Rise of the Christian Empire | Battle of the Milvian Bridge - Cinematic History
Witness the epic countdown between Constantine the Great and Maxentious at the battle of the Milvian bridge in 312 A.D.
After years of peace and prosperity, the Roman Empire, once the mightiest state in the world, would face the crisis of the 3rd century. Barbarian invasions and civil wars plagued the Romans until a series of emperors, culminating with Diocletian, set the world afloat once more. But Rome would emerge as a completely new entity out of the crisis on an economic, political and spiritual level: Diocletian in 293 AD opted to split the empire in four parts, hoping to better administer the state. At the same time, Christianity spread throughout the urban centers.

They were bad a** warriors.
The so called emperor, will have been made to pay back for his transgression; perhaps still is.
Montanism was a heresy that sprung up during the late 2nd century in the Roman Empire. Its roots can be traced in central-western Anatolia, in Phrygia, near the town of Pepuza. There, Montanus, a man of questionable ethics, declared that the Messiah's second coming was closer than ever. To support these claims, he and his female companions Prisca and Maximilla claimed to be able to go through prophetic visions, while possessed by the holy spirit. Rarely persecuted and thanks to Montanu's stunts, the heresy spread to many parts of the Roman empire, even in the West, where separate branches developed. The heresy slowed its momentum as years went by since their prophecies would not deliver, but were still around in the 8th century when the Eastern Roman emperor Leo ordered the destruction of their last holdout. Heresy basically describes the whole history of the Byzantine Empire
Impressive how arianism spread so much due to its theological simplicity
Exactly. Also it's worth mentioning that the intellectual elite adopted it as it was similar to trendy at the time neo-platonic ideas of the Devine.
How did they win?
Aetius knew very well how Attila fought. He picked a high ground with harsh terrain in front. This slowed down Attila's heavy cavalry and made manuevers of its light cavalry, like horse archers, much more difficult. He kept the Roman and allied forces in a solid defensive formation, until the Hunns completely committed their troops and then, after being bogged down, he counter attacked with Visigothic cavalry. Aetius was unparalleled when it came to strategy and even politics at the time.
@@ProjectGlorious thanks, didn't know that the Huns could get outmanuevered 😭 Please do a video on Attila and Aetius I love your style!!
THE DEMON WAS DESTROYED
Ironically, it was much more preferable for the Romans for a boogey man to exist beyond the Roman borders to keep the Germans inside in check. That's why Aretius didn't pursue them after defeating them decisively
I think the bloodthirsty Zeus was more ruthless than Baal hammun when it comes to civilians, semitic God of War is not Baal it is Molc
There are many documented sources mentioning human and especially child sacrifices to Baal, while in the name of Zeus the sacrifice of cattle was more common. It's worth noting though that there have been indeed some instances of human sacrifice in the name of the god of thunder too although that was extremely rare in the ancient world.
I like how they are ranked according to how destructive they have been to Rome 😅
Hey its in revelations see it has already happened more than once
Carthage 🇹🇳
They are iranian...persian
Yes! Some people mistakenly believe Parthians have been Turkic or of other nomadic origin but in reality they have been culturally and linguistically Iranians!
Interesting. I always wondered what REALLY happened. I love history. You tell the story well.

The new Roman tactics also ensured that they could maintain and control the territorial gains they had. They no longer have the ability in that part of Asia with their tactics to gain any more ground for territory making it a stalemate against the Parthian Kingdom.
What's amazing is that Romans have been fighting back and forth with the Iranian empires for so long and nobody could permanently take the upper hand, until the Arabs came to break the stalemate
Correct both! Subscribe to learn more on how Rome subdued its most deadly enemies
