Oh my heavens thank you!

The struggle is real here! So I try to fit it into my schedule wheee it matches like washing make up brushes on a Tuesday that I clean the bathrooms if I have extra time, or after doing my skin care in my evening routine! Errands are TOUGH especially with a 9-5 when you leave before anything is open and get off after everything is closed! Grocery run I could do after work or order pickup/delivery in the city but anything else was tough. If I got tasks built up on something like desk work then I’d use one of the 15 mins on either Monday or Saturday I normally do zone cleaning on, to take care of it.

Being 5 weeks postpartum now (my YT videos are a bit behind since I recorded ahead in anticipation of baby) my house needs some catching up! I’ve only been able to keep up on dishes, and baby’s laundry. 😂

I would still do a tablespoon. 🥰 And yes! You can totally add essential oils in, Fels-Naptha does have a little fragrance so you’ll just want to match it to that!

I agree! It made me sick to throw away so much. Since this video was recorded I was able to implement a much better system of cooking meals so that I could freeze leftovers to eat later. I was a newlywed when recording, and NOT used to cooking for two instead of my family of six. 🤣😅

Yess! I still put on lace up shoes as well! That and a bra 😜 for some reason both just make me a much more productive homemaker! 🤣 I love how Flylady built in self care tasks to her routine, they are so crucial!

Good to know! I’ll have some videos like that coming up. They’ll be called “Nest with Me” and will have a little bit of cleaning, and then the nesting I’m doing in prep for baby! And then some point some full day of homemaking ones. But these will definitely be sticking around too for those that love ‘em. I’ll get the best of both worlds in there.

That is SUCH a great tip! I need to get a food processor, it would make things sooo much easier, and smoother! I think I heard for a while that Fels Naptha was bought by "Summit Brands" you can buy them in bulk on their website but they were definitely a little harder to come by in stores for a while which made me sad! Fels Naptha is my go-to for getting so many stains out!

Thanks for the info on Fels Naptha. I've heard of another laundry soap called Zote or is it Zoat? It's pink and I've seen bloggers use that in the same/similar recipe as you've show here. I wonder how widely available Zote would be. I suppose it could depend on what part of the country one lives as to which one is easier to find. @@DomesticDaydreams

Yes! I have heard Zote is good too! Summit Brands bought it also when the acquired Fels Naptha and I think Zote is what they are pushing to sell more! I’d imagine it works just as well. 💗

@@DomesticDaydreams No way! That’s so great! Fun anecdote: growing up we were in a very small house, all our rooms were on the same hall. So, we’d put a cassette player out in the hall and play Old Time radio shows at night so we all could listen together. Suspense and the Shadow being favorites ! It was always an argument over whose turn it was to get out of bed and turn the cassette around 😂.

Oh my heavens thank you so much!! Yesss the meal kits have been a game changer for us. And since it’s just two of us eating right now, I’m able to freeze half the portions when I make anything and have a freezer meal for later since most recipes make enough for 4 people!

I so agree, it always bothered me so much, and I hated having to constantly look up the calendar on her website in order to see what zone we’re on (I’m a tad forgetful) so having it on my own rotating system without it being tied to a calendar has been a game changer for me!

Zones 1&5 are easy clean areas: entrance & living room. That's why they are done on partial weeks. Kitchen as Zone 1 would never work on FlyLady system. This is a highly used, high traffic area and needs attention in a full week.

Oh my heavens I am so so happy you found my channel. Girl I can so relate to this! I got married a little later in life (well, in my culture! Haha) and I remember it being so hard how badly I wanted to be a homemaker but felt like I had no one to make a home for. So I started doing it for myself as an act of self-love/love for my home. I figured I’d just start becoming the homemaker I always wanted to be before I even got to “be her” in the traditional sense of the word. I’ve found so much joy in homemaking, and I’m so so happy to connect with someone else that feels the same way. Creating a haven on earth, especially with all the craziness in the world is truly a beautiful thing! 🥰❤️

Oh my heavens welcome!! It makes my day to hear that! It was inspired by the phrases “Domestic Engineer” or “Domestic Manager” that I’d hear growing up. But I still love feeling dainty, so finally landed on “Domestic Darling.” For the Vintage vibes. 😅🥰

I work out of the home! BUT the whole routine only takes me 30 minutes when I’m doing it consistently because things don’t get as messy. If I get behind it takes an hour tops, and then I’m caught up again. One of my subscribers is a single mama who works outside of the home and she says she just does the routine in 30 minutes before she leaves for work, and it’s been a game changer for her!
