Length, Mass and Time

Everything in physics is built off of three basic principles. Length, mass, and time. It is true in our every day life as well. How far away are you? (length). When will you be here? (time). How much is there? (mass). I know that sounds like half the conversation of a drug deal... but I promise its not. :-P SI Units: Length: meter (m) Mass: kilogram (kg) Time: second (s) Check out www.fy6classr...

The Third Law of Newtonian Mechanics
Просмотров 1613 года назад
It's not just "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". It's more technical and nuanced than that. Let me explain it to you.
The Second Law of Newtonian Mechanics
Просмотров 1543 года назад
Newton's Second Law states the acceleration an object experiences is directly proportional to the force applied and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. This commonly represented with the equation F=ma.
The First Law of Newtonian Mechanics
Просмотров 2073 года назад
Newton's first law takes into account an objects initial motion and how you can change that motion. An object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted on by an outside unbalanced force. Most people only say "An object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion"; however, that is not the full story. The part where unbalanced a...

I watched him many times. I mean you wanted to. That is why he was missed so much when he retired. I think everyone knew you would never see it again, perhaps from anyone. You nailed everything physiologically that made him very different. All the great ones have this intangible that no one else has ever had or ever will. A gentic gift. The one thing you missed was in his feet and calves. A lot of guys that are able to make decent moves like that (for example Lamar Jackson) don't have the short, thick, calves that Barry had. He also ran with his feet outturned. Combine his incredibly low center of gravity, with his fast twitch acceleration muscles with his shorter tibia/fibula and you have a cutting machine. Now add his outturned feet to this and it explains how he could cut and spin at full speed and accelerate one way or another at the drop of a dime. His legs were built for pure power and instantaneous acceleration in any direction. If you didn't have Barry wrapped up in your arms you didn't have him. That is why it always looks like the bigger players were helpless. They were. They couldn't ever line this guy up. As you noted they were always falling away from him when trying to tackle him. He could freeze you and beat you in an instant. All while going full speed. The only other athletes that I can think that were like him in their respective sports were Wilt Chamberlain and Wayne Gretzky (for different reasons) but they were equally as dominant. If Barry had a line and team like Emmit Smith he would have set records that would likely have never been touched. As it is his record of ten strait thousand yard seasons will likely never be beat. I have a build something like Barry (although obviously not quite the same) but that was my forte too. Fast cuts, stutter steps, and quick change of direction. I am only 5'9" but I have the same short tibia and fibula with thick calves. It allowed me to outperform many bigger guys on many different surfaces, like football, squash courts, basketball, and anywhere I could use my quickness/acceleration (not outright speed). I was only 175 lbs. I could also cover those quick guys that most other people couldn't. People often underestimate us little guys. I would love to see leagues with under six feet players. I could dunk too (Barry could too). Often better than that big guys. I mean seriously is it that entertaining to watch a six foot seven giant dunk on a ten foot net? However what about a 5'7" Spud Webb who ironically enough won the dunk contest one year. What about Mugsy Boggs 5' 5" tall. Quick as lightening. The quickness of the game would be totally different highlighted with some real physically amazing talent. Just an idea. Great video.

I agree 💯 %. He made professional athletes look like school boys and sometimes even clowns. He made people doubt their own abilities. We will be lucky to ever see anyone like him. He was a generational talent. Emmitt Smith was built like him but not even close to as elusive as he was. The way he could change direction so quickly and be at full speed in 2 or 3 steps is unparalleled. Loved watching him play. It was a privilege.

Barry Sanders lacked heart and ended up as a quitter. Emmitt Smith let nothing stand in his way and the game he played against the Giants with the separated shoulder was the best any running back has ever been and Emmitt has the records. The ONLY time John Madden ever went down to the locker room to congratulate a player it was Emmitt Smith when he beat the Giants nearly by himself. It was a true testament to indomitable will. He could have gone to the Super Bowl any time he wanted and chose to stay with Detroit out of loyalty no matter how they treated him and he eventually just gave up when he still had gas in the tank.

As a lifelong Lions fan, Barry is the most exciting player to watch in NFL history in my opinion. I was at many of the games at the Silverdome and every time he was handed the ball we held our breath in anticipation of a long run. The sad thing is we will never see another running back like Barry in our lifetime.

The other thing that made Barry Great was Detroit was a bad team. He really had no one helping him like Dorsset had with the Cowboys. And I think he could have played another three to five years at the same level, at least. He was about one season from surpassing Walter Payton *another great back, but not at Sanders level*. Sanders didn't like the attention things like that put on him so that and having no team around him I think those were reasons he retired. If he would have stayed he would still own the rushing record. And his running style would have him still the top RB if he was playing today.
