Hope there is a very sound establishment that ensures constant maintenance of the welfare of Moroccan citizens. I mean, if this huge sum goes to the building of a mosque that is as, not just beautiful, but occupies such a land mass, then we shouldn't be having citizens of the country who are faced with the difficulty of proper feeding, accommodation, healthcare, etc.

In my point of view, ASEAN countries need to collaborate to counter the China's aggressive approach in this SCS issue. Finding a balance of stability in the region, reducing military activity there, and maintaining good relations between nations are all necessary for a quick solution to this issue. The key for ASEAN nations is to maintain a balanced relationship with both China and the US in order to ensure regional stability.

First of all, thank you very much for the video, Prof! The complicated South China Sea conflict can be easily understood through the explanation on the video. In my perspective, considering the fact that many countries have been involved in this territorial dispute, the SCS conflict will remain unsolved for an indefinite amount of time. Unless, we can find solutions that can satisfy each countries' interests which most likely impossible to happen. Though the US has been trying to counter the dominance of China, it does not help that much since the US has no rights to involve in this dispute.

China is the country that claims all the island in the South China Sea. As we all know, South China Sea is a worth route to sail and have a lot of natural gas and oil. So, why dont any countries near the South China Sea want to claim the islands there. It is for country's economics and can get a bigger territorial dispute. That is why China decided to creates many artificials island to place their military. Just like Spartly Island, China claims that they have a historical right over the island and said there was a 9 dotted line which is for me it is not a strong reason for China to claim.

what I learned from the video, I saw that the China issue affected a number of nations, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei, and Vietnam. The Spratly Islands and the Paracels are at issue. This is due to the ocean surrounding the island being a resource that offers enormous advantages while not being used. Additionally, the oil and natural gas resources in this region are very wealthy. China and numerous nations, including the Philippines, Japan, India, and many others, are at odds over the island. This is what makes achieving peace in this situation so challenging.

Understanding the South China Sea issue is made much easier by seeing this video. According to me, this problem has had an impact on South China Sea states (including Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Brunei), China, and the US. Due of the involvement of two major powers, this problem is extremely difficult to resolve. I concur with China's criticism of the US that its presence in the South China Sea is unjustified and may lead to maritime mishaps. The Philippines claimed that the US military exercises are a highly risky activity because China is very territorial in the South China Sea for its own interests. On the other hand, I concur with the US that there is more than one nation entitled to claim ownership of the South China Sea, and I encourage ASEAN to take a more aggressive approach to resource development as long as it occurs within their territorial seas.

A lot of country wants to claims South China Sea Including China, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam and Taiwan. According to international law, all of the country have rights to establish the breadth of its territorial sea up to a limit not exceeding 12 nautical miles. China using 9 dash line to claim the South China Sea seems unreasonable. China should not be greedy to sweeping claims of sovereignty over the sea. Nurul Izzati 287328

China's stubbornness to claim the territory marked by the 9 line dash is an extreme action that causes international problems where the claim takes place in the waters of neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. This action is unfounded and only for their own national interest. the declaration made by China is an act that does not respect the sovereignty of other countries and is like setting aside the function of international law. therefore, for me this issue is an unresolved dispute because there are many overlaps that will undermine the rights of others. In my opinion, China claims 90% of the South China sea with the 9 Dash Line as historical evidence. In 2016, the International Court struck down China's Claim with it having no legal basis ruling but China ignored it as it never happened. Binded by the International Law, territorial water is defined toward 12 NM from its land and 200 NM as Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ). The main reason for the claim is about economics and resources. Natural gas and oil with an estimated 190 trillion cubic feet and 11 billion barrels. Besides a massive South China sea as a shipping passage for trade and goods, about 5.3 trillion dollars. In conclusion, political means and national interest toward sovereignty and economic stability are still binded with international law such as thirties and norms. Amiruddin Muhammad (288774)

