Watched a game recently and was surprised to see how powerful looking these guys were ,....no padding and how brutal it was (strange rules).....my.first thought was there can't be any longevity in this sport.

Rugby team is broken down by 2 categories. Forwards and backs. The forwards are bigger and do the scrummaging and line outs. The backs are behind them and circulate the ball around the field and do a lot of the running for yards. It’s much more physical for the forwards so I’d say they have less playing time. You’ll get the rules once you watch more games. Since Rugby was founded and the rules written by young attorneys in England they’re called laws. The biggest confusion can be during the ruck. It’s like if a running back got tackled by a linebacker yet instead of whistling the play dead they continued playing. Walter Camp in the late 1870’s changed the rules of Rugby to American football. I watch both Rugby League and Rugby Union. I hope you keep watching. After a game the players have a beer or drink afterwards and it’s all left on the field. It’s what makes Rugby so great. And the no commercials and stoppage make it wonderful. Watch Major League Rugby. Its free on The Rugby Network. The players talk to the fans after the game. Totally foreign in the big 4 here.
