It's been 2 years & no one has contributed any comments, so I will. I agree that "Mad Doctor Of Blood Island" doesn't contribute much in the way of thrills, & that zooming camera is annoying. This is my least favorite out of the 4 Blood Island films that Eddie Romero had a hand in. "Brides Of Blood" is my first favorite, followed by "Beast Of Blood", then "Terror Is A Man", & lastly this movie. Surprisingly Sam Sherman (co-producer/distributor) said this movie is his favorite out of the Blood Island films.

In 1984, I earned my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and, I had just started my 7-year career in the U.S. Air Force as an officer working on the design, development, and procurement of Space System projects. I always enjoy watching this film because, of the way it uses both comedy and humor to highlight "Defense Department" procurement during the 1980's. My two favorite scenes are 1st) When the engineer steals the design from his kids toy, to ensure the electrical weapons system on the tank will work even at a high temperature; 2nd) In the battle field when, the weapon system over heats and, his added on part saves the lives of the tank crew (smile ... smile).

I remember actually seeing this in the theater against my will because my mom was a huge Eddie Murphy fan. I then caught it here and there on HBO randomly over the years but..overall after a recent viewing, I just think its more or less 'standard' as far as comedies of the day used to go. Take out the Murphy bits, its almost unrecognizable from any of the other Dudley Moore movies back then.

54 years old nowadays and I saw This Maybe A First time On The Movie Chanell....Chanell or HBO or some channel on cable years ago. I remember very few things about it since and I rewatched most of It again like a year or more ago too. So Oddly I can only remember A few scenes only seemingly so. Not braggingly but almost every movie I can remember , pretty much. A Movie Fan among many other things since a Kid I Am. I just remember It wasn't Funny much and again Forgettable. Oddly as So With Dudley Moores Other "mental asylum" comedy Crazy People In 1990 that Also seemingly Vanished through Time Too. Or Unconditionally Yours in 1984 and Lovesick in 1983 also. Which thanks to a projectionist Freind Got To see Both At Their Times For Free in Theaters Too. ? Outside my Freind I Also Saw Both Arthur movies in theaters as well too. Dudley was Great But again SO Oddly Most of his movies Are Like Uncharted By Besides maybe The Cable Chanell nowadays called Screenpics would show these movies again but don't know if they already have or not. Its a retro movie channel , no commercials too and they have a few different channels too.

@@Bloody_bucketin this specific case he is tho. DIMA has replaced one person and if confronted plans to do so again. Nobody in Acadia objects to this enough to stop it. He is proof positive that even without the institute pulling the strings synths are simply dangerous and even the logic of “identified Synths are safe” falls apart when they can so easily change their appearance and memories. My first run was Railroad and I had a lot of sympathies to the Synth cause. But who’s to say DIMA’s legacy wouldn’t inspire more and more replacements. After all people will notice if Avery lives forever, and she’s the only one keeping the peace. Synths being people doesn’t negate the fact that with the notable exception of Nick they highly prioritize themselves over other humans to an extremely unethical degree at times. Even within the Railroad Glory tries to push the narrative that Gens 1&2 must be saved despite being less sophisticated than a Mr.Handy. Why SHOULD a synth refuge built on blood stand?

Something that both times is over the objections of the synth to be. A foundation of Blood cannot stand. Not all synths perhaps, but Acadia 100% can’t be tolerated
