Beautiful Aline to ALInENet
A splendid video. Very relaxing and great scenery. Thank you. I enjoyed every minute.
I was watching your video with a big open eyes and redness on my face. Amazing beauty of north west Scotland. Have been sailing this year to Oban and through the Caledonian Canal but Hebrides are so special. Magic Skye Island - so beautiful. I must sail there before I die. Thank you for sharing. I want to ask you about anchorages - how do you know what kind of bottom you have - sandy or rocky and if you use only 1 anchor or have 2 to sleep whole night in peace?
A fabulous video. Not a word spoken and still so informative and it gives of the perfect essence of cruiseing. I have a lot to learn from you. Thank you so much. Best regards from Jarle
You should be glad you did this 2022 and didn’t leave it until 2023 Well done
Wow! Excellent video and stunning photos👍🏻…. Waited right to the end to see if either of you made an appearance 🤷🏼♂️😂😂 see you soon Ian & Karen
I remember using one of the sailing clubs moorings and the strong wire cables. A northerly came in and I understood. That was not a full gale that time but I spent quite a few stressful moments on my Elizabethan 23 through the night! The power of nature is something that can catch anyone out.
You kind of expect this in places like Florida where they know they get serious weather coming through on a regular basis, but Hollyhead and in fact England and Wales is really not known for it the same. Climate change is happening. I feel for the boat owners.
Wonderful video. I know some of the places from having sailed from Crinan to Tobermory about 20 years ago and a few others from cycling as a teen 40 years ago and this video brings back so many memories. Then there are so many places I have not visited too. I wonder whether I will ever manage to visit them.
Thank you
Lovely views and good sailing grounds. Thanks for this.
Bonnie Albán!
My favourite home sailing area.
A delightful video, you perfectly capture why Scotland's west coast is known as some of the best sailing ground in the world. This brought back loads of great memories of all the places we visited the summer we spent here a few years ago. Thanks!
Thank you for your comments. We agree that it is a beautiful area to sail. 👍
Beautiful filming and photography. Makes you want to get back up North! ⛵️
Thank you for your kind comments. 👍
Love your video , great job!
Thank you 👍
Beautiful video. Totally on my bucket list - just have to get the wife onboard !!
Thank you. I'm sure your wife will love it 👍
Very enjoyable I am planning the same trip in summer 2023. I'd be interested to know what the sail is called at 0:37 and again at 9:15 and what weight is the material, as it looks like a double genoa. It looks a lot easier than flying a spinnaker single handed.
Than you 👍The headsail is a Elvestrom Blue Water Runner. It is both a twin headsail and can be used as a large genoa. It's mounted on a cable with its own furler. It can be seen mounted but furled away on picture at 22:15 also shown as a genoa at 20:58. Here is a link to the official Elvestrom video. ruclips.net/video/Ip5oW4TZz4Q/видео.html
@@svfornautic1641 Thanks for the link, that is very useful. I may need to take a closer look at that sail.
You are very welcome. From our experience ( we sail double handed ) It is easier to handle than a spinnaker with snuffer, with the added bonus that it can be reefed by furling in as my furler locks in any position.
Wonderful pictures - thanks!
Thank you 👍
👍🦘 gorgeous
Thank you 👍
Nice indeed - what kind of boat is it?
Hi Frank. She is a Hallberg-Rassy 37
@@svfornautic1641 Thanks - That‘s what I thought, but wasn‘t sure
Watching this was a brief window of escape from a crazy world. Delightful - thanks for sharing! Mak.
Thank you Mak, your comments are much appreciated 👍
A really nice video with amazing photos. It was a pleasure to watch. Udo
Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. All the best, Steve
Beautiful video , thank you for sharing.
Thank you.
Excellent video, we did pretty much the same trip last summer, brought back some memories! Skye bridge never seems high enough! Looks like Plockton was bumpy for you, we were there in a southerly gale when it afforded excellent shelter. Please can you tell me what the black covering on your kicker is? We have some block damage on the gas strut from the block having whacked it, this would seem a good way of covering up the damage. Thanks.
Hi Robert. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your comments. Plockton wasn't too bad at all. It wasn't much of a blow. The kicker has carbon fibre scuff protection stickers on. Lots of different types are available on Amazon. All the best. Steve
Nice video, I'd like to take a trip like this myself one day. Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Very nice video. I liked that you simply used music and the pictures. We have visited the west coast of Scotland and the Hebrides and you touched on many places we have been. Thank you for the memory trip. (Jim K, Michigan, USA)
Thank you very much for your kind words, much appreciated. Cheers Steve
Remember "Capt. Ron" That was me back i the 20's and 30's. One thing I seemed to be pretty good at was fiberglass work. I knew how not to itch but I still hated it but people kept offering me pocket fulls of money to fix their boats then they would send me more customers. It never failed too, if there was going to be a hurricane, it was inevitable that I would be there when it hit. When Hurricane BOB hit long island I ended up getting stuck there doing fiberglass work in the winter in a building too big to heat no less. I was planning to be in mexico that winter.
quelle tristesse ....
Wow heart breaking to see mother nature's violence ...😣😢
Whoooo hoooo...look at all those good used boat parts, it's not a tragedy. This kinda stuff keeps me able to afford my boat😁😍
Boats have soles :( this is very said..
right, soles and floors...
Battleaxe, rather ironic. Such a shame.
Sad viewing, but thankfully only property damage, no human casualties. Insurance companies will most likely cover the salvage and pay out for the losses.
😢
😔
We lost my great grandfather's sailboat "New beginnings" in this storm....
So sad to see all the damage.
Holyhead is a town in Wales
I know, i moor there
@@svfornautic1641 - My comment was intended for the 13,000 people who don't know where you moor.
A well produced video
This is such a shame for all, especially the owners of the boats, I hope they get sorted out as soon as possible.
Just so sad ;(
Sad to see all the damage but at least no lives lost
Heartbreaking to watch but great footage you've managed to capture.
Sailing SV Compromise Thanks Gav. Hope the Moody hunt is progressing well
It's going ok thanks Steve 👍🏼
Steve how is Fornautic? I have just seen an horrendous video of the marina at Holyhead. I really hope everything is ok! Gav
Sailing SV Compromise Hi Gav. Thank you for your concern, much appreciated. Fornautic is fine as she is on the hard but the marina pontoons are pretty much destroyed. I have offered to go and help but they are waiting for improved weather and the loss adjusters to arrive. Up to 80 boats damaged. Thanks again for thinking of us Gav.
Phew glad she's ok Steve, really feel for those affected. It's awful!
Gav has family in Holyhead, it's lovely. Nice video.
Sailing SV Compromise , Thank you. We found your channel last night, so only watched a couple of episodes so far but it looks good. We look forward to seeing how your search progresses. If you are ever in Holyhead, give us a shout, would be great to catch up. All the best Steve
SV Fornautic Your Rassy looks a very nice boat Steve. Yes we are still at the early stages just yet. Got our DS practicals in April and continuing to look at boats. We do like Holyhead, spent plenty of time there, we will give you a shout when we go next. Gav