The dispute regarding to occupy a territory in the South China Sea is a very complicated and difficult . this is due to the many overlaps in these waters and to set the total area is impossible. however, this dispute will still be raised because of the importance of the sea itself such as the main route for ships, logistics, a spot to place the military for surveillance, and monopolize the sea's products. for me, this issue will often be raised especially by big power countries like China to get territory in the sea. South China Sea remained less attractive region until UN reported the discovery of hydrocarbon within the region around 1968. In this case, the temptation of occupying such a region, which is strategic and rich in natural resources, increased as many countries start to claim one over another water territorial led to dispute within the region. The most controversial claim in the dispute is nine dash line claim by China as it covers more than 80% of South China Sea region. China seems to be aggressive towards South China Sea as we know China is one of the biggest importers in terms of gas within the region as China needs a lot to support their military means. South China Sea is also possible way for China to take control over the region as this water area cost approximately $5 trillion of the global market. This water area also links the strategic trade routes over the world, in which China influence could take over economic and geopolitical aspects within the Asia-Pacific region if they could occupy this water area "officially". Hence, China established their military bases over artificial islands and held military patrol over the region considered by them as their territory. This invites US intervention within the region as China claim of nine dash line said to endanger other countries' sovereignty over their water territory in the South China Sea This also correlates with US interest within Asia-Pacific region to envoy their influence their as they are trying to balancing China's growing influence over Asia-Pacific. In other side. China with its growing navy is indeed obvious threat for US and its partnering countries such as Japan, South Korea and Philippines. This complicated conditions of collided interests in South China Sea seems to be a continuous dispute as China possess even greater threat and influence over the region and even become challenging dispute to solve for international law.

In my opinion, China claim territoriality over the South China Sea is irrational. I’m agree that US question China motives to claim the South China Sea as they know its worth $5 trillion worth of trade passes through the South China Sea every year and the sea is littered with oil deposits. It seems like China just want to claim territory because it is worth it even though they do not have good reasons for that.

  • @amiruddinmuhammad4347

South China Sea disputes with China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Brunei are still prolonged until today. This is due to the economic resources, national interest that translated into the military capabilities where China sent their Navy ships to patrol and coast guard their claimed territorial waters.China and the United State deployed their navy ships to show that they are powerful and controlling the sea area. Nevertheless, according to the United Nation Convention on the Law of The Sea (UNCLOS) there is freedom of navigation and overflight in the high seas for all nations. US stance that no nation possesses South China sea. Any navalship may sail through it binded by International Law. ASEAN countries members should strengthen their economic means accordingly binded by code of conduct in International Law. The exploration and navigation of Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) water among ASEAN countries should have been possessed in diplomatic ways to insure peace and economic and security stability of states members. China's greed and desire to claim SCS as part of their own territory is understandable as the territory itself is rich in natural resources especially oil and SCS itself is trade road that brings in trillion of dollars worth of trade which essentially could garner tons of profit to a country should it have sovereignty over the area but their reasoning for the claim over SCS is illogical and invalid as well as causes diputes among the countries that have territorial claims over certain parts of SCS which actually affects their economies and national boundaries

In my view, china territorial claims (9 dash line) was very unreasonable. If China want to claim it can up to 200 nautical miles from their territory. No matter how rich the sources south china sea, China shouldnt expand their territory for their national interest. Otherwise it will effect Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei and Philippines sovereignty.

From a perspective there exist an understanding of sea territories among nations for decades ever since the establishment of the UN hence China's claim towards the whole territory of south china sea whould not be valid at all and in fact the US should not take part or interfere in this issue since their interference might escalate the issue even further although on another perspective the US involvement could actually benefit and assist the other countries that lay valid claims in the south china sea since the countries involved are small or have lesser military power when compared with China

