery. But I want to know whether if one of the post op complications such as glare or halo can disturb our vision when using slit lamp or operating microscope? Can ophthalmologists or eye surgeons undergo refractive surgery???

    Dr Cohen, thanks so much for the fantastic video. I am still debating between monofocal ( monovision). By any chance those lenses can be on one eye far/ intermediate and the other eye near/ intermediate? Are those lenses called differently? Im truly dizzy by researching for couple week now, need to decide. The other question about Vivity lenses- they are saying if anyone has autoimmune disorders or eye infections ( ex: HORDEOLUM) they are not candidates. Please help!!!! God bless you 🙏

    I decided to go with SMILE since I needed a fast recovery for lifting plenty of heavy garbage bags up a flight of stairs for my job. My vacation was only 3.5 weeks from work. I was two-weeks in post-procedure, already started lifting heavy, with no problems (so far). I am on going one month post-procedure now, and it was said that combat sports athletes prefer SMILE over lasik because there is "no flap" that can be ruptured getting hit, and after just a short 6 months, they could resume sparring again. I was a competitive amateur Boxer myself, and plan on coming back after a long, long layoff due to the pandemic (very last fight was February 2020). I hope I made the right decision choosing SMILE over Lasek/PRK. Hope everything goes well, and can't wait for month 6, and be back sparring.

    Apparently the case that I have is most likely tied to my horrible case of Crohn's as this is about the sixth autoimmune disorder I've had since I've gotten Crohn's actually I got colitis before Crohn's and colitis did most of the damage to me but Crohn's open the whole body up to attack. And mine certainly has been under it😢

    Well I am going with both eyes Mono Focal "distance". I get the right eye done on Nov 6th 2024. I don't mind wearing glasses, I have worn them all my life. Left eye will get done two weeks later. No way I wanted to do Mono Vision (one lens near, other distance). That would be too extreme to get used to. I hope all goes well.

    Please post a video explaining how you get crystal clear vision for near and far vision? I have recently heard from other guys on RUclips that there is no perfect lens! I have fine vision multifocal lenses myself and they are pretty horrible. Between ghost images, halos, glares and negative disphotopsias I would say my vision is worse then it was before I had my procedure. If I understand things right at the moment a multifocal lens does not give crystal clear vision. What lenses are you suggesting in this video? Thanks.

      There are a lot of new developments in this field. I just made a video explaining this process. It will go live next Sunday. But we had great success with patients that had problems with multifocal lenses using a procedure called Topography Guided PRK. Apparently, the problem is mostly on the cornea and lack not compatibility of it with the lens. Stay tuned for the upcoming video.

      ICL is usually for higher prescriptions. If you are a LASIK candidate you'll have better results with Contoura but if you're prescription is very high (> -7.00) you should consider ICL.

    Doctor, after cataract surgery I can see new floaters which look like a cloud with some darker area in the middle a bit brownish or greyish, and this area is clouded and I cannot see through it. Doctor said vitreous detachment, they are not worried. But I’m worried as I cannot see through it when it floats in the middle of my vision. They said I need to give it a time, but it’s been 3 months after operation. I’m 50 years old. Doctor, please tell me will they go away, move away or anything else? It’s not retinal detachment and not PCO according to the doctor. I’m taking Vitrocap N for 1 month, fish oil, magnesium, drinking lots of water, and having a course of potassium iodine drops. Will they ever move away or I will always see this dirt in front of my eyes? Doctor, can steroid drops dissolve this cloud in my eye? Doctor told me to stop using steroid drops a month ago. Do you think steroids left floating inflammation? But doctor said there is no uveitis, eye pressure was also under control. And is normal. Thank you for the video, I like the way you explain.

    • @doctorilancohen
      @doctorilancohen 23 дня назад

      Steroids will not work. You have to give it time. If it doesn't the laser or Vitrectomy are available options.
