This review of the roborock S8 will go in-depth into all its features. it shall be compared to the roborock S7 max v and the auto empty dock of it.

This is my mac pro 2008, i did some upgrades to it, if you have questions ask me.
What about the wheels?
What dustbin would i need for the S8 to work with the S7 dock? That wasn't clear
I have an S7 right now and want ro upgrade to an S8. I have a bunch of spare parts for the S7 and while trying to understand what fits where i found your video. I'm trying to follow this video but it's hard to hear you... Could you please just write out which spare parts are compatible with both?
Some people say the S7 single roller is better. I got an S8. On my wood floor it does a good job sucking up fine "sandy" debris. The really small ones you feel when draging a finger on the floor. Always using Turbo mode. Another thing to mention. A few millimeters out where the carpet line goes. It leaves this sandy feel also. It cant suck it up. BUT in the kitchen we have a softer kind of floor. And for some reason it perform worse there. The sandy feel is mostly left. When I run it in MAX mode. Its abit better but not 100%. I dont really get it? Maybe the floor is slighlty more sticky. Or dual rollers are worse. I wish I had an S7 just to compare if the single roller works better here. And another thing iv noticed. Since the rollers on all roborocks is between the wheels. The side brush cant deal with stuff like this along walls. Even If I see its brushing over it. And all the fine "sticky" stuff stays where it is anyway. 😐
I believe the difference might be due to the suction opening size. On the S7, the smaller opening could create more powerful suction. In contrast, the dual roller system has more openings and relies more on the brushes to pick up debris. but im not sure about this.
If you buy an S8 plus dust bin you can use the S7 Max V station.

Hey man, do you have any news about the dustbin? I was thinking to buy an S8 and maybe in the future an auto dustbin. I saw your video, if there is that little white door that can be removed and air can pass via it, it should be a reason for that, no?
Hi, when you would buy the s8 with the rock dock you have two problems. 1 the brush rollers are not sealing with the dock so it can’t get a good seal for good extraction, this should be fixed in some way. 2 the bin of the s7 Max v is not fitting in the s8 the bottom should be cut off a bit to fit in properly, and the reed contact of the s8 and s7 are on different spots so you should install a magnet in the s7 bin to let the robot detect the bin. The s7 auto empty bin is included with the rock dock kit. And has the special door to let air in while emptying the bin.
@@Ybottms man, thank you for your fast reply. It’s anyway still a question mark why there is that little door that can be took off… I know they declared that they would not sell the docking station apart, but maybe because they want to push for the other models first… we don’t know :)
@@pietromarzio18m If you buy an S8 plus dust bin, that one is designed for the cleaning station, and it should work with the S7 or S8 cleaning station. right?

thanks for the video, nice detail and comparison between the 2 models, and i get a clear information regarding the mop pad and water tank, 1 think i wanna ask if possible, can we use the s7 maxv rubber side brush to replace s8 bristled side brush ?, thanks

Hello I have questions: I can buy only s7maxv or s8 . I will buy only robot I can not buy completely system. Which one prefer you ? We have mostly carpet
From the many video reviews I've seen, the S8 seems to be better on carpeting, especially if you have cats or dogs. The S7 seems to do better on wooden floors. I just purchased the S7 since most of my home is wooden floors. I am very pleased with it. You can't go wrong with either model. It all depends on your needs and your budget.
Can s7 max v cover 2500 sqrf in one shot?
Yes 3100sf to be exact
Is there any big difference on mopping between two?
No.
S8 model, is there a video call?
Nope. S8 doesn't have this feature

That is only tru if you have the S8 ultra (with auto mop cleaning dock)

As far as I see from these comparisions and compatibility tests together with the previous model I think the main conclusion for me is that if someone wants to buy an S8 - he/she MUST decide in advance if the automatic dust collecting unit (Plus or Ultra) is needed in order to buy the proper model set at once in the beginning. Otherwise if he/she decides to save some money in the beginning e.g. to buy the basic S8 - basically later it will not be compatible with the automatic dust remover and mop wash station, including the one from the previous model. Or eventually additional mop set and dust bin have to be bought to use the basic model with the automatic dust collecting unit (Plus) and/or mop washing unit (Ultra). So - thanks for the review. It's really good to knowo this.
Can I ask how you were able to get this early? I really want my hands on one.
Hi, I bought it on amazon.nl for €549. it was only for a brief moment in stock. So keep looking for it to return in stock.

@@g33koftech S8 was released ~10 days ago in Europe, in April US is getting all models as well as Europe getting the rest of the models
Nice comparison. So what broke on your Max V? I agree on the Q5 brush it definitely cleans a lot better, I put one on my plain S7 and it made a world of difference!
Something internally broke down, when i try to restore it to its factory settings. It keeps quickly flashing its power button white. When I kept it on the dock it did it for days. When I took i from the charger it stoped after 5 minutes. When I would press the power button again it would start again flashing. Contacted Roborock they did not have a solution and I had to return it to the seller.
WHich one did you prefer the s8 or s7 max v?
I would say they are both quite similar in features, the only real big upgrade over the S7 Max v is the dual brush roller like iRobot had for years. This is mostly useful if you have carpets in house. But the Roborock s7 Max v with the Q5 bristle brush is also a very nice pair, and doesn’t under preform! Also the camera view option is gone on the S8 so no remote robot anymore. Would say buy the one with auto empty dock and the cheapest! The S8 is also bearly in stock now.
Exactly about the camera being gone. Specially if you have kids and want to see what’s under their beds. Not going to lie the S7 MaxV had my floors cleaner then they were brand new. I want the new S7 Max Ultra with the upgraded suction and drying module built in. Haven’t heard much about it though or when it will be released. Also very interested in roborocks Dyad.. just doesn’t get under the beds… would make an amazing pair though!

@@eiceys4612 yea I drifted to the DreameTech H12 Pro wet dry vac. Less bulky, fits in tighter corners due to the smaller roller, and the black matches with the S7 Ultra
Great! @T.M.VIDS Can the S8 return automatically to the S7 empty dock station? In other words: I have the S8, can I buy a less expensive s7 empty dock station and get the same functionalities as if I buy an S8+?
Hi, I would say yes. But I didn’t tested it and I returned the s7 with its auto empty dock. But that the robot could send the empty bin command via it to the dock would say they are compatible. Be sure to also get a different dust bin in the S8. I’m planning on doing this as well, so I can report when I get the new dock.

did some more research and because of the dual brush rollers, the port on the empty dock for the S8 is bigger. so the S7 dock will not have a good seal with the brush roller of the S8
Hi, i got one two months ago. But my bench mark is 8541, i upgrade to ssd, got 20 gb of 667 ram... i think the cpu maybe need new thermal paste, since i dont EVER change it. I dont now really. The Mac is just great, but i see your numbers and got a little jealous. browser.geekbench.com/user/115021