The conflict in South China Sea started a long time ago since 1895 dispute among China and Japan over Senkaku/Diaoyu Island. The main trigger of South China Sea dispute nowadays is the China’s nine dash line claim, cover almost all part of the South China Sea itself. This claim of nine dash line by China overlap the other countries 200 mil nautical zone. It escalates tension within the Indo-Asia Pacific region. China’s claim on nine dash line is said to be contrary to the international law. It is said to be against UNCLOS. According to article 56 in UNCLOS, China claim of nine dash line overlap other countries’ EEZ and considered to be unlawful, in which those other countries are guaranteed to have right to exploit resources and build artificial islands within their respective EEZ. As also stated in the 2016 international tribunal that nine dash claim is groundless, because it does not have legal basis and historical claim is not enough to claim sovereignty over more than 80% of South China Sea. The claim is originated form the declared map of 11 nine dash line by the preceded government of China, in which turn to be 9 nine dash line after China’s government - under Mao Tse Tung - gave up on Gulf of Tonkin. The dispute over who owns South China Sea seems to be complicated over times, which include Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Taiwan and Vietnam within the dispute. The escalated tension among countries within the region caused by Chinese growing influential power in South China Sea also seems to affect the stability within the region, including bounding of ASEAN countries. The economic and political ties among countries within this region with China also contribute to the endless dispute, for example the failure of issuing Joint Communique under Cambodia chairmanship of ASEAN in 2012 due to Cambodia close ties with China. In the other side, protracted tension in South China Sea is also exacerbated by the US intervention within the region after conflict among China-Japan over Senkaku/Diayou Island and China-Philippine over Spratly and Paracel Islands. This is resulted in endless act of balancing, deterrence and arms race within the most disputable place in the planet. My opinion is that China's selfish behavior shows their desire to control the entire SCS in order to establish a dominant maritime territory. In addition, the SCS which has a wide trade area, petroleum resources and fisheries are able to strengthen China's economic power. Compared to other major powers especially the US, China is perhaps the most powerful country in terms of its military and economy thanks to the opportunities provided by the SCS. For me, this conflict is caused by China's great desire to become a world main country.

In my opinion, That is the legal understanding of the ocean boundaries according to nations that benefit from UNCLOS. China rejects this and it asserts that some historical statements are still relevant. According to UNCLOS, the new UNCLOS agreement from 1994 supersedes earlier claims and renders them void. It was only recently approved by the US Congress. The US appears to disagree and challenges China using "gun boat" diplomacy under the banner of "freedom of the seas." China wants bilateral agreements and the resolution of problems.

As I said in the previous part, many nations want to claim the South China Sea as their territory. Now I know that this island is so desirable by the nations because of their massive shipping passage. As stated in the video, nearly 5.3 trillion dollars worth of trade is cruising through the South China Sea every year. On the other hand, the South China sea also has a lot of raw material such as oil and natural gas. According to international law, every country has the right to claim up to 12 nautical miles from its coast as territory. So that is why the country around the South China Sea started to claim the island is their territory. But, China said that they have an exception because of the nine-dash line (encompasses approximately 90 percent of the three million square kilometer South China Sea). So, within the nine-dash line, China makes sovereignty and maritime claims.

China's Claim to the South China Sea is somehow unreasonable since their claim is based on things that happened a long time ago and were not that substantial( For example in the video Michael said that China claimed an island close to Japan because one of it's people passed by it a long time ago). And we can also see why China is definitely working hard yo secure the South China Sea since it has a lot of resources. China has a huge population which needs a lot of energy for it's people to survive. Securing the South China Sea would mean natural resources without having to pay extra money for them. But I think this situation could be resolved if Every party in this dispute could compromise.

In my own opinion I think the U.S should not be involved in this conflict since they have no right to be involved in it. This dispute should be solved by the parties that are fighting for the South China Sea. On the other hand I can understand why the U.S would be involved with this conflict since China is a very powerful country and the rest of the countries that are part of this dispute are quite small comparing to China. All in all I hope the conflict would be resolved peacefully without any need for military action. Great video..🙏🤞

From my perspective, the US should not involve in this issue because the South China Sea is not part of their territorial dispute. As shown in the video, US Military tried to get involved by sending warship to the South China Sea. China critics the UN that they are manipulate the truth and the law that had been written. But, when the China come up by creates many artificial island then placed military equipment so that they can claims the South China Sea and become their national interest. Vietnam and the Philippines were the countries who actually start building it at first place. I agree that the US said that South China Sea is not belongs to any nation because it is consider as a place that everyone can sail and fly as long as its not contradict with the International Law. Antonio Caprio also said under UN on the Law of the Sea, about 25% of the region are high sea which is any country cannot claim what ever it is in the high sea area

  • @nasleenanuar8729
    @nasleenanuar8729 Год назад

The territorial disputes in the South China Sea are claimed by China and also from other nations such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and Brunei. Despite China's claims that the islands are part of their territory, the United States’s vice President insisted that the United States will continue to sail and fly in the South China Sea because that island did not belong to any nation. I believe that the conflict of these territorial disputes is related to the strategic area of the South China Sea that could give trade profits.

