So, so good
I watched him in black and white, especially on a TV show called "Hootenanny". His son, also an outstanding singer, went to Sweden. His grandson, Rennie Mirro, is Swedish and is one of those ridiculous yeah-I-do-all-that-too performers and producers and all that. I miss Leon Bibb and the people I watched him with.

I first heard him singing in a church in Vancouver. Definitely a religious experience.

Leon Bibb was quite well known back in the 50s and early 60s....his voice was phenomenal and pure and true!!!

Most of the folkies from the early sixties knew the name Leon Bibb. He performed at many folk festivals including the very first Newport folk festival. He appeared on the TV show Hootenanny and the Ed Sullivan TV show. He had his own NBC TV show. He moved to Canada in 1969 and in 2009, he was made a Member of the Order of British Columbia. He made 12 albums plus two albums with his son Eric. Performers in the folk genre don't become well known outside of that genre it seems. There's a saying that "Folk is a four letter word that starts with F and ends with K and if you use it, your songs won't get played on the radio."
