This is such a bullshit video. Do not waste your time cuz he only talks about how to keep the class behave. Not a technical video at all
Thank you very much .I am from Ethiopia I want to learn the details of Moodle from the scratch .
So this works well with mathematical formulas and/or equations?
Can the teachers texts in the response template be locked to prevent editing?
Visual Studio Code Version 176.0 is operating differently on Linux. I see your extensions and I installed them. But they are not giving me a preview on the right side.
Thank you. Please can you use it to create tables in your questions
Ctrl + K V - is no longer a command :( - I am unable to use this super feature which is a shame :(
Thanks for that tip. I haven't had to use Moodle for some time so I wasn't aware. I'm would guess they might have an alternative key combination though
This is amazing. Thank you so much
What's your WhatsApp number
Very helpful, thanks a lot. I have been struggling to create this type of question.
You didn´t really explain alot of things
Hello @Bee R. Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry that some things you needed to understand weren't clear in the video. Is there anything specific that you might need help with?
sure like how do students interact considering that the chat message is very small. Also how do you upload or download pdf documents
Oh okay. If I understood your first question correctly, I would not allow students to interrupt the flow of the presentation until I was done. Once the presentation was over, they could chime in with questions and contributions. Between lectures I kept the group chat open for students to interact with each other within the context of the course. However, unless there was something particularly interesting to them, they rarely interacted in the group apart from asking questions. There are several possible reasons why interactions were limited but I think one of the major ones is that WhatsApp is not an ideal platform for forum discussions. Students can easily chat over each other and the conversation becomes difficult to follow. Having a learning management system with a "forum" feature (e.g., Moodle or Canvas) may be helpful for more productive student interactions. As for uploading and downloading PDFs, WhatsApp allows you to attach files. If I remember correctly the term they use for that is "documents" and it can be used to attach basically any type of file (including video and audio) up to a certain size limit (100mb maybe). Where the document attachment button is located will differ depending on the platform that you are using (android, iOS, web or desktop). Once you find it and tap on it, you would need to navigate to your PDF file using a file explorer on your device and simply attach it. Downloading PDFs from WhatsApp requires just a simple tap on the file and it will download. I hope I understood your questions correctly and gave a helpful response. If not, please feel free to reach out again.
thanks for this! Can this also set jay jumps? the default is "This Page" can this be set to "Next Page" using this format?
Hey Jinsen. I've not been using Moodle for some time because I changed jobs. Unfortunately because of this I am unable to test this out and give you a solid response
Great audio and content
It is not live teaching.
It's a compromise solution designed to address the low data issues in developing countries. While it is not a Zoom replacement, you can get great engagement once the chat is open for comments 😊
Thank for your video, can you help me how turn off Number the choices (a,b,c) in all question? Thank you
Hello, would you still need help?
I was going crazy trying to see the preview - Awesome - just what i needed. I am trying to convert cambridge FCE and Advanced exams into this moodle quiz format. This helps me on my way.
Thanks a lot. Found it helpful.
I am sure that you yourself don't understand what you are saying...
Hello Yasir, thanks for your feedback. Is there something specific in the video that you think I need to improve on?
Nice! Thanks!
Be blessed 🙌 really appreciate
Can we add time attempt for each section?
Hello @ain Nabil, I don't think that's possible but I could be wrong
Hi, is it possible to import already created questions to this visual studio? So that the quiz can be created quickly, instead of us typing in the questions..
Hello Doc, yes it's possible. You can copy and paste the questions into Visual Studio Code and continue editing in there
Thank you for sharing. Very helpful.
You're welcome. I'm glad the tutorial was helpful. All the best!
Thank You!

Now do you add teacher on whatsapp
Hello @johnny mongan If you have a teacher to add to the group you can do so by either adding them directly or by sending them an invite link. You might also consider making them a group administrator
Hello, sir. I'm very grateful for this tutorial, only one question is it possible to insert picture in the question?
Thanks for the feedback And Rudn. At the moment I don't think it's possible to add pictures using this method. That would have to be done directly on the learning management system. The Gift format seems to be tailored for fast creation of text-based questions
Thank you for this video has been very helpful
I'm glad it helped, have a great day!

