Sydney an Femke could run in a men’s race. Sydney Mc Laughlin and Femke Bol wouldn't be often last in a men's final. The male runners in front of them would pull them sub 50,00 seconds. Sydney and Femke of course with female hurdles. Men's hurdles wouldn't be fair because of the smaller body height. On the other side with special training and focussing both could beat the very old world record of Marita Koch over 400 m flat from 1985 (47,60). Sydney's record is already 48,75 sec. I believe, after 2 years training even sub 47 is possible. An again with a 46 time both wouldn't always be last in a men's final.

One has never been overwhelmed in her life and holds the world record and all victories head to head. The other is also a great runner but has shown weakness as when Holmes walked her down in the 4x4 and she fell on her face missing all color medals for her teammates. This is the truth. But ita still 30s differece with 1 race no qualifying and in high altitude. Sydney did her WR breakig time with qualifying rounds and she just recently since a year ago. Bol has been running yrar after year non stop. But kudos to het new PB. But the winner of Olympics will break the 49s mark and that will be Sydney again. Sydney 50.65s WR vs Bol 50.95s EUR PB.

I doubt we have seen Femke's best time on the 400mh. She has not shown that all season. Femke made Sidney come back to the 400mh because Sidney knew she would loose her WR. Femke is a current 400m wr holder. So I don't see why you can be so sure about the outcome in Paris. So far Sidney has only performed properly on the super bouncy US Olympic track in Eugene. But can she has not shown any significant performance outside her comfort zone. (Different tracks or outside the US) And yes, we do know how big the US is.

Nope, not "high altitude". That track in Switzerland is at 994 meter that is officially not even "altitude" (>1000m) and gives at most 0.2 of a second advantage. I think you will be surprised.

First, I don't think McLauglin was at 100% when she did 50.65. Why? Because no one was chasing her. She needs Femke Bol but just to set a world record much higher. When they see each other compete in the 400MH, I'm hoping neither athlete is running for second place.

The same goes for Bol. Nobody has been driving her on since she made the big step to 14 stride in 2023. Since then she WON 32 Races (of wich 15 on the hurdles) in a ROW without any opposition. Just like here in London...

@@EaEnkiSumer Dream on bro. By the way: in june McLaughlin improved from 52.70 to 50.65 in just 4 weeks... that is a rate of improvement of 0.5 seconds per week. If she kept going like that in the 6 week from the end of June to the final of the hurdles on the 8th of august McLaughlin should be able to run a 47.65 at the final in Paris. Now would that not be great? Then maybe she could set New World Records for the 400 hurdles AND the 400 flat (if she goes below 47.60...) in one race! Now that would really be a scoop!

The last time they raced Sydney won by almost 30 meters. Yes femke has gotten faster, but so has sydney. And Sydney didn't even expect to break her own world record because she was still working on improving. So if that's the case..........

Do you have a sense of the difference between 51.46 and 52.03(2020) and 50.65 and 50.95(2024) That's how much Bol has closed the gap. .3 is not a world away from Bol, That's very close in a 400 meter event.
