You've encountered 3 of the 4 deaths in the game (the fourth being your car getting stolen which, as you correctly surmised, happens when you neglect to lock it). In easy mode, there are no deaths (the car doesn't get stolen unless you have retrieved the kit and you can continue the mission, the alarm button is defective, and the guard doesn't shoot you but tries to arrest you upon which you shoot him with his own gun). The reason the worm and bird seemed "out of place" was because they are the only sprites that are not in double-pixel mode, unlike everything else in the game.

Wow! It's been 20 years since I made this game and it still frustrates people to this day!

The melody to play was on the back wall of the church this whole time! Congrats for finishing the game. You encountered the same two main issues as everyone else: 1) missing the arrow to scroll down the dialog options 2) missing the button next to the tinted glass. Since it's a demo there's no plan to fix those defects.

This game came out around the year I was born and I just started trying it on Windows 98 under Dosbox X. The only way I could get it to run was by copying all the files to a hard drive folder and saving my games to it. But at least it works.

Ahh the nostalgia. I used to love playing this game. I had it on console but I recently played the pc version which has uncut content that was not on console version. Also, when the female detective is on the Tarakan you can click on her ass and she tells you off for it lol...do it again and you get a cutscene of you handing in your badge. There are actually a few different things you can do and see in the game depending on the some of the choices you make, some of them pretty creepy, for instance, in one of the chapters depending on the choices made you can look out your apartment window at night and see a woman holding an umbrella looking at your window but then walks off. In another there are spooks in a car watching your apartment and then they quickly drive off when you look through the blinds. Then there are other little things too, for instance if you click on paranoid in your first interaction some things change in the game such as wongs body twitching for a second when you look at him on the operating table. You can also give the Alien book you find in Mulders rented apartment back to the lady at the desk for an extra interaction, or you can just keep pressing the bell to annoy her 😅 There is also a little asian girl by the gumball machine on your left as you first walk into the Inn and you can buy her a gumball 😜 During the cutscene when Scully is on the phone to you at the airport you can click your gun and quickly shoot at the woman who passes by Scully which will show you a photo of the game developers. Also you can type the names of the developers into the criminal background checker on your computer, you can also type in a certain swear word on the ING to show one of the developers but I forgot what the word was. Also you do not have to shoot at the NSA agents in Alaska, you can try to run from them and hide in the forest or turn around when they chase you in the forest and shoot them. I have tried so many different things in this game. There was a time when I kept playing it over and over again. 😝

(Warning: spoilers below) Pretty good game actually! I wasn’t expecting to like it, and except for a few cheesy parts (like the Scooby Doo “ghost”, or Owen miraculously popping out at the end with the helicopter, or even William’s idiotic reason behind all the killings (bored little rich guy? Really??), etc., etc.), it was a lot of fun to play. Some really cute Easter eggs in there too. You’re right, this game DOES remind me a bit of Colonel’s Bequest (minus spying in the secret passages), and there actually is a cute Laura Bow reference if you try to listen at the grate, haha. Anyway! Thanks for sharing this game-I missed a point somewhere too but it was nice of the dev to show the extras regardless. Just subbed and will follow your other videos too…it looks like you play some good games that aren’t necessarily mainstream, which I really like. Cheers 🙃 Edit: I also noticed that you must be playing an earlier version of the game because in my version, the word “Eskimo” has been replaced with “Inuit”, and also in the deleted scenes (after you win the game), the parts where Dr. Chin Lee’s name is mispronounced over & over again has been completely taken out, lol. Makes sense though, as it’s not very PC to make fun of Chinese names like that…so good on the dev for changing those parts.
