Gotta be honest any attempt at going "green" now is too late. If humanity went net zero today we are stuck in a feedback loop third largest CO2 producer in 2023 was the Canadian wildfire season. Thats just the Canadian ones too not all wildfires globally. Going net zero doesn't mean all the CO2 we already put up there goes away. The time to act was 40 years ago.

I'll be honest, unless your powergrid is completely/largely renewable, there's no point switching. There are a lot of grids in Europe and the USA that are dirty dirty dirty, running off of coal, oil, and other nasty stuff. There's no point driving an electric car in those places, since the source of that electricity is still dirty. At least with say, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and much of Canada, there are clean grids, so it's fine enough here.

here's a hot take: propulsion is moot and if your fun relies on whether a vehicle has an engine or a motor (mechanical definition) then that's clearly a skill issue. whether its driving or a modification issue is up to you. dai yoshihara has an electric time attack car, theres an electric delorean drift car. for me, i never once cared about engine type or displacement; i always enjoyed cars for what they can do, not what they can't, driving the cars as opposed to bitching about what they have and dont have. who cares whether or not the future is electric, ill be still be there testing the car's limits: of its grip and mechanical top speed. youre welcome to join.

Ethanol is also a renewable fuel, and produces more HP than gasoline, so it's probably going there before 100% electric worldwide

What saddens me is that when I am old enough to have the knowledge to have a custom car build and the money to pay for it, combustion engine parts are not going to be in production anymore making them either really hard to get or really expensive :(

Electric cars are killing the earth. Go and search how a car battery, a fully electric car, teslas and all that stuff are made and you will see what I mean. Not everybody likes diesel and petrol engines, but they are better than the WHOLE world going electric.

I don’t see the point of ev’s they are just as harmful to the environment as petrol or diesel engines because the electricity is mainly generated by nuclear power-plants the fact that all these company’s are all going electric is them wanting to seem as if they care about the environment when they don’t and just want money and are using this as a sales tactic the only option that is actually good for the environment is hydrogen cars which is reasonably similar in concept to the combustion engine except the fuel used is far less harmful to the environment because it emits water and is not gathered in a harmful way i think we should switch to hydrogen even though the combustion engine is amazing
