Ironically, the act of publicly sharing his philanthropy on this platform betrays the anonymity of his altruism. There’s nothing wrong with feeling good about doing good deeds. The important thing is the good deed itself and how much benefit it has for others - everything else is a harmless byproduct. Indeed, it could be argued that being motivated by ethics rather than personal gratification is in itself personally gratifying ( in other words, it makes you feel good). I’m sure most Buddhists would agree.
