Hi Troy, this is a great subject and needs to be run to the ground; AI is presenting seen and unseen threats spiritually and morally. The key points that you and Rev Barry Richards have brought up are compelling and must be carefully thought out. Ethical rules must include the participation of humans and technology to complement each other. Rev Richards is correct: the wealthy will be wealthy and will get wealthier, and the majority of the population, working class, middle and upper middle class, will be compromised economically, socially, and spiritually. There is a way forward with well-thought-out rules and regulations as to the % and participation of humans vs. technology. We can foster significant advantages for the good of society and the word of God through transparency and serving all neighbors, not just a select few, who will take over control with AI if they are allowed to proceed unchecked. There is a lot of upside if we take the proper steps to moderate this powerful technology and stabilize the and narrow the disparity of financial wealth. So many subjects, challenges and opportunities to discuss and work out.

Mostly due to Calpers. Government employees retire with a golden ticket. Imagine getting about the same in retirement as paid when you were working? How sustainable is that? FireDept has a fun calculation after service of a certain number of years, they retire with the salary they made in their final year. So they game the system and get all the hours they can to make more in retirement than what they were making working. Granted it's a dangerous job but to retire with more than what you made working? Maybe they've adjusted this now but it was like that a few years ago.
