Thank you for the video. Nevertheless, I think you are confusing “pop” with “popular music”. Pop is an American music genre that appeared in the U.S. in the 50s; it is “lighter” than rock. “Popular music” is all the music genres which are neither classical or folk, i.e., all the music genres intended for mass consumption or all the music genres to appeal for a broad audience.
Yes, you are right, when I say 'pop' here I mean popular music or mass music. Since this is in the context of Indian music, I haven't separately mentioned the American 'pop' music genre in this video, But your explanation of American 'Pop' music is very good, thank you for sharing.
