Hi there, and welcome to my channel!
Here I will be trying to buy crash damaged/stolen and recovered/cars that come with “scars”- find their story and show it here, and then hopefully sell them:).
This idea came out following me looking to buy a personal car and realised that there’s plenty of CAT cars for sale, “fixed to a high standard” but with no story behind them. I’m very passionate when it comes to cars, and particularly working on cars.
Wish me luck🤞🏼

The most boring Nissan Qashqai (J10)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.7 месяцев назад
A very dull but sturdy car in my opinion.
Mine had 205k miles and never failed me. I had the 1.6 petrol 5 speed manual and I beat the hell out of it for the years that I owned it. Great car! Great gas mileage as well.
You should take better care of the car man.. clean that engine cover
and fill coolant level too
and the fuel filter, you should put it into the cap, and then screw it on.
and you don't need to prime it. its a self bleed design
Well it's wrong I hope you find out the hard way 1 day
wow, ok🤦🏻♂️🤣
Great up to disc must use brake cleaner they are coted protect them from rusting never put them on has you have
not necessarily, they weren’t slippery at all and had no problem braking since 😄regards
Can you please tell me from where did you get the oil pump? Thanks
just eBay, but wouldn’t necessarily recommend as it is painfully slow
Hi Can you show the video for fuel filter change Thanks
that will be on the next service I’m afraid😀but all you have to do is: you got three fuel lines going into the fuel filter. you leave the one in the middle out and then press on the little piston on the top of the fuel filter to prime it. once you got fuel coming through the line you left out, you connect that line too and you’re done
If you lube the ‘0’ ring up with a little oil it won’t squeak and it will go on and then come of better next time you change the fuel filter. Also why did you not use the bleed kit you had to bleed the air out from your fuel filter ? I would also suggest running the engine to check for leeks before you put the cover back on, but great you’ve doing it all yourself and showing others how to do it too
Thank you for your comment. The reason why I did not use the bleed kit to prime the fuel filter is because the hose from the prime tool and the fuel line were not fitting with eachother😄I mainly put the cover back for the video, but I have test drove the car to make sure it’s all good
@@sCARs20 ah makes sense 😎
Look level cooling
When i removed my caliper today the piston is slightly proud, maybe 2 mm, couldnt get it to go back at all. The hand brake was off and the brake fluid resovoir lid was off. Their was quite a bit of corrosion around the brake hub area, but even cleaned up i couldnt get it to move. Any suggestions on how i might move this otherwise there isnt enough room to get new pads in?
is there any rust on the piston? dont know what you mean by “oroud”
@@sCARs20 the face of the piston had some rust on it that I cleaned up. Shouldve read the piston 'the piston is slightly proud' sticks out 2mm or so from being flush
that 2mm shouldn’t really make a difference. what did you use to push the piston back?and is the rubber seal that covers the piston intact?
@@sCARs20 the seal is in good condition, but unlike when I did the front brakes and moved the piston, the rear one didn't move. I'm gonna have to have another look at that and double check otherwise there's definitely not enough inside the caliper for the pads and disc. Should there be much movement of the piston?
@@sCARs20 i tried to move the piston back but it wasnt budging.. i was going to get hold of a brake piston cube to see if it had any further back to go. im guessing i cant use a screwdriver to lever it back like i did the front brake piston?
Shite car with a million issues.not even nice to Drive.
Just subscribed your channel. Have you ever changed the rear brakes on toyota avensis
Hi there, no not yet but according to other RUclips videos there is a method to wind the electric motors back😃
@sCARs20 check your owners manual pls. My avensis is also 2013 model but it didn't come with the owners manual.
there’s an online owners manual which is free but it won’t tell you how to wind the electronic handbrake motors, but I have seen it on RUclips for other types of Toyota which should work
Yo you still got the Kuga ? How much?
hi there, yes I do, I’ve got it up for £9200 including a full valet or £9000 without😁
Hi there, I have drastically reduced the price if you’re still interested as I need to make room for a new project😀
Great video! I must do mine. Was there any metallic bits in the oil. Probably think there is a magnet in the gearbox to catch any. Was the gearbox quieter after the change? What was the price difference between the liqui moli and Toyota oil? Also, I read a tip once to just make sure you can open the filler nut before draining the oil so you won't get stranded.
there was no metal shavings in the oil🤞🏼🤞🏼and you can also tell how healthy your gearbox is by the oils colour-if the oil is dark🤯. my oil was fine, and to be fair I haven’t noticed a significant difference but at least my mind is at ease knowing that I have new oil in my gearbox😀 I paid £25 for liqui moli whereas the Toyota one would have been over £50 and I did undo the filler cap whilst the old oil was draining to help the old oil clear out. Regards and good luck!
