Blank firing Bruni 1911 - different generations!
An interesting compare and contrast with older and newer versions of the same model, by the same company: Top venting 8mm blank firing 1911 by Bruni, then (not sure when, honestly) and now. I have a few of each in my prop rental inventory, but I hadn't really sat down and looked at the differences before, until I happened to have two right next to each other on the shelf while packing some other props.

I think the coolest innovations in prop replicas this past year are the shell ejecting spring guns, and these muzzle flash simulating suppressors. Smoke Wolf suppressor - muzzle flash and smoke from an airsoft prop?

Been really curious since I found out these existed, even though nobody is selling them in the US yet. With things like the new shell-ejecting spring blowback toy guns, realistic shell ejecting nerf style shotguns, and fake muzzle flash suppressors (all of which I've previously covered on this channel) the question inevitably arises: "Where can I get these?" The danger of AI Content about prop gun safety
These toys are blowing up even adults are collecting these toys. Some guys actually training with these toys.
Not as good a training too as gas blowback Airsoft, in my opinion. half decent teaching tool though.
I bought mine off of Temu, and while it does feel cheap, my only issue is that when I release the bolt catch, the gun fires the bullet instead of just cocking it because its goes back with a LOT of force which really annoys me...I've learned to just slowly put the bolt back into its original position with my hand as to not fire on accident since I don't know how to disassemble the gun to see if I could fix it
Yeah, there's no chambering of rounds, so when it goes forward, it'll push the button on the back of the shell and fire if it touches enough. And if it doesn't fire, the first "shot" will eject the unfired round.
The thing is the more reviews ans people rating the damn product the higher the price....so its not worth it
🤣
Is it possible to change the soft orange bullets in the shells of the strike industries SIG17 to a harder pellet . I want to buy one to kill Rats on the farm . Is it doable . I always see the ads for ball bearings under these guns on temu when I go to buy so wondering if possible
Possible, sure. Wouldn't have enough force though, I suspect - it's just a tiny spring within the shell itself that propels them. You'd be better off with an Airsoft or Paintball gun shooting bearings or something.
Link to product?
See below - they actually stopped carrying them, so I don't currently know of anyone selling these... but of course rentals of everything you see here are available through FightDesigner.com
Update: M416gelblaster said that the way these come out of China, and have enough metal parts on them, they're worried they'll get flagged and get them in trouble, so they stopped selling this particular model because of that - but it is still being made in China, if you can get ahold of one.
Thats pretty cool 😎
KTC's gbb tec is very nice
Haven't gotten to see one of those yet! Cost is more than double what this is, but it would work with the flash and smoke suppressor... hmm...
Nice vids, keep it up 👍
Do they work on BB guns
It should - the only real criteria are whether you can attach it (14mm ccw is pretty standard for threaded barrels on things like this) and whether you have either a projectile that will trigger it (bb should work fine - airsoft bbs do) or enough gas pushing through to trigger a hack like the mylar ribbon I was using, or make something else move in the barrel to trigger the motion sensor. So a spring-powered bb gun probably would work if you're actually firing bbs, or a C02 one should work with the hack.
Part of my gun collection is guns that are famous from movies god we all love the 80's
I had one of these, if I'm not mistaken they are made by Bruni. They are of poor quality, they keep jamming, in the end it broke, something broke inside, I don't know what, I gave up on it. I also had a few pistols and revolvers from Bruni, the same poor quality.
Agreed. Bruni's one of my least-favorite brands... but there are some things only they sell, so...
Can you tell me which website you purchased from?
I think the cheapie was from Temu, although they're all over the place now. The laser one, I think it was TonyaToys

The other spring that comes with it is more stronger swap out the main big spring and gun will run much better. Just use the allen keys on the spring rod to take it off.
Haven't been able to find any guides on this... might have to give it a shot some time. Thanks!
Wow, this is amazing. Could you possibly tell me what the LED light is called? I’m looking for it to use for an upcoming film project. I know you said Spitfire, but I’m looking for this exact one. Thank you for sharing, man.
Honestly not sure - it was a brand-X cheapie that used to be available on sites like Wish, with an Orange version formerly listed on Amazon (but not anymore).

