Going from FL to any other DAW is awful because it's so vastly different. If you plan on having a sustainable career in the music industry imo it's smarter to start with any other DAW than FL, because it's wayyy easier to get used to other DAWs. I started out with Ableton and had to do an assignment in Logic for music school and I pretty much learned all about it in like 2 hours

I own both of them and i share love and hare releationship with both of them too xD They do fill each others rolls nicely... example. Ableton has amazing organization advantage with groups,subgroups,paralell effect chains, effect chain selector, and super tidy automation lanes and internal midi integration. Fl studio is sound design heaven, you can link and route anything to anywhere, amazing piano roll, cool eucleadian sequencer, new chords and progression and riff generator. You can automate the automation if you desire to do so... and automate the level of automated automation... peak controller, fruit formula can give amazing movement and variation to the track,xyz controller might be cumbersome to link sometimes but it gives extra touch to multi controls. FL studio projects cant get quite messy on large scale. Stock plugins they both have an amazing set, personally prefer visual style of ableton and ease of use, but FL studio offers more choice and options with their plugins but it takes sometimes to dial them + there is a patcher now... maximus is still unbeatable multiband compressor... only real rival is Melda MBdynamics. In short i would say Ableton is more linear and effective and tidy in music making, Fl Studio is for more neurodivergent people,whos brains wander around a little bit (with "what if" mindset") xD

I know this is for content but def just read the manual or check out a few beginner vids and some useful shortcuts. Ableton has a ton of amazing stock plugins, and people make their own plugins called max live devices, quite a cool rabbit hole! Great vid, think I need to force myself to try FL now lol
