It’s 2023, and I’ve just found it by chance on RUclips. Thank you ever so much for this. The sound comes from Conny Veit’s electric guitar, as this kind of guitar work is also heard on Popol Vuh’s ‘Hosianna Mantra’ album. It’s haunting and melancholic. I keep thinking of the scene of Aguirre during the final part of the movie on the raft.

I'd almost given up finding this little piece of music outside of the audio that accompanies the brutal Torrents that foreshadow everything to come.
