Thank you for posting this. I always thought that the elevate rack and rail system was going to have some issues with bed covers. It's just everything I've seen online typically points to only the positives and how cool it looks and it works great with most bed covers, etc, etc. If they designed an elevate rack option not using the channels/rails that go inside the bed and used the stake pocket holes (like other manufacturers do) instead, then they might have a better fitting (with bed covers) product, IMO.

This beach looks so chaotic! 😂 The water’s gorgeous, the waves almost look like they’re going backwards.

Just installed the elevate rack with my revolver x2 and it has the same issue with the tailgate fitment. Reached out to their customer service and they said "with that combination of products, it will cause the cover to sit up higher than it normally would. There isn’t a correction that can be made to reduce that lift." Seems like a product design oversight to me.

Napili Bay in East Hawaii works on a NE , SE Swell and a Easterly Wind 💨 it isn’t a surf 🏄‍♂️ beach 🏖 because it’s buffed by Napili Island 🏝 that also works in the same condition but only breaks in Conditions 2 metres plus this is a nice 👍 Smooth Ride but the Bay is a Hollow Fast 💨 and Powerful Shore Break Wave 🌊 between 1-6ft Goodbye 👋

Have same system on the way, did you replace the weatherstripping on the X4 to the thinner one that comes with the elevate rail? I noticed this in the elevate rail installation booklet. As if you use the supplied Bak weatherstripping it will be too tight.

Then would say that your rack is not compatible with the cover. The rails for the cover must be tight against the truck box to allow it to function properly

You have the rails for the bak cover installed over the top of the rails for the rack. This is causing the cover rails to distort inward, causing the binding along the sides and the huge gap,at the tailgate.. My suggestion is to put the bed cover rails on first, and then the rack rails. You can probably overlap the rack rails slightly over the bed rails with no issues.

I do think you may have your cover slightly out of alignment, but as for the tailgate issues, the X4s appears to resolve that.

Remove the rack and it will fit perfectly!!!

I did do the cab corner at a later date. I did not video the process. What I can tell you is that I was able to install the cab corner without removing the bed. There was enough room in there for access. The sad part of the story is just before painting I was involved in a rear end collision and my insurance company totaled it. It never got finished. 🤔

Ok... I see what you're saying now. I found your video while researching the t slot rails. Your alignments are being thrown off by those. The tonneau is designed to fit the bed. The rails add height and decrease total width slightly but enough to squish in and hold proud of the tailgate. 😕 I was hoping there was something I wasn't seeing online to mitigate this issue. But with my f150 the tailgate step needs to be considered too.

Did you get this worked out? Your videos have displayed what I thought might happen and didn't see addressed in the literature

you should ALWAYS weld all your seams as this is a structural piece. If you have large gaps you should use backer pieces to help fill the void and something to weld to.

What brand is you bed rack?

D-foam and superglue from home depot fixed my gaping hole.
