Oil Pressure Sensor Replacement 2013 Ford Explorer
Просмотров 73 тыс.4 года назад
Location, Removal and Install.
Ola buenas tardes yo tengo el mismo problema ya le cambie el sensor y sigue marcando lo mismo y se apaga me comentó un amigo que puede ser el cedazo que va dentro del carter
How can you tell if it's just the sensor or the pump
Hey is the sensor straight into the block? Mine is leaking but idk if can just change the housing or i would need to replace the lower block.
Its is 100% easier to do from under the vehicle
I replaced the sensor and was wondering does it get threaded all the way in or does some of it stays exposed? I stopped when I felt when it got heavy resistense but I didn't want to over tighten.
to re-install, get a thin, clear rubber hose from home depot and slide it over the plastic switch. Make sure it's a snug fit. I fed it in from the bottom, right in front of the radiator fan. Spin the hose until the threads start and pop off the hose. I was able to tighten it from the top with a ratchet, an extension, 2 swivels, and a 13/16 deep socket. Made it a million times easier, but it's a pain in the ass no matter what. Also try fitting a small piece of the hose over a ratchet extension and the other end over the switch and guide it in that way. Good luck!!
Thanks for the video
I thought the sensor was at the front of the vehicle .
Changing this was the biggest pain in the ass. I had to go at it with my hands backwards between the heat sheild of the exhaust and the altertator. I stood on the passenger side headlight and used my hands and feeling to guide the bit into the hole with some tape holding the part on a extension and socket. Once I finally got it threaded, I was able to take a wrench to it. This is by far the hardest thing to do. This was on a regular 3.7 too. Took me four or five days in total and definitely banged up my hands. Also the alternator vent hole edges are SHARP, so becareful.
I'm noticing a burning oil smell in the cabin of my 2016 ford explorer...is it possible that this is where the oil is coming from and dripping onto the exhaust manifold? Or is there somewhere else that oil may be leaking from and dripping onto something hot and burning off?
Yes
Will the vehicle leak oil when the sensor is removed ?
With mine parked on a hill facing uphill it still leaked oil. I expected it and was ready to put the new part in fast.
Please note a 13/16 socket will be too small. It’s a metric 21 mm, nothing else.
Thanks for the video,I’m going to attempt to do this on my own and your vid gave me the confidence that I can.
Dang A/C compressor!! LoL!! Everything is always crammed in together...
Is this the same for 2013 Lincoln mkx
Was your oil leaking just now having the same problem saw oil coming out from there did that fix the problem
Was it turning off on you? Mine just started showing the light it’s done it twice on idle
Engine never turned off, just Check Engine and Low Oil Pressure warnings. I started with the cheapest thing and luckily for me that fixed the problem.
👍
thank you sir
I have to do this job. Would it help if the fan assembly was removed?? Thanks if you answer.
Did you do the job? Did you remove the fan assembly?
Thx bro!
Any reason why you didn’t show the actual Repair? I mean that’d been great
Exactly what a waste of time.
He did pull out and put a new one
Do I need to drain the pan?
this is wat i wanna know
You can, but not necessary. Just put a small catch pan down for the minimal fluid that comes out. Make sure to refill after reinstallation of the new sensor.
Does your truck shakes when on drive n pressing the break firm?
I’m having the same issue and then it turns off on its own. Did you figure out why it was shaking?
@@jfernandez5122 I have the same issue I was told it can also be the canister purge valve. I will be changing both and hopefully that fixes the issue.

Is this the 3.5 engine?
@@MrDLRu Thats a 3.5? Looks like my 3.7 (even though they're technically teh same engine)
@@shadowhunter388that’s what I was saying. Just different intake and valve cover setup right?
