Did you guys notice that in this episode, Mina orders Konomi Okonogi, their Operations Leader, to write a report for head quarters documenting Kafka's time with the crew. The end credits has been her writing that report the whole series, while reviewing photos the crew put together over the last few months since Kafka joined the crew. Oh, wow! In the last few minutes, you guys noticed it! Thats sweet, only like 5 or 6 youtubers I've watched have noticed that detail.

the pacing of fights in animes that are adapted from manga is usually kind of weird cuz you can fit like 3 sentences of dialogue into one manga panel of a guy throwing a punch, but in animation it's a lot harder to fit all that dialogue into a 2 second animation. the pacing gets a lot better as the show goes on, but theres a lot of scenes like "jojo and dio falling for 20 minutes" in the first few parts

fun fact, the power system in demon slayer is based off hamon! hxh has a lot of jojo references too :) jjba is the granddaddy of just about every modern anime

yeah Dio is a hater, but from his point of view he has some reason to be it: in ep 1 he said that he should have had a better childhood, with some parents to love him, but his mother died and his father was a scum. Therefore he want to take everything away from Jonathan, because he thinks Jojo doesn't deserve all that. This was the original plan when Dio went to the Joestar mansion, something that could be defined as "jealousy", but when Dio got the mask in this episode he said "I reject my humanity", meaning that he has no human feelings anymore, now he's just straight up evil. Indeed the creator of the manga, Araki, created his works with the meaning of exalting humanity (symbolized by the true courage and kindness of jojo), in opposition to non-humanity of Dio. Btw, I'm enjoying your reaction, imho you should do more episode (like 2) in one reaction, like to fasten your pacing

some facts of the episodes: Jonathan's dream job would've been the historian, therefore he kinda understood how that ancient mask could work; that Ogre Street (where jojo met speedwagon) is a reference to the queen's song Ogre battle; Robert E.O. Speedwagon is a reference to the band R.E.O. Speedwagon; the song used in the ending is Randabout of the Yes, and that's from which the meme "to be continued" comes from. jojo is a masterpiece, the manga started in 1986 with part 1 and it still is ongoing nowadays with part 9, while the anime started in 2012 and it covers part 1-6. Also part 7 is considered on My Anime List the second highest rated manga of all time. The creator Araki was highly influenced by the western culture therefore there will be lots of pop cultural reference in the show, like: Dio Brando is a reference to Ronnie James Dio (a singer) and to Marlon Brando (the actor in the Godfather), and also Dio means God in Italian; Erina instead is a reference to a Beatles song; Jonathan Joestar is a reference to Jonathan's, a restaurant chain where Araki used to go to, and for the surname, he wanted to create a nickname that could be abbreviate, like Steven Spielberg S.S., so JOnathan JOestar, JOJO.
