This reminds me of the first time I beat this game, almost 10 years ago now. I believe I had 2 or 3 SHIVs, and I only sent them into the last room to face the Ethereals. I guess that Ethereals don't get to use the void rift ability on Easy Difficulty, because all they did was run around the room until my SHIVs killed the Uber Etheral. It was quite anticlimactic, but also hilarious.
