Model Rocket Day 2024
Every year, Waterloo Rocketry hosts our annual model rocket competition! This event is a chance for first year students and new members to learn about the basics of rocketry and try their hand at building their own rockets! Tennessee and Kentucky Recovery Test Vlog

The 3D printed prototype of the airbrakes system onboard Borealis is alive! Just as I was leaving the site I could hear a launch, and from the rumble of the post purge I could tell it was a liquid rocket which meant only one thing- you guys did it!

This is sooooo cool, congrats team!
looks like devil unleashed from hell. how do you pressurize? is it pump or pressure-fed? electric or turbo, if its turbo which cycle? its not common to see small scale liquid rockets with a turbopump.
It's actually self pressurizing Nitrous Oxide. We have a tank heating system to warm up the mixture in case we're not up to pressure. To learn more about the entire static fire, see this vlog: ruclips.net/video/_bphZkszIes/видео.html.

Propellants are nitrous oxide (self-pressurizing) and ethanol (pressurized with nitrogen gas)

Oh man, we were out on recovery when they were shooting the tank. They told all the teams to stay still, and a couple of teams to lie down on the ground until further notice! They didn't tell us why, either.
