The starting episode preview shows things are really toughening up now. Seems befitting that one of the main villains of this game would bring forth the challenge. 2:19 - Desolatt Island was almost befitting the pun name they game it but I now see people. Almost Desolate then rather than entirely desolate. 5:11 - Loving this colourful bunch. Glad to know that the citizens of this electric themed land aren't totally defenceless without the random out of this world arrival of Mario and Luigi. 11:04 - That was easily spotted, and here I was thinking you'd have to hammer away at every object. This appears to be their hideout. 13:35 - This is a real interesting enemy battle. Also, a nice touch to show the problems with the town in having the random encounter enemies popping up in the midst of it. Nice demonstration of the problems that beset the place. 16:40 - That was quite the shock; love how you ended up extending "jump" in surprise. Hopefully this elderly turnip mandrake won't start screaming, as mandrakes tend to do. 20:40 - Love that slow pause as you realise Ireen is right there. How strange that they made this place so large but you only have to find three of the members of IDLE. Seems a bit rushed. 24:33 - That dreadful moment when you believe you have missed an item and can't go back. In a game, you always want to go the wrong way first to avoid being locked out of content (though thankfully, most games allow backtracking now, or give warnings). 29:16 - That's certainly a relief to see. Given the preview, I was assuming you were thrown into that boss battle there and then. 31:42 - Mentor as in Connie's mentor? That would certainly be a plot twist and RPGs sure do love their plot twists. Also, the comedy is on-point. The main villain manages to be both hilarious and threatening at once (that Snoutlet interaction was pure gold). 34:24 - Apparently your jumping was definitely in need of powering up for this island; so many enemies avoiding grounded attacks. Good plan to try and get all the ads (those birds) out of the way at once but it seems your Green Shell counts as a grounded attack, much like your hammer. 37:44 - Do you have an item equipped that increases Defence each time you're hit? It keeps going up. 39:14 - An Ten summons more ads; the biggest threat to you in this boss battle. Those Snaptors were a right pain. 42:34 - Whoa; huge surprise here! I can't recall a game where the boss actually returns to try and reclaim the item they have dropped immediately. Along with Luigi Logic, this game is defying all sorts of establishing gaming/RPG rules. 43:16 - The addition of context (that counters had been made easier to do thanks to your new key item) makes this game over unfortunately hilarious. 48:22 - Dulles has never seen how quickly you spend it all at the shops.

4:56 I agree with you on the Jack Black thing. My overall opinion is this movie should have been completely animated. Not saying it would fix the story (if there's any issues) but it would be easier to look at.

When it comes to the piglins in the overworld, Jeb has stated that eating netherwart allows piglins to survive in the overworld without zombifying, like in minecraft legends. And the skeletons' bow and arrows i feel like took the most logical train of thought with how the flame enchantment would work. The arrow probably just gets set on fire once it touches the bow.

Gosh, it really has taken a while to get to the first boss. There hasn't even been a tutorial boss present, which seems to be the case for other Mario & Luigi entries. Best of luck in this boss battling endeavour. 3:27 - It's pretty nice that the Guardarms here have evolved to not only make the battles more exciting but also give you reason to us your newly acquired hammers. 6:56 - Personally, I'd have avoided buying a second one myself. You typically find at least one of each equipment out in the wild at some point, so I tend to buy only one of each item in this series. I wouldn't be surprised if you found a So-So Hammer just before the boss. 12:17 - Lucky there's plenty of blocks to smash with your newly acquired hammers. Items and coins to be found to make up for your sparse inventory. 13:02 - Knew it! Exploration pays off. 16:48 - Luigi celebrating when you score the first strike is cute. Interesting to see that Mario's first strike with hammer does an earthquake hit all foes approach. 18:42 - Neat job deflecting the Guardarms new attack. 23:51 - I mean, you could have also just used a mushroom but I suppose doing this did allow you to save on the items. You look to be a decent level for coming up to the first boss, so in theory, you shouldn't have needed to fight those three or so other enemies. Well... guess we will be finding out soon anyway. 25:27 - Boss charged into you and thus gets the first strike. Good counter against his surprise attack though. 26:37 - Oooh, Luigi Logic in the middle of battle. That's real cool. 29:40 - Hooray for successful Luigi Logic! Third time was the charm. 30:26 - That would be by using an item. You can use those in battles; probably should have eaten a mushroom rather than attack here. 32:06 - Scraped by with a win here, though do remember to use items next time. It's the Mushroom Block amongst your action commands. 36:22 - An the tease to the villains of this game finally occurs. You really do just get thrown into things with this adventure.

