Just to set the record straight H.M.P Shrewsbury became a nonces jail in January 2010,but before that (for more than 200 years)it was a Cat B Local prison catering for local (mainly North Staffs)remand and short term prisoners,after being sentenced prisoners would usually be shipped out to bigger prisons like Stafford,Featherstone,HMPs Birmingham or Liverpool or if you were lucky a nice cushy Cat D prison like HMP Sudbury.There was a seperate smaller wing "C Wing" which housed Nonces,Grasses and Debt heads. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

The best thing about The Dana was the food,for a prison it was lovely,better than anywhere else I went.And it was a Stokie jail,Gwooon Stoke,but all the screws were local and the majority of them hated Stokies🤣
