This movie literally does not exist on the internet. It was a pain in the ass to track it down but eventually i managed to do so. Enjoy

*Do not watch this on RUclips, it won't look as it should due to the high compression. Download the uncompressed film using the link below* archive(dot)org: archive.org/details/thais_1917_restored Disclaimer: This is not an official restoration This "restoration" was made using the only publicly available copy of Thaïs, a very low quality recording of the found print made with a digital camera ...
Thanks for sharing this treasure with us!
thanks!!! Do you have any other extant rare Dulac films, such as La Mort du soleil (1921), La Folie des vaillants (1925), Antoinette Sabrier (1927) and La Princesse Mandane (1928)?
i do not unfortunately. Dulac's films seem to only be shown in film festivals. Cineteca di Bologna apparently restored these movies so we have to hope they'll release them in some form sometimes in the future
kind of yellow, compared to the original, which I believe to be black and white
the George Eastman House print is yellow tinted, what you've seen in black and white is probably the same print but without the color tinting
Lost all my previous comments due to account migration. For some reason, even after 2 years, YT won't let me change the description to add the full link. Here it is: DOWNLOAD LINK: archive.org/details/thais_1917_restored

Grazie per il lavoro e la condivisione.
What a wonderful film! Thank you!
thank you SO much for uploading!!
THANK YOU
Wow! What a surprise to find this rarely known Mary Pickford 🌹feature film! Up until now, I’ve only seen clips of it. I didn’t know that Marshall Neilan who would later direct some of Mary’s films played her leading man along with veteran character actor J. Farrell MacDonald as Mary’s alcoholic father. Mary is wonderful in dual roles as “Alice McCloud” and Glory “Rags” Ferguson. Thank You so much for making this film available for viewing! 😉
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Been looking for this FOREVER!
Mary Pickford is brilliant. thank you for finding and preserving this gem. i am a senior and have always loved her. interesting fact, when she played a waif they would hire tall actors, and bind her chest to hide her breasts, and when she played a grown woman they would hire short actors , this went for male and female co stars in her films. thanks again, really enjoying this film 🥂❤️
Maybe It would help start collecting signatures petitioning the Cinémathèque Française to scan an release Thaïs??
This is great! Thanks!
Was there more
was there more after the end
Like was this the whole entire film
Wonderful! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for uploading this! :)
thank you uploader, much appreciated :-)
Thank you SO much for uploading, been looking for this for ages! 😻
@@noxomnia Yeah, it's strangely absent from the whole internet it seems, even though it's a public domain movie. It's one of the very few surviving Mary Pickford films I haven't seen yet, so you really made my day! 😊 Great quality too BTW.
@@noxomnia That’s amazing - do you mind my asking how or where you got it?
thank you for your work
This is absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing! The download link is broken. Do you have a working link, or even an update on whether this might ever be re-scanned?!
@@noxomnia That works! Thank you so much for the help and restorations! Good luck with Quo Vadis :-)
Bellissima iniziativa!