Hi thank you for your video, is there a way one can edit an essay work in moodle? thank you!
Hey Gladys, thanks for reaching out. I hope you're safe and well. Would you like to edit an essay question or to grade the essay submissions of students?
@@TechforLecturers thank you too for your quick response, I teach English and I would like to edit students essays, not the question, but their responses.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm assuming that this is in the context of the quiz activity. From what I know, it may not be possible to edit their responses directly, especially if they respond using the Atto editor (i.e. they're typing their essay into the text box on Moodle). That being said, you can set up the essay question such that students can submit file uploads and then allow them to submit Microsoft Word documents that you can then download and grade offline. This would allow you to track changes and then send the corrected file back to the student as you enter their grades (I'm guessing it should be possible to upload file responses as you manually grade quizzes but I'm away from my computer so I might need to check on this later). If I misunderstood your question, feel free to reach out again, it's early morning around here so I'm still warming up to the brand new day 😂
@@TechforLecturers helpful, thanks alot.
After adding the question how to display this to students
Thanks for this tutorial. I didn’t know you could do this with visual studio code. Very nice.
@AccessToPower you're welcome, thanks for reaching out!
This is brilliant. Well done. This is how to do more with less. Leverage in action. Well done.
Hi thank you so much for the video. Can we add sectional time limit for the sections also.
Hey Anil. That's a good question, I'm not sure, I might need to check on that
Thanks! That's very useful.
thanks for you video. However, you should only multipart for essay type question. What about short answer questions? numerical question?
@Astronomy Vanier thank you for your kind words. As for the question, you can use the Embedded Answers (Cloze) question type for short answer and numerical questions. Would you like a tutorial on that?
@@TechforLecturers Yes, please. I am struggling to figure out all of this

@@TechforLecturers Thank you so much. Please could you tell me how you created the square presentation slides? They fit really well onto WhatsApp. Thank you.
Hello again, I must've have used a free tool called Canva (bit.ly/GetStartedonCanva). While you can use PowerPoint, Canva has many awesome templates and it's quite a pleasure to use honestly. When you login, you should see a prominent button labeled 'Create a design' When you tap on it, scroll through the options and select 'Presentation (4:3)' That should work well as it isn't too wide, while still allowing you a little extra space for text than a perfectly square slide. Once you're done you can download the slides as images, as a PDF or as a PowerPoint file
@@TechforLecturers That is incrediby helpful!! I tried to make a presentation slide on Canva yesterday, but missed the 4:3 selection and that fact that you can download them as images. That's great. Thank you again!! :-)
@@TechforLecturers I've just DONE IT!!! I now have the first 3 slides for my first lesson!! They look great. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. I have an writing assignment that students did in class before lockdown. I collected and graded the hardcopies. I would like to add an offline assignment so that I can return scanned versions of their annotations and enter their score in the Moodle gradebook. Can I do this?
Hello Andrew, I'm so sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier. Were you able to get around this?
Good Teacher. Thank you so much. I learned a lot. WhatsApp cheaper and easier to use in African used in African compared to Google. Will share this video/tutorial.

Yes you can use notepad but I think you'll like the easier method that I demonstrate in my latest video. You can watch it here ruclips.net/video/Pl5SKkI8l9U/видео.html
I used snipping tool on each slide and saved as image file. Worked like a charm. Thanks 🙏
That's great to hear. I hope you'll make a huge impact on your students for time and eternity! Be blessed!
Seeing you saved all of your powerpoint slides as images. Did you just take a screen shot (print screen) of each slide in slideshow mode? Or is there an easier way?
I used Canva to make the slides then exported them as images but you can also do that in PowerPoint by navigating to: File --> Save As --> Change the file type to JPEG or PNG --> Save A dialog box will then pop up asking if you want to export the current slide or all slides. Select "All Slides" and you'll be all set If you would like a visual demonstration I would be happy to record a video of the process for you. Have a great day!
