This is an amazing machine, and invaluable training!
25 years on these. Even with new advances in CNC, these machines are still able to outproduce other machines.
Turkiyeden selamlar çalışması izlemesi en güzel makina her bir yanından sanat incelik akıyor
Very cool video. Definitely filmed before operators were unwilling to get their hands oily.
Thank you
Idk if you still make videos or are active on youtube but if you are could you find some videos on wickmans?
Very good
Thank you for sharing these. My father was a mechanical engineer and decided after losing his job in the early 80s to buy a running machine shop business in Chicago where we lived when I was a youth. He set up and ran the B&S machines that were in the shop and knew them well. When I was older, I ran and operated the new Hardinge CNC machines with the GE Fanuc controls. This B&S machines were amazing mechanical marvels, but needed cams made to do specific jobs. They were also quite noisy with the motor and all the mechanical “hammering” of things like the turret as they would operate.
Any videos for CriDan threading machines? Please. I crave knowledge
Similar a lo que yo trabajo
At 11:03 I think the "g or h" is for the external threads and "G or H" is for internal threads.
These knurling tools do a really great job and can easily be adapted to a regular engine lathe. I have one with the 1" shank which fits perfectly into a 1" boring bar holder in the BXA tool post. I'm not sure what size of knurl would require a 1/4 turn adjustment on each knurl but that is WAY too much for the 30 pitch knurls I have. I need only about .010" of movement total for a perfect knurl. That's just under 1/4 turn total (only adjust 1 side). The easiest way to set it up, if you have the extra material, is to turn a short section of material to .010" under the finished diameter of the part you intend to knurl. Then move the knurls in to make contact with this undersized surface.
Just what I needed this morning. Thanks!
Have any acme screw machine or goss delueew 1-2-3 videos? Use to work in a machine for years and they had lots of state of the art cnc machines but also a bunch of dinosaur age machines that i had start out on. They were rough on the body but i learned many hard skills that i still use to this day. Running a davenport and acme machine at the same time was always a nightmare of trouble shooting haha
3:37 - they mangled those screws. . . Replace them with allen cap screws.
Show me how to grind a box tool by hand and I'll be impressed. sincerely, the tool maker
I ran these machines for 4 years before moving into the tool room. Now I make cutting tools for our whole shop. The beauty behind a good Brown & Sharpe 00 or #2 is that it's single spindle as opposed to a davenport or new Britain. Much more accurate.
👍
Thanks alot. Its so informative 👏
Thank you so much for posting all the videos. I have so much to learn and I'm ready. Thank you
What year are these machines? I'm learning this dying art
Thank you for posting this. These "Brownies" helped win wars for our side. Setting these up could be considered the original programming of machines.
Invaluable information! Thank you!
Just bought my first screw machine, an old used one from WW2. This video is a gold mine! Thank you so much!
Holy smokes thank you for posting this. I've seen similar for Wickmans but they are never full videos.
You really are the GOAT for uploading this 💪🏻
Can you share flat die thread rolling machine lessons?
Still working on getting the other videos, if I do find them, Ill post them here
@@MrShotgun216 Ok, I’ll wait
Very good
Can u upload Davenport videos??
Sure, give me a few hrs
@@MrShotgun216 thank you very much
@@slfc29 Done, Please Check my Recent Uploads
@@MrShotgun216 thank u
I want to say thank you for putting such a effort in shining some light on these machines so to speak from the videos to the documents I very much appreciate it
Thank you for the videos and the website. Really looking forward to what's to come. We have a #2 at work that I had to talk them into keeping. It's now my side project to learn how to get it running parts again.
What model of #2 do you have? At the very least I can make sure that I have the parts list for yours uploaded.
@@MrShotgun216 That would be awesome. It's the 1.25" capacity. 542 serial number prefix ending in 8238.
Parts list for that machine is already on the website Here is link for pdf drive.google.com/file/d/1zLlyksBGM7qaCtFsQUc8UH7hAq9X8EM2/view?usp=sharing
Thank you so much for uploading! I've tried to locate these training videos but with no luck. Only have had books to go off of so this is very helpful!
Excellent! The mystery is solved - wish I had seen this video prior to wasting many hours of frustration trying to understand what is going on. If you think about buying a used box tool on eBay, make sure it is NOT a left-handed unit if you are going to use it for conventional turning! Check the photo to see if it says LH or RH. Buying the wrong one is very expensive when you consider your bar tab, and flowers for the wife!
I mean, it depends on what machine you use it on. . . . if you're just using it on a lathe, reverse the spindle.
This is a gold mine of information you have uploaded. Thank you for all of this. I appreciate your efforts
Damn I thought dinosaurs didn't exist? I'm just learning. Damn someone is throwing Me under the bus.
You are a hero I have been looking for these tapes for a long time and periodically checking to see if someone has them or if someone uploaded them to RUclips I checked today and I found them I really appreciate it thank you if you have more of these tapes please upload but I thank you very much
Man I been checking too. Lol
@@sideshow45 There was one tape for the longest time on RUclips uploaded since 2008 to be exact but now the whole series of tape I believe has been released by this channel I’ll definitely be diving into these nice to talk to you again by the way
