This sounds like healthcare in general. For some strange reason there is this need for them to haze the new staff. Next time I think the lesson learned is to just leave the company, because these people clique up and gossip. I’m glad you were able to find a suitable solution.

I appreciate you being brave in posting your story as it helps me in not feeling alone. I was also having to switch preceptors twice, and one being the person 'everyone goes to.' so I was beating myself up in thinking I was the problem. I decided I can't reason with someone that left me alone on purpose the 1st few weeks just to be spiteful. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're consistently told there's plenty of RN jobs throughout nursing school, but in reality that's only for the experienced nurses that have at least one year of bedside...but once I get my bearings, I'm planning on being extremely nurturing to new nurses, because this job is very hard and you can't do it alone.

Hi Brittany! I was looking for other videos and found this video you made about abnb! I understand your frustrations about abnb. It might help to make restrictions under settings of only accepting instant booking for people with 5 stars. and profile photos. My headache lessened when I did this. If they dont have 5 stars they would have to request to book and it gives you the opportunity to accept or decline.

It's remarkable how many nurses face similar situations. The nursing culture really needs to change. I'm grateful that I work as a traveling nurse and only had two days of training without needing to go through more than two days of orientation. I am sure you being a nurse of color had something to do with it.

Congratulations on your new position! Did you have to do a nursing residency to get back into bedside nursing? I’ve been away from the bedside for 5 years and I find that it’s hard getting back into the hospital setting. Whenever I put an application in I will get a message stating that I’m not a good candidate because it’s been too long since I had acute care experience. Do you have any pointers? Thanks 😊!

try putting up a no smoking sign on the outside and inside of every door. they make smoke alarms that will wi fi you if someone is smoking or too loud. Furnished finder will only fit for a longer term situation and ou will not get the va ca. rates. nice video .. .loved hearing all of the bs that I go through. as well. I gave up on my Airbnb. The last straw was when the police drove by and saw me. What they saw was a black man (me) sweeping his front steps and moving some old furniture out, dusting, cleaning, and basically minding my own business. Two police officers jumped out of their car and arrested me for burglary. I pleaded with them, tried to explain it was my house. Even when I showed them the framed photos of me, my college graduation photos, etc... they still didn't believe me. They told me that's BS, and I couldn't afford a house like this.They accused me of breaking into someone's house, planting photos of myself. The guests who had booked my house turned up just in time to see me bring dragged into a squad car. No more Airbnb for me.

I recently had a conversation with my age group {40+} and those younger … The young people educated me that they prefer AirBnB over a hotel so that they CAN smoke & so they can feel like they’re at home {ie. Their parents house 😅} … Myself & older, we prefer a hotel. We want everything done for us. Because what’s required of a AirBnB is what we do at home ie. cook & clean. So I think it’s great that you’re looking to move to a new platform & change the audience you want to attract

I'm just finishing a course to become a registered nurse with an associate degree in science. It takes 2 years or 2 years and a half with the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. They offer the course online as well, and you only must travel 3 to 4 times to practice and obviously for the graduation. You end up paying about 15,000$ during the whole class.

This is my 9th month as a LPN. I was a CNA for 10 years and enjoyed working home health. After graduating, I knew I wanted to remain in home health. However, I could not land a position. Like you, after so many unsuccessful attempts, I went to inpatient in skilled nursing. As of today, all my clinical training and skills have been through agency. I’ve been lucky to come across assignments that were willing to orientate me. I have learned so much from each assignment in half the time. I’m bridging over to RN in January and have no interest in the hospital setting. Post-acute facilities can be just as toxic and stressful as the hospital. I honestly don’t know if I go into the clinic setting as a RN, will I loose most of my skills.

We have 10 homes we short term rent. However, the last 2 properties I’ve purchased I bought to rent to nurses or travel professionals. I LOVE working with the nurses and the ones I’ve had have been great! Eventually I’d like to switch all my properties to mid-term rentals but things have changed with the travel nurses and contracts are harder for them to find. Hopefully things will get better for them in the future.

I worked in postpartum as a new grad. It was insanely busy. We definitely appreciated the lactation specialist though! That took up a lot of time, trying to get the baby to latch 🤦🏾‍♀️

I left beside about 3 years ago now to do Home Care, but now I’m ready to be more at a location. Tired of driving all day, and wear and tear on my car. Now I’m starting a new job April 1st (2024) at a Doctors Office. Speciality: Urology … so excited! Seems like a good team of people. I will be the only Nurse, working with one Doctor, one Physician assistant and three Medical Assistants. Praying I’m a good fit for the office, and everything goes smoothly. I’m a Nurse for 11 years now, but this is my 1st time working in a Doctors office setting.

People are just rude. Absolutely no respect for others or anything that doesn’t belong to them. A friend of mine has 2 shirt term rentals, she did the bare minimum on furnishings. Of course her rates are based accordingly.
