Ekpe Obu- The Tree of knowledge of existence of both Good and Evil (In Genesis). Obong nyin, Obu (Heaven in Heaven): Usoh of Obong of Calabar in Heaven. Thank You Father.
I'm looking for someone to come and teach some youth here in Ottawa some of these dances for performance at some events. Is it possible, please contact me to discuss it. Esong idem o.
The problem with most Africans is simple the fact that they can hardly tell what is the western tradition and what is the African tradition. During the days of Colonization and the rush For Africa, the looters(Colonial masters) forced Africans to beleive that their Tradition was bad and that of the west was good. This notion has been passed down the line till date. Its like the enslaved African Americans whose names were changed to prevent them from retracing their origigins. But God does wonders
Dear Asibongekondo!i m a student of fashion academy in Antwerpen(Belgium). This year we are doing ethnical costume, and i choose this amazing costume from your country, but it s really difficult to find any information about it, how to make it. I will be very appreciate if u can help me with any information, thanks for advance)XXX Kristina
we did it out of ignorance, we always had the knowledge of God deep down in our spirit, not a single african tribe was ignorant of the existence of a supreme source deity.. some even in embraced it. like we Ijaws who even had a shrine in dedication of the creator God. but for some reason they thought it better to worship smaller ones. At one point in our past we probably worshipped only God as creator. And then missed it. the fervency we now have for Christianity is a reflection of that.
Very impressing... This is oe of the greatest Nigerian/ Arican cultural display))) You can really enjoy it when there is a big city carnival or big parties and events. Apart from deep cultial ties and ancient history of the play, the demonstration here has deep meanings, even the steps can be read and interpreted and those who really understand them enjoy best. Between the two
I am proudly an Igbo, from Arochukwu to be precise and we practice ekpe, ekpo, inyamkpe etc. It is part of our culture, No doubt our brothers in the carribean practise it, together with the Nsibidi. Whether, Efik, Ibibio, Arochukwu, Abiriba, Cameroun, Jamaica, Haiti, Barbados, Cuba, or Puerto rico, the fact is that we share certain cultural ties like this. Our history is inter-wooven. Enyeneka sosong for posting.

Africans are missing it when we are nailing nails into children's heads in the name of Jesus and Mohammed, but God is faithful.
africans missed it when we ran to idols but God is faithful, the music seems similar to Opobo Bonny Nwaotam music even the chanting