An so the adventures on this art and rock themed island continues, with the first encounter of the episode being... coins that conveniently are colour coded and signed to represent Mario and Luigi. How very strange, given the two plumbers are from another world here. 3:52 - Luigi's logic so far seems... very straightforward. I was expecting weirder answers to these problems. I do love how the exclamation mark has an 'L' to it. 5:14 - Oh no, you're missing out on the item blocks. There was loot back there! 6:54 - That stunned silence before you apologise. What a dramatic launch for Luigi here. 9:43 - Nicely done; clearing away the already damaged enemies and avoiding any yourself. You've got the timing against these Guardarms down pat. 13:06 - Oh, smooth sailing. I was expecting a boss to suddenly attack you here but nope. Heck, you went through the entire first island and haven't even received the hammer weapon yet. Real surprising. 16:37 - They've suggested capturing them, but what do these Sprite Bulbs do? I guess we'll find out later. 21:56 - Oooh, neat; you get a choice for your next destination. I wonder how this will effect the level curve. 27:16 - The island select thing is a strange system. It seems they wanted to emphasise the sailing theme but it seems to create something to worry about. It probably isn't an issue, you can always sail back by them. It might be better to obtain the hammers before exploring Rumbla Island in detail anyway. I did see plenty of spots where a hammer would be helpful.

An so Mario and Luigi get the Toon Link treatment; fire away! 2:53 - Rather nice way to draw attention to the Recovery and Save block, with the artist using them as their drawing inspiration. 5:34 - At least the fails are hilarious. Gosh, this game looks beautiful and animates wonderfully. So many comical expressions as well. 7:07 - Stache is style. From what I recall of prior Mario & Luigi games, I believe it reduces prices in shops and helps gain extra bonus stats upon level-up. Strange though, I recall previous games having a stat increase choice system where you could add a bonus point to a stat (and increasing the same stat again and again lessens the bonus). 11:46 - Nice landing of the first strike against a rushing enemy. Neat how it deals damage to all enemies with that first strike as well. 14:41 - He's so determined! Luigi's slender body slips through. Gosh, this game is giving a lot of love to Luigi. 20:40 - At first it was purely an artist theme but I see they are more emphasising rocks and sculpting as this island progresses. Kind of funny all the mention of rocks given the overall electricity theme. They don't usually go hand-in-hand thematically. 23:27 - Bit strange you can purchase the default gear from the store. What reason would you need to buy a second pair of thin wear or run-down boots. It's not like you get any other party members. 26:32 - I was starting to suspect that the Guardarm could only be countered by the hammer but nope, just have to time the jump perfectly. Great job hitting back against two in a row. 30:29 - Given her apron, I was expecting her to gift you the hammers, but instead she introduces you to stat buffing accessories.

Starting off the video with Luigi screaming was a wonderful choice. 1:27 - I do wonder if it is Kamek's magic or if they are simple using the 'shapes aura' as just a way to signal when something is magical. Plenty of things can glow in the Mario universe without it being magical. 5:30 - Yeah, strange that. I was expecting the crab to be an enemy to fight. 6:58 - Two Jump Counters in a row. It's interesting that despite different developers and source points, that Mario & Luigi shares the active turn based combat styling and button press implementation of Paper Mario. Of course, with some differences between them; higher numbers here after all. 8:48 - W-what on earth is going on? Mario's lost it. Oh gosh, it's a whole "I can still hear his voice situation." 12:31 - Game's just begun and they are already having callbacks. 14:00 - Connie here has a very similar speaking sound to Monita from Nintendo Land. Also, yes, she's adorable. 18:03 - Nice to see the companion characters of this game actually being nice and friendly to Luigi here. You can tell it's a different developer to Alpha Dreams with that alone. 21:12 - Love your critique here of Mario and Luigi's rugged starting gear. Hilarious! I think the two like to make the most use out of their purchases; would hate to be wasteful.
