One mistake: The Fiat 127 was based on the Autobianchi A112. Why? Because the A112 came earlier on the market (in 1969 to be precise). The 127 came only in 1971. As a student, I went all over Europe in the 1970 base A112 (44 hp), fully laden. 1 problem occured, the generator broke down. That's it. Top speed was 135 km/h, which was a bit hairy on left lane of the German Autobahn. But it drove like a comfortable kart. It was very noisy, though, but it had a very sporty noise. I loved that, back then. I remember the car oversteered a little in fast corners and on my trip through Europe in consumed only 5.6 l/100 km.

Toyota have produced sooo many icons through out the years that is saddens me they gave up on the GT Starlet and picked the Yaris in it's place. And for whatever reason they did the Yaris will NEVER be a fan favourite over the GT Starlet. More like the GR Starlet. Where I live me and my mates who are all into cars NEVER see a yaris. The name alone is crinch.

It looks as if at some point some small changes were made to the mall such as painting the color of the safety rails a very light greenish color indicative of the 90s or early 2000s. I always thought the color schemes of the 90s and 2000s were unappealing and the 80s style was much more appealing. The bars supporting the safety rails were originally white which went well with the original red and gold trim around the columns. It’s unfortunate there weren’t smart phones or iPhones in the 80s. There is so little good footage of these malls from back then. Most of the good footage of malls from the 80s are from movies and even that is sparse. Gwinnett place mall was gorgeous in the 80s and part of the 90s. Malls in the 80s had a certain magic to them that later malls didn’t have. And the only glimpse of that magic that young people today can see is from old movies from the 80s which is painfully limited. Today in America there is so much economic decay such as dying malls. Imagine an America where there was no decay or at least not commonplace. That was the 1980s or at least the first half of the 80s. You rarely ever smelled the smell of mildew and decay back then. You’d have to go to places like Harlem in New York to see decay. In the 1980s everything was fresh and magical and alive with neon everywhere enticing you into their shops and restaurants. The newness, energy, enthusiasm, and freshness was in the very air back then. You could smell it. You cannot get that from watching old movies. The 80s had a certain essence about it. Completely different from today.

That's true. That mall was doing really well before Mall of Georgia was built. After that, it was a losing that fight. When Discover (now Sugarloaf) Mills came up, it knocked out Gwinnett Place for sure.

My mom took me to that mall back when it first opened to the public 40 years ago & although I was real little at the time but I still remember that time very well & that mall was the place. I've been to it numerous times. The good o days. Today it only has 2 stores which are Macy's & JCPenney. I think it was 2001 was when that mall started falling because I saw some of the stores start disappearing in that year. The part where the food court & movie theater use to be at, I'm surprised they haven't torn that part down yet like they did the former Montgomery Ward & Sears parts because it's been closed & abandoned since January of last year. That JCPenney location there is going to be closing sometime soon because I saw a banner on the outside that said "Closing" on it when I drove past it recently. JCPenney filed bankruptcy not long ago.
