The greatest piece of advice you'll ignore when you need it most
A sport for adults. Hurling. Everyone gets a bat like that, (a hurley/hurl) and yes you may get beaten if you're closest to the sliotar (ball). But as you see he's got a protection beard on, and that's allowed.

Perhaps I am a silly American hurler, but how can you guarantee that your shots arc? When I strike the ball it seems like the ball goes in a straight line. I am certain that my technique is not the best, I struggle with the wristy action that you have in your swing.

Interesting. I think most lads are stepping depending on their own hurley holding hand i.e. stepping left and then right if holding the hurley in their right hand to keep that hand furthest away from the defender
Yeah, everyone’s different.. This is just what I’d be coaching to fellas and trying to do myself.. Since i lost all the speed, I’ve had to think a lot more about what’s the most efficient form of movement 😂
