Wait beholders arent friendly to other beholders 36 of them together unless perfect copys would be arguing which one is "the best beholder" and then be brawling. They take this so seriously they actually might ignore the party completely before killing eachother. Even if they all looked the same beholders mentally are the equivalent of sociopaths so there social skills are abysmal. Youll never see multiple beholders together like this and if you so just pull up a chair because your about to see the crazy free for all of your life. As a dm its important to learn the ecology and lore of creatures to allow your players to learn about that unique aspect of the game

I've been thinking of making an encounter with a beholder who lost their ability to fly and just crawls and rolls on their eyestalks and maybe it decides on different ones every time and that decides which part of their magical abilities will they be using
