Getting STUCK in the SNOW! In a 44t HGV!
I got stuck in the snow. No one expected this to happen and especially mid wales. It was only meant to be further north.
I got stuck and managed to get in contact with the farmer and which he came out and pulled me up the hill and to the farm. Made a snowman and got was able to get back down the hill after the farmer cleared the way for me back down. Excellent Job!

I used to live in Llanymynech many years ago and I remember the level of the road being raised to prevent it becoming flooded. Your video shows that it works!
That was a brilliant video it doesn’t only show how hard it is to keep the wheels turning in weather like this but also shows the vital role of farmers who do a fantastic job of keeping roads open well done to all of you
got to love a farmer and a tractor..good lad reece
Chains?
not in the UK, thats why we are so bad at driving in the winter, summer tyres all year lol
No winter tires ?
not in the UK, thats why we are so bad at driving in the winter, summer tyres all year lol
also, apparently no snow chains to put on in an "extreme weather" event like that...all respect goes to the farmer who did all the work and saved the driver and the public from waiting hours on the blocked road...
@@FiFtY2303 yeah the farmers do a fantastic job, somefarmers even plow the snow to help the local Councils / Goverment, yeah no snow chains either, if the UK goverment made a law that you have to have winter tyres and snow chains that could really help everyone
can be good driving on the fresh snow not where other vehicles been, that can help
@@ScottishLad. We don't get extremes of snow and ice to warrant winter tyres. I agree if you're out in the Cairngorms or really rural Perthshire then you may benefit having a winter tyre, but haulage firms aren't going to spend the money on full winter tyres. They're all crying poverty. And the other problem is they don't last as long, cost more per unit and if the ambient temperature is too high can get very wrecked very quickly. I agree snow chains should be on every wagon but again the cost of equipping for a few days a year probably isn't worth the cost to a haulage company.
Top video bud. Glad it wasn't just me getting stuck. New dafs are shocking in any kind of weather apart from the dry 😂🤙
Haha! Thank you! I reckon i would of got alot further if i had the DiffLock in long before the hill, and had some speed up, and also keeping to the snow itself instead of someone elses track that had turned to ice. Hopefully tomorrow is a better one!
Great Video!
Fantastic video of what its like in the 'Real-World' driving under these conditions. Pity the system prevents you from engaging Diff-Lock unless you're under 5mph! Great work by the customer coming out so quickly and helping you out of the issue. Well done in treacherous conditions getting the feed to the farm 😁
Wow❤❤❤😮😮😊😊
Nice vdeo and tractor
How are you feeling

Hi Tom great video from ben
Felicitaciones, bello tractor! Tengo uno de 1957 espero verlo algún día como el suyo. Saludos desde Costa Rica.
Fantastic 😄
Do you use Google maps for all your journeys?
Yes. The roads we use all the time the TomTom or Garmin sends me off in the wrong places or recommends smaller roads. I could write paragraph are para why GMaps is better than the others. Also helps alot when you want to see different routes along the way, GMaps always shows different route while driving. And if you take a wrong turning then it doesnt want to turn you around to take you back, it will just go to the next main junction to take you the right way (still following the main intented route) Where as TomTom will want to keep turning you round even 5miles down the road and not offer a new route, then suddenly..... puts you through a weight restiction because it can't find another route which is correct. Example, going down to Camarthen from Newtown. It wants to send me across the Newbridge-on-Wye to Beulah road, but that is 7.5t. Even while saying that you are 44t. It still wants to send you there...
My uncle told me never to buy a a 4 cylinder they were a c*** to start anybody that knows about tractors will tell you that
Everyone says that, but it's all about the timing and the slack in the chain. You need to get it exsctly right and then she'll be sweet to start!
I had one of those, it was a bear to start. Even upgraded the gloplugs and i installed a ford 5000c starter, it helped a little
Fantastic!
🔥🔥🔥
Wow its on the starter 😊. Nice tractor
We have one of these with the 23C engine - in its whole lifetime (bought new 1962) it was never hard to start. Engine has been rebuilt a few years ago and still not hard to start!! Yes, they did have that reputation but could never see why!!
I've just bought one which was rebuilt in 2019, and starts well (now that I have got the Thermostart working again!). I think the reputation stems from the 23c engine being a car/truck engine and needing car/truck levels of maintenance which they never got on farms to they would get abused and go out of time, and then not start. The later Perkins engine will run whatever, so was more suited to agricultural (ab)use...

Brilliant. Thanks.
It started easy👍 check My video too, i started my 35 Fergie at -5°Celsius
That sounds great! What engine is that? I thought the diesels were 3 cylinders.
23C engine. It's the early 4 cylinder before they changed it to the perkins 3 cylinder 👍🏼
Massey purchased Perkins Engine Company in 1959. Prior to that They ( Massey ) purchased Engines from outside Companies. The 2.3 liter Engine ( 139 Cubic Inch ) was made in England.
Nice 35 grey and gold have one to but it got hole in right top for tub and pre cleaner to get dirt out of oil bath
Aww unlucky! Very hard to find 2nd hand parts for certain bits these days
@@TomFewtrell no tom my got the hole in the top from factory with the oil bath tube and pre cleaner iam in Australia so that be why maybe

one question: My dad has a FE 35 too bit in the infeed manifold we don't have that additional injection - what is it for?
If you mean the part in videoing at around 0:40 secs, then that is the pre heater, like a glow plug. It sprays a fine most into the inlet manifold and it catches fire inside so that when you start it's warm/hot air going in. Works very well!
@@TomFewtrell aah perfect to know, thanks a lot!
If you have a 1959 model then there might not be an Thermostart (pre heater) but instead there are 4 glow plugs on the left hand side of the cylinder head.
less than 100 hours? Wow!
If only.... We have the original dial somewhere but all the numbers have come off
Keep it up Tom 👍🏻
Благодарю!
what is the wire that you unplug do?
