Thanks
Would have preferred slightly calmer music for watching someone making a model 8).
Thank you for your comment. Finding the right music for my videos is not that easy. I like either classical or rock. I've always had trouble when I've used music to my taste from sources other than the RUclips media library. And what you can find on YiuTube... well, it's not always good. My tip: turn down the sound (I'm not talking) and play your own music.
Wolfgang, what a gorgeous ship and craftsmanship! You have certainly took this build to a higher level. Looking forward to your next build. Any idea what that might be?
Thank you very much. First I have to renovate my workshop, then I still have two kits available. 1st: Capitain John Shmith Shallop by Pavel Nikitin and 2nd: HMS Vicktory by OcCre.
@@wolfgangzinn Very nice! I am looking forward to them!
Hi Wolfgang nice and fiddely, looks great, second option for the flag
Thank you. I also think I prefer the 2nd option.
Dear Wolfgang I'm sorry this beautiful date has to end. I hope you can start a new ship. Thanks for what I learned
Thank you very much. Don't worry, I still have kits lying around. But I have to move my workbench, so that may take a while.
Danke schön! 😊
Again thank you very much Wolfgang!!!!, the kit´s schematics are next to useless,, with your help my deadeyes will be done correctly, beautiful work as always
Thank you, I'm glad if it was helpful.
Woooowwwwww!!!!!, excellent video Wolfgang!!!!, very helpful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful Wolfgang!!, I am about to prepare my Montañés dedeyes, you mention that you are using amatti 1mm thick thread, is that measured the same way Occre measures threads?, the thickest thread that comes with the kit is .8 mm, that would make these thread a .2mm thicker, is that correct?, I am making my own themread, the ones that come with the kit are terrible
@@albertomunoz5896 Thank you. I compared the Amati and OcCre rigging yarns in an earlier video (see in my playlist). The 1 mm yarn from Amati only has a real diameter of 0.8 mm (see tab at the end of the video). Therefore, I always used the 1 mm yarn from Amati when 0.7 mm was stated in the instructions.
@@wolfgangzinn thank you!!
Hi Wolfgang, firstly compliments on your quality work. The ship looks great. I am looking for something a bit bigger to build after I finish Pegasus from Amati and your Motanes looks like a really good option. I have only built one Occre kit ( Endurance) which was a lot cheaper and I thought the kit quality was just OK. Are you happy with the standards of the kit components in Montanes..? it looks to me to be much better than Endurance but that might just be your superior building. Would appreciate your feedback on the kit. John Australia ps... I just saw your rigging tool and immediately ordered one....what rope did you use for your running rigging..? was that from Occre.? that was one of the poor components in the Endurance kit. Yours looks much better but those red spools look more like Amati.
Hi John. Firstly, thanks for the praise. Basically OcCre makes reasonably affordable kits. What I like is the use of different woods (compared to Artesania Latina, for example, where you always have to work with colours). However, the relatively low price is reflected in the level of detail. Models from OcCre are always a bit ‘simpler’. The biggest problem with OcCre is the quality of the rigging yarn. You guessed right, I got the running rigging from Amati. I got the standing rigging from a German manufacturer (www.modellbau-takelgarn.com/). But I'm happy to invest the money, because even with the consistent use of beeswax, the OcCre yarn doesn't get much better. P.S. Unfortunately, Occre kits do not come with stands.