@@sCARs20 thank you
The worst car ever built buy a mile.
if you’re looking for a s…t car that just drives over and over again, this is the best buy🤣
Best way with the fuel filter when you've put the new filter in top up with fresh fuel to the top. Then it doesn't need bleeding and spray the engine bay with fuel 😂😂
I agree, although I wouldn’t keep a canister of fuel just for that, so I thought I’d try something that should do it just fine, only that my better half got the buttons all mixed up🤣🤣
I did mine 3 years ago so thought after 3 years it was due again. I just put £5 worth of fuel in a can.. only problem I mentioned it to my stepdaughter her Kuga has never had one and it's 5 years old so guess what I've got hers to do. Only bit I find a pain is the fuel pips clips scared to bust them 😂😂 mines in for oil change and MOT in the morning. Oh recommend a stage one remap goes like stink 196bhp. Tows my caravan well 😜😜 more smiles per mile now
Deffo, I think it does pull nicely, only drove it briefly but quite please. And to my surprise it does a better mpg than my Avensis, which is hard to beat😳
Very good explanation on this service, personally I prefer to use all genuine ford products when doing any servicing.
That a mark 2.5 and not a mark 2 😊
Technically, there is no such thing as a mk2.5 this is a Mk2 facelift 😄
Yep but everyone calls them mark 2.5 😜
For anyone doing this you have to start with the Handbrake in the Off Position, The Piston is a straight push back no windback tool required on the Electric Parking Brake Models.
That's useful to know. Front discs already done last week, rear discs next.
Thanks .from Germany ❤
You’re welcome 😁
Per arretrare il pistone dietro non serve il computer?oppure l'hai fatto con frenamano non inserito?grazie e complimenti
there’s a way of doing it as described in the video, no need for a computer😀and you can hear the pistons retracting, then you’re ready to do the job
Great video , also liked that you put the size of tool to use on the video ,
Thanks 👍I try my best😄
Great dad
Thank you!😀
Its a solid car, eats in the city but does great kn motorway, 2010 j10 2.o petrol and its bang on.
Your coolant level is very low and for next service i recommend to use Mann filters. You can find everything in Eurocarparts. For pollen filter i also recommend carbon one and don't squeeze it anymore. It needs to fill up all his space inside there . All the best
Wow, Ford Kuga? I've Never Heard That Word Kuga Before, Here in 🇺🇲USA We Used Have One Here Called: "Ford Escape." Greetings. 🇺🇲🤝🇬🇧
Greetings! Yes, the US do get different names for some cars compared to their EU twin😄
Yes @@sCARs20, Do Also I Haven't Seen The Ford Escapes with Manual Transmission Yet Though, I Only Seen with Automatics Right Now.

thanks for that!
In regards to your unhappy gearbox, might need to drain & fill your gearbox fluid with new fluid. The fiesta ST's come underfilled at 1.6l or so but will hold 2l of gearbox oil
I was thinking to change the box altogether, but I suppose that trying that first wouldn’t harm. Thanks a lot!
@sCARs20 it's possible that it may be too late and it be worse than just changing fluid. Also forget to mention that I am across the pond and have a US spec Fiesta ST but I wouldn't be surprised if the same type issues are inherited in ford's international vehicles
I’ll first try to drain the oil, and take it from there as I’d first like to see whether the level is indeed lower. Regards
You should degrease the disk before installing. The discs got a protective seal against rust before leaving the factory.
It might depend on the brand used, as the ones I used were quite abrasive and didn’t feel greasy😃
The discs i bought it specifically said there is no need to degrease discs.@@sCARs20
that factory grease burns out fast
Some brands don't use grease, They have a coating that rubs off soon as you start braking.
Making a mountain out of a mole hill
Hi there, I believe you haven’t read my channel description, then you’d know why I’m doing it for😀
Mine is more boring than that one, 5 speed, 1.6L petrol, steel wheels. BUT its bulletproof.
I agree, they are good cars, the 2 liter diesel is quite nippy, but the interior really shocked me with its boredom 🤣
Hi mate, the proper oil for this engine is with spec. 5W 30 C4, with low SAPS, due to DPF Filter. I have a similar model Qashqai j10 2.0 dci 2011.
Thanks for the info, you live and learn I suppose
@@sCARs20 Thank you for the video, please do more with this car! 😁. Good job and stay healthy!
@@dl.rautate To be fair, there’s nothing much more to do with, still waiting to be sold and I’m looking forward to the next project🚘🚗
Pretty terrible choice getting the 2.0d for city driving? it will end up with countless engine issues if not driven on longer journeys! plus extra road tax costs make these a waste of time to own now. (just my opinion of course)
Yes, that’s fair, I suppose it wouldn’t suit someone that only does driving around the city, and needs it for motorway also.
Will the short mot put a buyer of at £4k ?
I will double check with the garage after new years whether I would be ok to MOT it, or whether I can only do it one month ahead😀I don’t mind MOTing it before sale😃
@@sCARs20 Just thinking with 12 months mot it will sell quicker, you can mot a car at any time it just starts the 12 month cycle from the day you mot it.
Brill, thanks for the info, I will deffo sort that out, same as I did with my two previous projects😃
8:01 and also, if I would of looked at the service history book I would of realised that the car came with a full service history🤦🏻♂️🤣never too late I suppose. Autotrader ad updated, and all the photos attached also!