You're really on to something here. When you get it ready for production, you have a good selling product on your hand.
I have WW two issue in original canvas holster. Love it as so friends
I prefer plastic over metal, i dont throw them like a maniac and i am careful with my stuff, it feels great for me, and it looks smooth. But i cannot find a pure black version or just the same one in the video, only a blue and gray variant, where did you buy this?
They have some cheaper plastic ones on AliExpress and elsewhere... but there are other issues with the cheaper ones - for example, if you rack the slide by hand, that breaks it. I explored some of those issues in other PewTube videos, including a sort of workaround.
@@fightdesigner i used to have a semi auto shell ejecting and firing one, except green. And indeed the slide does break when you slide it with your hand

Which make was that flash and smoke suppressor?
That was the one I got off a dropshipping site, that didn't really have any branding or info... but I think it's the same as the Smoke Wolf ones.
Looks like the loader just needs some modification and then it will run fine.
I wonder if I can repurpose a disposable vape into something like this
Probably, but there's a lot of parts to this... the mini-fan (not sure if the gas itself going through would be sufficient if set up that way... maybe?), the light sensor/motion switch (which you could probably set up another way if you want), the LEDs.. I doubt you could do it any cheaper than some of these cost.
Thing looks like a nerf gun!
I mean... it is a Nerf gun, but that said, it certainly doesn't look like the NERF guns I saw growing up.
be good if you added a little sound effect of it firing at the end of clip. Always interesting watching!!! Thanks for posting.
Good idea!
Just wondering what you are suggesting in the video aside from how Interesting they are... You wouldn't happen to be throwing out the idea that it would make a good false gun to scare people off would ya?!? Lol that's how ppl get shot. Trust me, I would know 😅
What this channel is about, what I do through Fight Designer LLC, what my target audience does, is the safe use of firearm props in theatre and film. Not sure your personal knowledge of either shooting people or getting shot, but hopefully neither happened on a film set!
I'm glad to see you're still making these videos. They've come a long way with these. The next step is to make the light and smoke mechanism small enough where you could do the effect without the fake suppressor.
Yeah, and a better way of triggering them without firing projectiles would be nice as well - the hack using the little streamer means it goes off just from movement as well.
UNDERATED
Thank you for your continued work!
Hi Pepper gas ammunition 10 and 15 meters ?? Effective range!! Regards Artur Poland
Hey man could you do a video on how you modded it?
Main thing was just swapping out the barrel for one I 3d printed. If I were going all out, I'd do more (I have another video where I show a bit of one I painted, where I also filled in some of the screw holes, etc.), but these aren't worth it, and the higher-end laser version makes that kind of work a bit unnecessary... get yourself one of those as your hero prop, maybe alongside an Airsoft Gas blowback Strike Industries one (which is the most expensive of the prop options so far, at about $200), and some of these cheapies for disposable stunt props or background props.
I m sorry Colorado is sooooo goth to you..... But $/it happens.
whats the suppressor you're using for the demo? Been looking for one at least 6"+ for exactly what you're showing but have only found short 3" ones or a rectangular one. Great clip, have subed, thanks.
Looked around and can't find it online anymore, sadly... but it was super-cheap plastic, available in black or orange different places, sized to fit Nerf darts not airsoft bbs.
It was similar to this www.zhenduoblaster.com/Inductive-Flash-Tactical-Fire-Cap-Luminescent-Gun-Silencer-Water-absorbing-Toy-Accessories-p25505205.html. ...but now they have some long ones that do smoke too!
Hi, how can we buy from other countries
Where to order?
Available several places, but I believe I got these from TonyaToys
In the instructions, you are not supposed to rack the slide. Only use the trigger.
Yours had instructions? In English, even?
What pistols work best with this?
So far as I can tell, the criteria are: 1. gas coming out. Yes, if you're not using it as a prop, that can also be something that fires bbs, pellets, gel balls, nerf darts, or whatever else fits through these things, but as a prop, with the ribbon hack I'm using, it just needs to have a burst of gas to wiggle the ribbon and trigger the motion sensor. 2. Threaded barrel. 14mm counter-clockwise, which is pretty standard. 3. space for a suppressor - some semi autos jam up if there's something pressing up against the front, so you may need to use an adapter that has a spacer built in. That's true of real and fake semi autos, but I wouldn't assume that the airsoft versions always act the same as the real ones they're based on.