Wolfgang, amazing! This ship is gorgeous to say the least. And that rigging? My hats off to you.
Thank you, I do what I can.
Hi Wolfgang 👋 Great to see that you are back😊 The Montañés looks amazing 👏 Really looking forward to see her finished, and your next project 😊 Take care 🙂
Thanks a lot
Hi Wolfgang, I would 100% agree with Greg, youve done an amazing job, were you using a glue wash to secure the ropes, ie glue and water?
Thank you. Yes, I'm mixing white glue and water to fix the lines. It dries completely transparent. I'm almost finished. But the last few weeks have been nice weather, some family parties (followed by Corona) and I have a new gaming laptop. All distractions. When it gets autumnal now, maybe I can focus on shipbuilding again.
@@wolfgangzinn Gaming laptops make me happy!
The Montanes is looking amazing! Would be the best example of this ship I have seen. Great work Wolfgang
Thank you very much, from rocker to rocker.
Hello, i love ur series before i buy just one question, how do you work out by how much the planks near the bow must be narrowed....
I confess that I did this more or less by feel. Like you, I did give it some thought, but when my calculations showed that the plank had to be tapered to 2.37 mm, for example, it was difficult to really keep to this over the entire planking. So I proceeded step by step and made new decisions after each plank. The only thing I made sure of was that I did the same thing on both sides.
Hello again, thank you very much for your answer, it makes a lot of sense. I guess the point is to keep the lower end of the planks parallel with the keel due to the curvature so that it closes aligned. Thank you again the love you put into your your work admirable. Marcus
That rigging scares me! I know you will build it to perfection. Love it, Wolfgang!
Thank you, I try my best.
She looks amazing, thats a lot of rigging
Thanks, Grant. In the meantime, all lines are in place.
Absolutely stunning!!!!!
👍👍👍
Beautiful work Wolfgang, thank you very much for the detail on the installation of all those little pieces (I don’t now what they are called), the manual is simply not very helpful, how many did you use?, the manuals said there where supposed to come 95, I see you only got 87 and I just got 85. Thanks again!!
Thank you very much. If I add up all the ones from the construction plan, I get 82 (if I haven't forgotten any). I have distributed all the rest on the bow.
@@wolfgangzinn thank you so much Wolfgang, thanks to you my build has been possible and will be finished
Beautiful work as usual Wolfgang.
Thanks
Wolfgang, simply amazing! I cannot wait to see this ship completed. Great stuff!
Thank you
Very nice work must be getting towards the last of the sails? Glad you mentioned the camera was out of focus. I thought I had had one too many Bourbons ;)
Thanks Greg, I hope you enjoyed the bourbon.
Thanks for going to the effort of producing these exceptional videos Wolfgang.
Thanks a lot
Wolfgang, also amazing! I feel as though I am learning with every week on better rigging practices. One question, how many ships have you completed?
Thank you. On my chanal you will find videos from 10 models.
Very impressive work again Wolfgang.
Thank you Greg
@@wolfgangzinn Love it!
hello, ive been searching for the wood cutter you use. I built the prinz eugen and cut all my strips with a knife, and that cutter would of saved time. where is it sold and whats its actual name. thanks
Always a great job. Your skills amaze me! PS. I finally finished my wrap up video for the Endurance. Hopefully you will like it.

Nice Work Wolfgang, some nice closeup shots there.

The anchors look amazing Wolfgang. If there is one thing, more than any other , I have learned from you is that attention to detail makes a huge difference to the look of the ship.
Thank you so much Greg

Wolfgang, as always and amazing job! You handle the rigging and sails like a master on their canvas. Well done!

amazing work as usual Wolgang, attaching the blocks was a bit fiddley, I must confess i usually wrap them around and glue
Thanks Grant, I like having the option to still move the blocks to either tighten or loosen the lines.
Amazing work Wolfgang. There are certainly a lot of sails and ropes on the Montanes . All looking incredibly authentic.
Thank you Greg
Super.

Wolfgang, I am beyond jealous of your sail work. The way you prepare and build the sails and yards to mount onto the masts is perfection! Like I said, jealous!!!!!
Many thanks. It doesn't stop anyone from copying it. LOL

VERY GOOD TEACHER FOR ME. AFTER THE 2 VIDEOS WITH SANTA MARIA, I MADE THE MODEL WITHOUT PURCHASING ACCESSORIES (LESS THAN 12 PIECES OF RAM'S HEADS). I BOUGHT ALL THE MATERIALS FROM HORBACH AND CUT AND PROCESSED THEM ON A WOOD LATHE
Thank you
Nice work on the sails Wolfgang . I hope you show how you reef the sail. It was something i wanted to do on Soleil but wasnt sure how to do it authentically.
I'll see what I can do. Thanks Greg

Those little buggers took me a few hours even with the rigging tools. The man is a genius!
Thank you, but don't exaggerate (LOL)
