It’s not what it used to be…forgive me for putting it this way…it’s become simply “a job” and a “commodity” and with the rapid growth of AI in the domain of medical diagnosis and treatment recommendations…the intellectual challenge is disappearing quickly. In five years…the joy and challenge of figuring out what ails a patient and offering a solution that makes them well, or at least allows them to live life again will be done by the machines…I don’t want to just be a button pusher…it’s already happened to a significant degree…kids in medical school, PA school, nursing school…they’re going to have a very different life from we “old heads”… 🤔 retirement is soon for me … I need to do something interesting yet not threatened by the machine…at least, not yet…

I had a miscarriage and it was very sad. I can't imagine having three miscarriages in 1 year.

I’m currently in my last year and suffering daily. Every single day is like torture and I can’t quit because I don’t want all this to be for nothing. I want to get the degree and quit after that. Med School at least in my country was nothing like I had imagined. I used to study engineering before and I have humanitarian tendencies so I changed my major. But med school was nothing like I imagined. I never came to study this major for the money. I really liked talking to people. But we don’t even talk to people much. The hospital is such a toxic place and my profs are mean. I have never been thanked for what I do and everyone is just looking for your mistakes all the time. I’m basically filling out paperwork all day and see patients for a few minutes only

I quit medicine best decision of my life, I finally found peace 🕊️ finally breath fresh air I can't stand the thought of being a doctor , I hate everything related to it , from injections , blood, smell of the hospital everything I was forced into medicine , by my dad ,to make his dream I gave up everything,my youth , happiness,personal life ...and at the end I get nothing,but depression, panic attack , and severe anxiety 😅 I'm finally free to be myself, the more I learn and read about self growth I figured out I was living a lie, medicine is Good and rewarding career,but not for me ...

I can totally relate to the mom-guilt and wanting to have time for me and all the things I want to do. But since coming to faith I realise that being a mom and wife is what God created me for and all other things are just my ego wanting to perform. I don’t know if you’re Christian but drawing closer to God helped me so so much in letting go of my ego. Wishing you all the best and much love❤

I'm very happy to see an honest person to admit she chose medicine because it's a "good profession" that makes good money. As someone who's been involved in allied health for almost 20 yrs, I've seen more than my fair share of rude, arrogant, uncaring and incompetent doctors that obviously don't like their profession and who probably ended up in medicine for the reasons you quit. I wish you the very best and know that whatever career you choose will be for the right reasons and that you will excel in it and retain your humanity.

Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in the world of medicine as a whole and I am glad people are speaking up about it! I am currently in my 5th year (out of 6 years) of medical school at the moment in Tbilisi, Georgia after completing a BSc (Hons) in physical therapy in the UK and I will say I have had moments of "did I make a mistake studying medicine" and "do I really enjoy this and do I wanna do it for the rest of my life". The hard part of medical school is not the academic side, while it may be a boatload of information and have some difficult aspects, its the other aspects that medicine affect and influences (the socioemotional, the cognitive strain of stress about the future, the duration - its a marathon not a sprint, the challenging situations, the long lonely nights and days at home behind books and computers) that cause the majority of the challenge and this is why they say you need to be DEDICATED to medicine (I often joke that medicine is my mistress ... ahaha) and if you are not you are already fighting a losing or uphill battle - this is a warning to the future generations of prospective medics... MAKE SURE YOU REALLY WANT TO BE A DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING you must have unparalleled passion / drive as well as mental and physical fortitude so you do not waste valuable years doing something you do not wish to do later in life.

I've been watching these episodes why I quit medicine and almost every one of them is a millennial entitled Brat Working as a doctor is like hanging around the coffee shop Good riddance you quit

I think I’m about 8 weeks pregnant and I’m having pretty bad cramps throughout the day and most when I’m working, (I have to walk a lot for my job) is cramping so much normal? I feel like it’s just growing, explaining and ligament pain but i don’t know for sure

I love watching your vlogs! It is nice to see other stay at home mams go about their day. My days are also filled with looking after my children and chores and like you say, sometimes it is mentally draining and I wish I could be the one going to work. But most of the time I am so grateful I get to spend all this time with my children and care for them. They are such a blessing!

I feel like your doula was not paying attention to the timing of your contractions unless it was the plan to just make it to the birth center fully dilated/ready to push 😅 Also I hate that no one was giving you guidance or encouraging you through the pushing. Praise God all went well and baby and mom are great! You did amazing!!

What are you pursuing now? I feel this way today at 27 years old :/

I 100% resonate with what you said about having an outlet for yourself! For me that’s online school, RUclips, and a few other hobbies but I truly get so much fulfillment from doing “my” things in the morning, then spending the rest of the day with my baby girl. It helps me feel like I’m still me and not totally someone else. Just because we’re moms doesn’t mean we stop enjoying the things we used to, it just may mean being more flexible about when and how to do them❤

Thank u so much for sharing this. I'm 19 and took a year off to prepare for medical entrance exam, the score of which helps u get into a medical college. But I decided midway that I don't wanna continue in this because I don't feel like I can sustain and be actually truly happy in that career. My parents are sad, especially my mum. She's asking me to be brave and not give up so quickly. I know I've probably wasted a year and a lot of money...but I don't think I want to continue with it. I'm not very sure at this point of what exactly I'll pursue if not medicine. But, God willing, I'll find that out. I just don't wanna make an emotional decision simply because my mother/parents believe I can be a doctor and that that's the best thing for me.

Did you have any period cramp before you lost your water i am 38.2 days i had cramps like pains less and more since 36 and still going 😢

Congratulations! I just watched your birth story yesterday, so this announcement was a fun surprise. I have a two year gap between my first then my next three are stairsteps ~16 month gap -- with only one girl 😅 They are all between 8 and 4 now and it's awesome. Joyfully awaiting baby #5 in just a few weeks. As for guilt, I think many women feel this but your needs are important! My husband helps me to make sure that I don't neglect mine and that is such a blessing ❤

It sounds like any mama could have easily panicked or seen the worst in a lot of the situations you talked about. But your calmness, and mental strength is so inspiring ❤. You guys rocked this. God bless your family

My birthday is August 15 😊 we have a new baby coming in June but it’s not my husband and I our oldest is 23 will be 24 in June and him and his wife are having a baby. It’s our first grandbaby so I’m super excited. Our three oldest were close together our oldest and second to the oldest are 17 months apart and our second oldest and our third child is 13 months apart. Now they are 23,22 and 21. 😊