This video is very helpful to understand the South China Sea issue. In my view, this issue has affected states in the South China Sea ( Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philipines ad Brunei), China and the US. This issue is critically hard to be solved as there is 2 big power involved. I agree with China's critics of the US that the US existence in the South China Sea is unreasonable and can trigger maritime accidents. The Philippines said the involvement of the US military drills very dangerous action because China is very possessive in the South China Sea due to national interest. On the other hand, I also agree with the US on the South China Sea does not belong to only one nation and encourages the ASEAN to be more proactive in developing resources as long it is on their waters.

This video manifests different lens of viewing Israel-Palestine issue from a perspective of international law and the nature of human rights. It basically calling out how Israel is actually trying to act as a victim in the fight of "getting back their land" and trying to blame Hamas for what had happened even though the emergence of Hamas is long after the human rights issue to Palestine. Scholars/public has been vocal about Israel war crime and claimed that Israel by all means had violated the principle of international law. However, from my point of view, international actors have been very modest to solve this conflict leading to the expanding of Israel occupation in Palestine. The idea of two state solution is easier said than done because the current situation does not reflect to resolve this conflict and worsen.

This video did a great job on explaining the ongoing conflict of Palestine - Israel. In my point of view international law - built upon the principles of humanitarian protection, human rights, equality and justice - has been expressed in hundreds of United Nations resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “Animating these resolutions is the vision that the law, when purposively applied, can offset a lopsided power relationship between two parties and ensure that all are equal before the law. What matters is not the might of one’s army or economy, but the grounding of one’s vision in recognized rights and freedoms. The six principles were particularly central to the peace process: 1) Human Rights, 2) self determination, 3)Annexation, 4) Settlements, 5) Palestinian Refugees and 6) Security.

The video was excellent on explaining on religion and human rights in international law, my view on Human Rights In International Law, the International human rights law lays down obligations which States are bound to respect. By becoming parties to international treaties, States assume obligations and duties under international law to respect, to protect and to fulfil human rights. The obligation to respect means that States must refrain from interfering with or curtailing the enjoyment of human rights. The obligation to protect requires States to protect individuals and groups against human rights abuses. The obligation to fulfil means that States must take positive action to facilitate the enjoyment of basic human rights. Through ratification of international human rights treaties, Governments undertake to put into place domestic measures and legislation compatible with their treaty obligations and duties. The domestic legal system, therefore, provides the principal legal protection of human rights guaranteed under international law. Where domestic legal proceedings fail to address human rights abuses, mechanisms and procedures for individual and group complaints are available at the regional and international levels to help ensure that international human rights standards are indeed respected, implemented, and enforced at the local level. My second opinion on religion and human rights reconciliation, by suggesting ways in which religious doctrine can support the practical objectives of human rights. in some of the cases investigation is not to ask whether religious people actually serve to promote or damage the cause of human rights, but whether, and the extent to which, religious doctrine itself is responsible for any of these effects. Hence, I focus on standardized forms of religious doctrine, considering religious practice only where it bears some connection to its underlying doctrine. Four essential religious tropes are noted (1) a commitment to the collective; (2) a belief in some higher value or being; (3) an emphasis on tradition; and (4) a willingness or tendency to look beyond the rational. Human rights are understood simply as basic rights and freedoms to which all people are entitled, by virtue of their humanity.

The publishers now want a book proposal before a person writes the whole book. If they are interested then they may want to see sample chapters before they commit themselves to publish a book. Not to worry if a book is rejected, try other publishers and get feedback on how you can improve your book.

@@mohdazizuddinmohdsani8335 The book should be filling a gap in the literature and make a contribution. It is also important to make it explicitly clear for whom is the book intended, i.e the potential readers.
