this album is kind of a modern indie masterpiece... Too bad it isn't on Spotifty. A lot of people only go out of their way to discover music through there. Maybe one day

Jaurim were just emerging when I was in Seoul in 1997 and were very much performing traditional rock as opposed to bands like Pipi Band and Deli Spice which were more of the indie band movement. Kim Yu Na has one of the best female rock and roll voices in any language and is tough yet feminine in the same way as Patti Smith or Chrissie Hynde. Backing her are excellent musicians on guitar and rhythm section. The first two albums, Purple Heart and Vol. 2, are very rock focused with some great torch rock songs like An-yong Mimi. By this point they are not content to stay simply in the confines of rock format and seek to branch out stylistically, contributing to film soundtracks etc., yet I think they are most powerful when they stick to what they know best.

I used to be such a huge fan of All Time Low and just found out about Royal Pirates a couple months ago and I gotta say this album really reminds me of All Time Low.

This is some of the best music I've heard in a while... I'm super depressed that I found Royal Pirates after James left. :(