@@pewtube Yeah I was really just asking what pistols you've gotten this to work with. I have a VP9 C02 one but it doesn't have a 14mm thread. Trying to find other options.
@@DoItJustinKace you can get adapters for most common models, going from internal threading for things like 12, 13, 14mm to external 14mm ccw threading (which is what these need), but you have to know what size you need, AND you may need a spacer if the model you have needs that extra space to operate. Some models the barrel's got to rock back a bit when it cycles, and if there's something sticking out right at the end, it blocks the action, so sometimes you need an adapter with a spacer in the middle. Sadly those are a bit harder to find.
i have this and i want to know how to dissassemble it, the rack broke so now it wont shoot and i wanted to fix it but i cant find any instructions online.
Sorry... haven't been brave enough to try that yet!
@@fightdesigner its okay lol
@@fightdesigner i disassembled it myself but i couldnt find the problem.
@@sadfu09 oh, disassembling is the easy part...!
For your spring field armory hellcat pistol, can you put 9mm dummy rounds into the gun to see if it will eject? I would like to see you try it. Just a thought.
I'll be sending this to a props person. Doing PTGW in January.
check zvc 3d print they do functioning replicas
Yeah, cool looking stuff. The complexity is a bit intimidating... we'll see!
Going this was a loophole...(actua lsuppressor, unregulated) ..lol but had to check it out
Nope. Not a functional suppressor in any way.
Nice, BUT no spent shell casings makes it look fake. How do you fix THAT?
So in theory this would work fine with the Marushin gas blowback shell ejecting 1911s or CZ75 that I have, but frankly those aren't the most reliable, and they're rare and discontinued models. Ditto with something like the APS or PPS gas shell ejecting shotguns, although you don't generally put a suppressor on a shotgun. But in general, because shell casings don't affect the environment as much as light does (and the smoke helps give the light a platform), shell casings are easier to CG in later in post. Or... you know... go back to using full load front vent blanks, but then it's too loud for live theatre, has serious safety implications, is more expensive to run, etc. Unfortunately this system won't really work with the spring blowback shell ejecting models I've been showcasing lately, because there's no gas out the front to create motion to trigger the mechanism.
Hi! I finally see someone that it’s working on something similar than me, you seems to be much more advance than me but we are in the same way I guess. I’m gonna tell u my story and maybe you can provide me some advices. I’m a stunt performer based in Spain, the filming industry here we are having problems with the a lot of stunt performers right now than work is available for all of us so I found a little way to scape and make me be different of all the rest stunt performers, it is 3D printing props, I’m a stunt performer so weapons and firearms are very familiar to me, so I decided to start here, and at the beginning I sell some cheap training katanas to some friends, now I’m doing glocks with blowback and ejection dummy bullets but not from the “canon” English is not my main language sorry 😅 and I made some sells, but the normal people is not my objetive becose we have no work so not enough money, so i decided to introduce me to the cinema industry as a prop maker I got Luck with one and they requested me for 3 extensibles batons, so I made them and they were very happy, and the amount of money for me for 3 batons was a loooot but I didn’t had directly contact with the production so at the end I didn’t made the contact, now in trying to join but I see that other people is blocking me becose they have fear of this technology I guess 😅 now I’m trying to make a portfolio but I don’t know when it’s enough? So what shall I do? Finish my portfolio and try to contact art direction ? Try to go directly to the production or make a website with my services? I would like to make bundles becose I have my own stunperformers team so I would like to sell them and my 3D printing for the max amount of money, I’m tired to live as a poor guy that can’t even think to buy a house 🥲
I forget to say that here we don’t have something like sagftra, I’m also an actor and this is a fucking jungle and my skills and time are getting loose by the time, and are not matched with the amount of work that I should have. Sorry for the long text!
@@ReyPerformance that's a tough one... For over a decade I found my balance by teaching, which let me both have some stability (income, insurance - which in the US is a big factor) while getting to indulge in this work when I wanted. This past year I had to move for family reasons, and take what work I could, so now I'm back to doing an office day job and just playing with this stuff as a side-hustle or even hobby.
