At 15:47, I had no idea Sky Harbor Airport used to have that lady airport voice announcement! Now the voice announcements all sound so robotic.
Great footage of the old United - miss these days so much.
That was the uk🇬🇧 in 2000

12:13 Rare Airport Train footage with a lower pitched 1996-2002 Bill Murray voice
I was living in Portsmouth at this time and my wife was working on the top floor of the very tall building in the clip near the entrance to the dockyard. My first reaction to the video is the very different look to the country back then, fewer people seemed to be about, Brighton looked empty, and Portsmouth looked like a vast open area without the domination of tall buildings and Gunwharf now. Near empty trains, these days they seem packed no matter what time of day you travel.
12:42 CAREFUL ! Doors are closing and will not re-open. Please wait for the next train.
So true😁
Thanks so much for uploading your videos from the JNB-LHR route from the 1998 to 2001 era. If you have any more please keep sharing. Video of JNB at that time, especially at night, are so rare. I have many memories but only some blurry night photos from that time. I flew on the BA 744s on that route in 1995 and 1998, Air France in 1996 and 2001 via CDG and on SA’s 747s in 1999, 2002, 2005 before Swiss a340s in 2004 and 2008. It was such a great era with SA’s colourful 747 fleet and BA’s World Tails too. Glad you seemed to appreciate those overnight flights as much as I did! ✈️ 🇿🇦
Many thanks for sharing you amazing memories🙏 I also miss BA ethnic tail images of the 1999/2000s which Margaret Thatcher and most Brits were not very fond off...indeed JNB-LHR-JNB legs were awesome on both BA and SAA🇿🇦💎✈️👌
2001💀
Thank you
You're welcome
Great insight into a world that seems so similar to our own but was ever so different
Many thanks, my pleasure
Flown this route so many times. Ahhh the nostalgia and memories this brought back. Most recently flew BA 55 on the A380, but also happy memories on the A330 of SAA. Great video :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
any kids on the plane with their parents watching this movie would be told by their parents to take off the headphones and cover their eyes for the more adult scenes of titanic hehe.
Ha! Ha! Ha! the 'Big screen' version in World Traveler was edited🙈🙈 unless you were in First or Club World 😁😁😁
@@GMan380so they edited out the more adult scenes of the movie haha if you were in economy
@@GMan380if you were a kid in business class or first class and if they didn’t have personal tv’s in those classes at the time and that movie was playing, covering eyes it is
Fantastic bit of nostalgia for me having flown on that route many times. Just one note - that SAA 747 is an SP not a -400. No idea of the reg though!
Thanks for sharing and also for the correction🙏 I have traveled many times in the past on SAA 747s to LHR but not on the baby jumbo SP😁
the eurostar probably would have been faster overall.
true but ik which I would prefer
Great fun either way🚇✈ traveled on Eurostar from St Pancras to Gare Du Nord in 2010👌
AH THE NOSTOLGA
when london had respect
What has happened since?😭
According to 'My Flightpath' on my BA exec account, I was at Heathrow airport on the same day, flying a 747 to Philadelphia. Just one month later, two days after I arrived in Miami from LHR - again on a BA 747 -, the whole world changed forever.
Wow how amazing, thanks for sharing , indeed we could have boarded at adjacent T4 gates heading to opposite ends of the world ✈👌
Praise the Lord. From India
Mary conceived without sin, pray for us🙏
things were way different back then, now it takes about 5 hours to cross the border
....and lot more safer i guess, fun all the same👌
Thank you for this video. I was around 4 year old at the time and could have been in any of those trolleys because my mom at the time still didn't have a car yet. For some reason, one of my first memories is being at the city college station with my mom. Again thank you so much for this video :')
Thanks for sharing your beautiful memories🙏 lots must have changed since
cool to see how it looked like back then! thanks for posting def earned a sub
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the sub🙏
